milesan hour in ellicott city and they will pick up as we go throughout the day. fredericks temperature at 39 and last stop on the temperature tour in catonsville at 41 and this is what to expect as you head throughout the day. here's the planner at lunchtime the temperature coming in at 50 so we are quite chilly and cool and the high going with 53 and once again we will get a few peeks of sunshine heading through the day. let's check the abc timesaver traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: off to art but we of sleep on sunday. problems on the roads. a water main break shut down the westbound lanes of route 40 and this is northeast baltimore. there's another water mayne break on york road right near cold spring lane. the one northbound lane is actually getting by at this time the southbound travels being detoured. so, you want to avoid york road if possible this morning. stick with charles street or 83

as an alternate. as we check in and look at some of the main lines 695 moving right along here at dulaney valley road. no problems to report from parkville up to 8 3. and this is with the west side at liberty road. looking at a normal 9ment ride on the outer -- 9 minute ride on the outer loop. and an accident cleared from 95 at fort mchenry tunnel toll plaza but no delays. looking at typical 8 minute ride northbound from 695 to the toll plaza. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic now over to you. news time is 6:32. an update to a story we brought you out of atlanta. atlanta journal constitution is reporting police have given the all clear to the cnn building. this is a video we received into the abc2 newsroom for two hours ago, this after someone called 911 saying he was inside the building with a chemical bomb. officers rushed to the sceneclosing off a number of streets and minutes ago they cleared the scene moving crime

tape and opening the streets and i lowing employees to return to the building. 6:32. for days we have been seeing the video out of new jersey major damage by hurricane sandy. force of the storm missed us just by 100 miles so we sent charley to atlantic city a place so many of us go to bring perspective. >> charley crowson for abc2 news reporting in atlantic city wanting to give you an idea of how bad sandy was and how fortunate we were in maryland to have missed the full force of this storm when it made landfall two days ago. we are in front of the waterside apartments off the shoreline. you see a number of windows completely torn out. these are apartment buildings probably not very many people there right now as the cleanup continues. these houses over here are not a window left in any of them. we talked to one contractor who was brought in and he is cleaning up a house and doesn't know if the owner will rebuild. we are walking along the boardwalk that historic atlantic city boardwalk walk. you've seen the photos and

illustrations and this is the new look for now. this is where the boardwalk ends and sandy taking it out completely from where we stand on up to the north. the city says they will rebuild this but as for the houses, that's going to be left up to the homeowners. what the insurance companies decide if they want to risk something like this happening again. >> you are seeing the boardwalk the casinos packed with people walking around and it must be weird to see it like a ghosttown. >> it was weird when we arrived in atlantic city. when you are on the outskirts coming in on expressway you don't see anything and there was nothing to it. because it's a marshy area so to see the waters high it's not a big deal. but when we made it to the trump plaza and looked at ceasears and looking up to the other side at tropicana there's no one around. i think in the four hours we were there, i would say for the first three of them, you probably didn't count 100 people. >> wow. >> and that includes the people cleaning up the houses and doing all they can to sort of

bring normalcy back. but, as the afternoon wore on you began to see more people out in the streets. some of the back streets a couple blocks back but i am telling you in the first three hours, probably didn't count a hundred people. >> perhaps that's good because people said evacuate and be safe. pick a people paid attention to that. >> a lot of people shall one guy that left had to be snuck back in because up until 3 yesterday afternoon atlantic city was cut off to residents and peopletrying to come in and out. we got in because we were with the media. he had to be snuck in on wednesday night to see his home. >> wow. >> he spent thursday cleaning it up. >> we will hear the stories for a while. >> we will. all right. the city will take back the sandbags you picked up to protect your property and house and they say they will take them. >> three drop off spots. the city is trying to keep people from dumping the sand in storm drains or gutters. drop them off at broadway pier rash field or polyhigh between

