can see on maryland's most powerful radar we have all five sweex scanning the skies and not a lot to scan as of now but change is in the forecast. right now you are stepping out the door in catonsville at 48 degrees. we are seeing more of the same in ellicott city this morning. millersville at 43 and those winds will be out of the south today boosting the temperatures. we are dealing with a little bit of patchy fog so as you head out and about take it easy. 47 when you wake up this morning around 10. and as we go into lunchtime it's breezy with temperatures at 60 degrees and those clouds will be on the increase. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. as you mentioned, we are dealing with fog across the region. so, do expect reduced visibility. turn on the low beams. we an accident on 95. it's moved to the northbound shoulder at pulaski highway. but something to watch out for. here's what 95 looks like downtown at 395. traffic is moving along.

country and who are still serving. stephanie rawlings-blake will be on hand for this event starting at 9 this morning right here at mount vernon square where it will wind downtown. the mayor will lead a march of dignitaries from the washington monument to the actual ceremony. there will be a formal ceremony at the war memorial plaza. a number of streets will be closed this morning because of the parade starting at 7 a.m. work see -- we can see signs posted along the street that say the streets are blocked off at 6 a.m. so, but you can -- they need you to move your cars by 6 a.m. and then there will be road closures at 7 a.m. and, of course, lauren cook will have more on the road closures coming up in just a bit. but the actual marchs starts at 9:00 this morning followed by the ceremony that starts at 10 this morning at war memorial plaza. reporting live in downtown

baltimore, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. news time 5:33. and every year mission barbeque honors those who served our country by offering complimentary sandwiches. and today, they are kicking it up a notch. they have brought in charm city cakes they are going to make world war ii iwo jima cake and they are going to unveil it at the freedom isn't free event. all veterans and families are invited to attend and they are ensighted to have cake and sand -- invited to have cake and sandwiches this well at restaurant on ritchie highway this morning. the man suspect in rape cases says he doesn't know why he couldn't stop attacking women for nearly 20 years. aaron thomas told the washington post women were objects to him and he says he doesn't think he is crazy but knows something is wrong with him. thomas is expected to plead guilty to the abduction of three well in 2009 and a rape in 2001. he was arrested after a multistate effort to cap him. he is the man believed -- catch him. he is believed to be responsible for attacks on 17

women since 1997 including four here in maryland. late night shooting at taco bell in columbia over the weekend still police have no one in custody. manager who is not being named remains in critical condition this morning. howard county police say that there were two men in the parking lot who came up to him and for some reason they started shooting. he made it back into the restaurant where two employees called 911. the taco bell has -- was opened on sunday evening and customers there were learning of what happened and neighboring business owners are coming up with plan themselves. >> [audio not understandable] we hire people to do extra protection. >> so again police are investigating this because the suspects are still on the loose. a nice day at the flea market turns violent. police say that a man was hit in the head with a rubber

mallet. it broke out between two groups around one yesterday. two people are in police custody this morning. in now is around the nation a. veteran does what it takes to protect himself and his wife when an intruder tries to break in. 77-year-old lloyd mccarty was watching television when he heard a light knock and thought it was suspicious so he grabbed his gun. when he came back the intruder was trying to break in and that's he took aim at the door. >> so when he hit that door, that's when i shot through the door. he went to hollering and screaming. and i could hear him down the street hollering. >> his wife called 911 after hearing her hug husband scaring off the would be thief. no word if police were able to catch the person. you have seen thieves trying all sorts of ways to bust into atms now there's another technique to add. a forklift. look at. this no joke. the thief ran the forklift right into the atm in tennessee.

