what is of most concern is the current hurricane track on sandy. sandy continuing to look like she is going to make a hard turn after she rounds the carolinas, a hard turn blocking high over greenland will push sandy in to the mid atlantic. would it be jersey? or through the heart of delmarva? it could be there or anywhere in between. we are tracking it closely. see the impacts on florida. winds, rains this is with sandy offshore by 700 miles, big impacts but now at the beach here locally, conditions still calm for the moment. let's get over to mike masco. we got new model in, this is the g fdl, this takes it over the eastern shore. we do still have the 400-mile spread between ocean city to north as atlantic city and one mile taking it north, closer to new york city.

it really is all tracked dependant on what type of effects we will feel from the storm. we know this storm is going to produce surf. looking at the reports along the coastal sections of florida, 17-18-foot waves with gusts close to 30 miles an hour. that's gail force winds extending from the center. this is a historic storm potential for maryland, a long duration event. monday through wednesday, eastern bay flood risk is high. high winds, heavy rains, you got to keep it locked on channel 2. we will break down a track scenario, what to expect from each coming up in a little bit. thank you very much. that is good, the two wild cards, precise place for the storm comes ashore, make preparations now and saturday sp sunday, looking okay w the storm arriving later than first thought, we are talking about a monday morning arrival, lingering in to tuesday, and wednesday.

let's head to the news desk. emergency managers throughout the state have planned for the worst with hurricane sandy coming our way. >> they are also relying upon you to protect yourself. jeff hager is standing by live in carny with more on what they are recommending. jeff? >> reporter: if you have been running out today or in previous days to stores like the home depot, getting essentials, flosh lights and battery -- flashlights and batteries. you have been doing what emergency managers suggest you should do. be prepared. for those living along the chesapeake, those with boat tons water, another level of preparation has been going on all day and will continue in to the weekend. they have seen the boats, the flooded homes, before. those of us who are landlocked have plenty to get ready for with sandy. >> be prepared to be without power for a long period of time. no one likes that scenario, but if trees start coming down,

now, maryland's most accurate forecast. >> i'm chief meteorologist, wyatt everhart, we are all over hurricane sandy as we track the movement up the coast. be sure to download the weather app to track sandy at all hours of the day. if you end up losing power, monday and tuesday, you will have the mobile app, available. let's look, at the overall situation, sandy is with a intense core, the radar returns on this are significant off the flida coast. a large system, we are watching

where sandy heads from here and how much we will see strengthen in to the sunday, monday and tuesday time frame. winds 75 miles per hour, movement north at 6. over 700 miles, down the coast, from ocean city, speaking of ocean city, we will get those in a second. speaking of the storm, it continues to pull big time showers and storms and high winds. this is 2-300 miles off of the florida coast, having an impact there. locally, as we look at the beach here, this is still a quiet time before sandy arrives, she begins to move in towards sunday. getting outer cloud bands from sandy. that gives you an idea of the size and breath of the storm as the reaches from outer band clouds from maryland, down in to the lesser antilles. a massive system, with the most recent track, bring it in to the maryland coast, now, the most likely track would bring it in to delmarva, there is a

wide variation. the factor is the cold air front tapping in to sandy as she comes up the coast. we think ramping up in intensity as we move in to sunday night and monday morning. for more on sandy and her potential, let's head to mike masco. >> we were talking about the models. this is the spaghetti plot model. this is an idea of how stuff the storm has been nailed down. the storm stay office the carolina coastline and a hook towards the left. we have never seen this before, it's been a forecasting challenge. tracks taking it south as ocean city, bringing its all the way up towards new york city. we will fine tune where that track is going to go. weather graphics, two track scenarios over the weather graphics, we will show you a track up the coastline, this is the worst case scenario. gusting to 55.

people is, do what you can until sunday night, get the things you need done, some of the things you don't have to spend money on. make sure you have important documents, insurance documents for your home and vehicle so you have that information. make sure that you are taking care of your family, when you take care of your family, take care of a neighbor. >> when the power goes out, at's when neighbors can really work together here. >> the big thing with the utilities, we will have power outages, there is no doubt this is going to be a large storm, going as far north as potentially maine and as far south as virginia. that swath of land, there is going to be as a lot of power outages, people should prepare, prepare for the next 72 hours, be without help. >> during the storm, the best thing for folks would be, hunker down, don't try to get

outside. let it go until the winds pass. >> we see the majority of this storm coming in about monday evening, tuesday morning. if you have a chance, you can work from home, stay home. local schools will make that decision on tuesday morning or monday morning in some areas and southern maryland, to cancel school, but as you said, the best recommendation is if you can, and you can take a day off, take the day off. >> after the storm, stayout of the way of emergency crews. utility crews and police, fire, everybody trying to provide services, stay at home. >> utilities, now, we are prepositioning, 7200 pieces of equipment that will be in place on sunday night. the unique thing about the storm is it's not going to be a normal four or five hour hurricane that moves through. it's a hybrid type storm, it's going to be sitting here, stalled, for about 2 days. those utility crews are not going to, they will be in
