going to be influenced by the storm with some very gusty winds across the area and also some beach erosion. now the eye over to the temperatures and we can see what's going on here. because we're looking at warm temperatures once again for today. but, what's going to couple with the storm to the south are these cold temperatures, this cold snow in the mountains definitely possible as we go through time. so we have a lot to consider as we go towards the weekend. the end of the weekend the beginning of next week it's going to be cold can it's going to be windy and we're also going to get some rain in here. but for today, as you step out that door ijamsville temperature at 57 degrees. not worried about really having the heavy coat this morning because the temperatures are well above average. and we are at 59 in sykesville and westminster. through the rest of today this is what you can expect. we can expect some patchy fog this morning. and a sun/cloud mix as we go into the afternoon. this 72 is going to be the high for today. that is going to be coming above average. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with

lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. well, as you mentioned we are and unfortunately a crash on . the west side of the beltway in wood lawn on the outer loop at security boulevard. north of the scene, here's what it looks like at liberty road. checking in and taking a live look you'll notice it's causing a massive backup it's going to take you 14 minutes right now to travel that outer loop from 795 down towards 95. as far as the beltway is concerned in parkville a live look at harford road, normal conditions, no problems as you do travel up towards towson. and as we pull up another drive time the jfx going to be in great shape. no delays traveling from southbound -- southbound from 695 all the way downtown. that stretch will take you just 11 minutes. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charlie, over to you. in this morning a trial begins for two people cited for giving teens alcohol. the teenagers later dayed in a crash. >> the accident happened back in january but now a mother and a brother of a teen girl are headed for trial. and abc2 news' sherrie johnson

joins us with more on the story. >> reporter: the civil trial of debbie and joshua franco is scheduled to begin this afternoon in district court in glen burnie. they were given citations for providing alcohol to three teenagers who were killed in a car crash in january. that crash happened on interstate 97 and route 50. several 911 callers say the car carrying three teens was going the wrong way before the head- on crash happened in davidsonville. the crash killed 18-year-old franco, 19-year-old brittany walker, 18-year-old zachary rose and the driver of the other car, 55-year-old terry wayne davis. now debbie and joshua franco are accused of serving alcohol the minorrings considering -- to minors during a birthday party at their home just before the accident happened 679 state police say both drivers were under the influence of alcohol but the francos lawyer says his clients are innocent. he says the alcohol was from places beyond the franco home. the state's attorney office says right now there's no law if place that has tougher penalties -- in place that has

tougher penalties. there's no jail time but possibly a fine as much as $500. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. police have increased their numbers of officers in roland park after two people were kidnapped and robbed within minutes. the first victim was a woman walking to her car around 2:00 in the morning on roland avenue. two men with a gun came up and forced her into their car. it was a silver four door dodge stratus. they released her after taking out money at the atm. they struck again ten minutes later. >> this 19-year-old victim was riding his bike in the 5500 block of roland avenue. they struck this victim with their car which the fell fell off the bicycle. they then went up to him with the guise of making he was okay and then at that point they forced him into their vehicle. >> a 19-year-old was robbed and eventualry dropped off as well. right now today a teenager accused of killing a 10-year- old jessica ridgeway will be in

court. colorado police arrested 17- year-old austin sigg. they have a preliminary hearing and charged him with two counts of first degree murder and one count of kidnapping. >> for me, my steps have to be one step at a time into forgiveness. because yes, i'm really angry and i'm really hurt that this person has done this. >> ridgeway was last seen by her mother back on october 5th when she left for school. her body was found a week later at a park in denver and a suburb there five miles away from her home. news time 6:34. you think times are tight? listen to this. tempers flare as drivers waiting to fill up at a gas station in san diego, california. a gallon of regular unleaded dropped just under a dime overnight to $3.89 a gallon. you see the cars lined up to fill up. well, one man said he saw two men almost come to blows over the gas. well, do you find yourself traveling above the speed limit? >> i know you do.