news time 5:40. changes are coming to the macy's thanksgiving day parade. >> if you wonder what they are you will see new floats and a new parade route as well. so for the first time, in the parades, 86 year history the floats will make their way now down 6th avenue and organizers say that it's wider and allows more people to stand on the sidewalk and watch hundreds of volunteers practicing the day before the big parade. >> leading in the -- leading a float in the parade is no joke. >> each one of the balloon handleers under the balloons in the macy's thanksgiving dayparade goes through weeks of training and during the course of the year we have training days and they have to come and understand the arrow dynamics of the balloon and we have a make sure they are physically fit. >> some include elf on a shelf

petraeus affair late october. the affair may have remained secret if not for the threatening e-mails his lover sent to another woman who was close to petraeus jill telly wife of a tampa surgeon and a long time supporter of the military contacted the f. fbi after receiving this threatening e-mail. the e-mails were traced back to paula broadwell the woman petraeus was reportedly having an affair with. broadwell is married mother of two and wrote a biography of petraeus saying they bonded over the shared mental and physical discipline during the trip to afghanistan to interview him. >> an opportunity tore me to interview him on the -- for me to interview him on the run and i thought i would test him and he was going to test me. >> reporter: petraeus was supposed to testify this week on the consulate attack in benghazi but now the cia interim director will speak in his place. linda so, abc2 news. 5:47. five things know as you head out. president obama is inviting leaders from the labor and

business communities to the white house for talks on the fiscal cliff. he will meet with labor representatives as well as other progressive groups tomorrow. the u.s. conference of catholic bishops will hold the annual meeting in baltimore today. they will discuss a wide range of issues over the next two days that meeting will take place at the baltimore marriott water front. new figure shows international enrollment at u.s. college and universities grew nearly 6% last year even as total enrollment was levelingoff. much of the growth at public college notably in the midwest. the holocaust survivor and noble peace prize winner will speak at a jewish facility at convention center. studies says exposure to cell phone radiation during pregnancy may lead to hyperactivity. patients should be cautious with the devices and it's recommended that pregnant women hold the phones away from their body when they are using them. when moms give birth, they

have all sorts of choicess and advice and among the tips is how to properly breast feed. maryland department of health and mental hygiene announces breast feeding policies and recommendations for hospital steek get medical centers to be baby friend -- seeking to get medical centers to be baby friendly environment. they are speaking about the benefits of the new recommendations not just for the baby but as well for the monday. generous blood donation helped to save the life of a 17- year-old and he is hoping up help others like him. daniel was shot on the first day of class at perry hall high school. he received a number of blood units during the stay in the hospital. his family is organizing a blood drive now to help the red cross. they are seeing a shortfall in donations because of hurricane sandy. if you want to roll up your sleeves you can donate blood from 3 to 8 tomorrow at perry hall high school. he and his family will stop by to say hello, to the dopers.

there is no -- donors. there is no doubt the birth of any child a blessing. >> but a family from kent county has not just one or two but four blessings to be grateful. >> there they are on the screen. two girls and two boys they were delivered by a team of doctors and nurses at anne arundel medical center. this is the hospital's second quadruple delivery. the babies were born premature and they will be in the neo natal intensive care unit for few more weeks but we are told that they are all doing well and so are the proud new parents. four babies. >> four babies. unbelievable. time for a check of the forecast. great day to take out the family be it 1, 2 or 4. >> towed is going to be another -- today is going to be another good day. dry and mild and the wet weather will then move in. this morning, stepping out the door, temperatures in the upper 40s andn a lot of spots. hereford and glen oak at 50s in

union bridge andermantown -- and germantown. 56 degrees -- and we are at 45 northeast that's the cooler spot this morning and goldsboro at 50. satellite and radar picking up on clouds. and that will begin to move in here. we could see it towards the west so i am going to call it increasing clouds. you wake up this morning and you will wake up to sunshine but then the clouds will begin to move in. we can see the rain back off toward the west as the big shield of rain that will move in here behind it we are dealing with some much colder air and so 64 degrees is what i am going with today. you can see what's going on on monday which is today. but as we head into tuesday, that jet stream takes the dip brings in the chillier air and we are going to be feeling it. future trend not picking up on a whole lot for today. but then it will begin to work its way going through the nighttime hours into tomorrow morning. so showers and then we will dry out nicely behind that. plenty of sunshine but that sunshine is not going to do much to warm us up. 64 is the high for today.