10 a.m. and 7 p.m. today. police are trying to identify a man who sexually assaulted a 6-year-old. this happened at a family dollar store back on october 21st and he is describe as having two gold front teeth possibly one has the letter j on it. if anyone has information and if it sound familiar police want to hear from you. call the city police department child abuse unit and the number is 443, and 984-7376. after losing thousands of dollars in merchandise a store owner says she was tired of being a victim. >> this texas store owner has taken drastic measures according to some and posted a sign offering a 10,000 dollar reward to any law enforcement office here shoots and kills a burglar. >> the woman is worried aboutgoing out of business after break-ins no mater what she did the crooks found a way in. and then she saw a sign on another business and decided i

to 95. outer loop is where it gets tricky taking 8 extra minutes from 95 up to 83. the west side of the beltway in great shape. no delays from liberty road down to route 40. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. now over to you. >> the stories are becoming common a dozen in the past few months and we are telling you baltimore infrastructure is cracking. >> and that means we are having problems driving around the city. sherrie johnson is live in north baltimore. it's a water main break that's leading to headaches correct? >> reporter: it is most certainly is. we have all new information for you this morning. gillford elementary middle school is closed this morning because of this water main break here. you know the school has no water so, students don't have to report to school. but staff should report to work. we are in the 4600 block of york road here in north baltimore where yes this water main break is causing a few problems. also, northbound drivers traveling in the southbound lane because of this water main

break they have one lane soaked. northbound drivers are in the southbound lane. southbound drivers are redirected at this time. as being see in the massive hole, crews have been work around the clock to fix the main. 40 homes and businesses are without water because of the water main break. officials with the department of pub hick works says it happened one yesterday afternoon. people from victoria's ministries international were evacuated from the building. public works officials say crews are working on getting debris out of the way so they can get to the break to start repairch city has not talk about the cause but weather and change of temperature and an aging incause these types of things. crews are working trying to fix this. no word on when it will be repaired. reporting live in north baltimore sherrie johnson, abc2 news. you might have to wait for hours in line but the voters

who have done it say it's worth it. >> today is the last day for early voting in maryland and the election is tuesday november 6th. linda so is live at one of the polling areas. when do the polls open? >> reporter: they will open at 8 this morning and stay open for 13 hours today. polls will close at 9 tonight. this is the last day of early voting and we are getting so close to election day. the past few days have been any indication, get ready to wait in long lines on this last day for early voting. this is what it looked like at randallstown community center. loin wrapped around the building. -- line wrapped arou the building. some waited for hours to get through the line. willy -- early voting seat record. 267,000 cast ballots early since centers opened in maryland. hurricane sandy forced early voting to be canceled on monday and tuesday but they are making up for that lost time. >> i really hadn't focused on

watchch the poor salmon have no idea they are about a quarter mile off course here. >> well some people are taking advantage of this easy fishing opportunity for sure. we saw a dog in there in the waters and they say they are using hooks and the dogs and there he goes. >> got him. >> good. he is good. to get that salmon and take it and sell it. so finally we are showing you video of a different water situation. all week storm has been -- the story has been sandy and hopefully we will get a weather break here. >> what's going on this weekend? >> the system is pushing away from us. this morning we are dealing with cold temperatures in the low 40s to upper 30s for mount airy to baltimore and jessup more of the same but also breezy conditions. in dc and york the wind are out of the west at 5 miles an hour and will pick up throughout the day out of the west at 5 to 15 miles an hour.

gusts maybe up to 20. but this is what's going on. so, the remnants of sandy pushing off towards the north. and we will see some more systems work their way in here. two as we go into next week both will stay to the south of us. and the second one is the one that we will be watching. it will stay to the south of us and drop that moisture and then head up the coast. so what we are looking at is a coastal storm that could be affecting us as we go into wednesday, thursday and friday the next week. definitely keep our eye on this and bring you the latest information as time draws closer but i want to put the information out so you know what we are working with as we head into next week. another coastal storm possibly a nor'easter. on future trend not whole lot, just cloud and sunshine going throughout the day. the planner looks at 53 for a high. breezy conditions and don't forget this sunday, we are going to fall back as we go through time and we will be dealing with the 7-day forecast where we havemore sunshine as we head towards the weekend.