thursday morning, this is your abc2 news to go, i'm megan pringle. >> and i'm charlie crowson. a check of the forecast with meteorologist lynette charles. >> as of now the eye now beginning to move back over open water and you can see it right -- there. so it will begin to pick up some steam. you can see how large this system is. already kicking some rain bands across southeastern florida this morning. and this will track up to the north as we go through time. by the end of the weekend, into early next week, we'll be getting some effects winds very cold weather as another storm systems in from the -- system comes in from the west going to

the east. but this morning no type of systems whatsoever. we're dealing with plenty of dry weather out there and also dealing with some mild temperatures this morning. we can see them 61-degrees in columbia. laurel coming in at 60 degrees. and lusby at at degrees this morning. we -- 59 degrees this morning. we will have an easterly flow and that's going to keep the temperatures down a bit in the afternoon. but the temperatures still above average. yesterday we hit 81 degrees and for today going with 72-degrees with a sun/cloud mix through the remainder of the day. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. be sure to turn on the beams and we are dealing with several accidents. very serious one right now in howard county it's in elkridge on route 1 at route 100. we are awaiting on additional details from police now but a photographer is on the way to the scene and we will have the very latest a's it becomes available -- as it becomes available. use 95 up stead. on the beltway problems will persist, we have a crash in wood lawn right on the outer loop at security boulevard.

as we check and take a live look here at liberty road. causing quite a backup. 15 minutes altogether on that outer loop from 795 down towards 95. this is where the beltway looks like in parkville and much different story here at harford road. no problems getting up to towson and that inner loop nice and clear down to 95. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charlie, over to you. before you head up to the bus stop this morning, with your kids, we have an abc2 news investigation. >> you worry about whether or not they're going to behave on the school bus. but abc2 joce sterman is here with more and you say we might need to be more concerned about the drivers? >> you think your kids are in safe hands once they step on the bus but we found hundreds of local bus drivers have been busted on cameras speeding and running red lights and there could be more we don't know about because of a lack of oversight of some drivers. our abc2 news investigation looked into camera citations handed out to bus drivers who work specifically for baltimore

city or baltimore county public schools. they were caught on tape with alarming images like these. we found more than 200 citations for speeding or red light violations. with drivers racking up 10 grand in fines they then have to pay on their own. but together the two districts also pay more than 300 contractors to drive their students. and the companies they work for don't have to tell the schools when they get camera tickets. it's just not in their contracts. but after talking to us, the districts say that requirement soon will be because this is a serious problem. >> i think sit potentially dangerous -- it is potentially dangerous behavior. i think that it is a safety issue. >> i would not want to see one ticket and a bus driver or any other employee here in baltimore county who drives a board owned vehicle or equipment. one is too many. we transport students. and that's just not acceptable. >> but we found some drivers are testing the limits getting caught over and over again on those couple is.

"consumer reports" tested a number of energy drinks finding they contained caffeine levels

the governor made college affidavittability a priority during his time in office. many of them heading out of state. that's according to a new census report. it shows adults ages 25 to 29 are the biggest out of town movers. many are trying to find jobs in areas like d.c., denver, seattle and texas. american airlines plans to add up to 2500 pilots and 1500 flight attendants, the airline filed for bankruptcy and lost thousands of employees as part of reorganizing. they plan the hire the flight attendants within the next year. disney on ice is in town but before they come to the rink some local school kids are beginning to get a chance to -- going to get a chance to dance with the characters, a special rocking workout in towson. doors open at 1:45. but workout begans at 2:15. news time now 6:52. a 50-year-old tradition is being broken and it's happening this sunday. it's all for a good cause. the referees at the jets and dolphins game they are going to throw pink flags instead of

yellow. all to promote breast cancer awareness. players already wear the pink cleats and gloves you've seen them before no doubt and the idea actually came from a fifth grader in new jersey who gets the present the fink -- to present the pink flags on sunday. lynette has been watching the weather for us all day. both locally here and a lot of attention down south. >> exactly we're going to start down south and this may have an i want pact on our -- impact on our wear. still going to do this. what's going on right now. we have hurricane sandy those winds sustained at about 105 miles an hour. it's moving to the knot at 16 -- north at 16 miles an hourment all the models pretty much in agreement right around the florida area off the coast. and then even as we go around the coast of the carolinas, but then watch the jog that it takes back off towards the west. and now the national hurricane center has that cone right on the edge of new jersey and also delaware and even maryland.

so ocean city we can really get hammered by this. but also watching is some cold weather so we have a cold system that's back off towards the west now. we see the snow entering the northern plains rather and also moving their way off into minnesota at this time. that cold weather will make its way towards us just in time for that tropical system to come across the area as well. could be seeing maybe the perfect storm. that's definitely a posesment. but for today mild temperatures this morning. don't need the heaviest coat. 72-degrees is what i'm going for this afternoon. still above average as we go through tonight and even by tomorrow the temperature at 70 begs, here's the seven day forecast for you as the storm we're looking for it to go downhill into the sunday, monday and tuesday. and possibly wednesday. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. well, we are following a very serious crash right now in howard county.
