it was a rough day again on wall street. the dow had the biggest plunge. we lost 121 points today.

you can get a few more hours of sleep the day after thanksgiving. instead of waking up early on black friday, now looks like you can shop on thanksgiving day at walmart. >> reporter: forget black friday. this is the new trend. walmart announced it will open at 8 p.m., offering deals to entice early shoppers. it's the second year in a row that walmart has opened on thanksgiving night. sears and kmart also announced they will open on thanksgiving. walmart said it's responding to what people want. the company is responding to customers who say they want to have their turkey and shopping all in the same day. the number of shoppers hitting the store on thanksgiving has soared over the past three years to more than 24% last year. they're not going to be alone.

future that lies ahead. >> reporter: the victory was made possible because of support from key groups of voters. 55% of women voted for obama compared to 44% for romney. it's about the same as in 2008. he won the support of 56% of women, a stark difference between romney and obama and support from african-americans and latinos. 93% of african-americans and 71% of latinos choosing obama. in 2008 the president won 96% of the african-american vote and 67% of the hispanic vote. >> it doesn't matter whether you're black or white or hispanic or asian or native-american or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, day or straight. you can make this here in america if you're willing to try. >> reporter: republicans admit the ground game played a role in their defeat. democrats on the ground going

cord. he looked shocked. so he did it. we took the baby from brittany and started to dry her off. >> reporter: being born on election day hopefully won't sentence her to be of all things, a politician, but she has the confidence of an entire fire station. >> we had a huge relief when we saw everyone come in. we're so thankful. >> we have many people, with 30-year careers and never delivered a baby. it's something to make you smile about. >> reporter: by the way, the folks at the hospital were so impressed with the firefighters that they gave them little gifts for a very big person here. >> don't try to explain to her the electoral college. >> i still don't get it. coming up at 6, a dad leave
