way even in west friendship. actually, the temperature is plo freezing, coming in at 30 degrees. and our last stop this morning is cattensville, not much better, 34. you get the picture this morning. as we go throughout the day, temperatures aren't going to warm up so much. i'll show thaw in a second. but maryland's most powerful radar is dry, a far cry from yesterday, we had that wet weather, it's out of here, the cold front is gone and behind it, in the wake of it, we are dealing with temperatures well below average. so here's your planner. you can plan accordingly. you're waking up to some frosty times, 34 degrees and 46 degrees as we head into 10:00, and by this afternoon we're talking about 49 degrees in the forecast for us. that's our high temperature. plenty of sunshine, but that sunshine is going to be better to look at. let's get a check now of the traffic with lauren cook. good morning. >>reporter: good morning, lynette. bring on the sunshine. it'll warm things up a little bit. if you are traveling in baltimore, we do have repairs under way for two water main breaks. one happened yesterday in mount vernon, and it continues to affect traffic on madison street. now, it is open.

you're able to actually travel down it and make a left onto guilford avenue to get downtown, but it's a very active scene still. repairs have not been finished. no word yet on when this 30- inch main will be fixed. now, all of the water has been restored to everyone impacted in the area, businesses, residents, but, again, still going to be an issue. you will want to expect congestion and use 83 or calbert street to get around all the delays. no delays right now on the jfx, and if you are headed out to the beltway, this is what it looks like on the west side at liberty road. you're looking at a 12-minute ride right now on the outer loop from 795 down towards 95 and inner loop will be clear through pikesville. here's what it looks like an hartford road, no problems to report whatsoever. you're looking at normal conditions. 11 minutes right now to travel the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. and the northeast corridor of 95 going to be in great shape. no delays right now in white marsh. it's going to take you 15 minutes to travel southbound from 695 all the way downtown. that's a look at your abc 2 time saver traffic.

charley, over to you. 6:31. and we are tracking breaking news for you today. a house fire in reisterstown sends one woman to the burn unit with burns to more than 50% of her body. that's where we find abc news' sherree johnson this morning. she is live at bayview medical with the very latest on that fire and the woman's condition. sheree. >>reporter: yes. at last reports the woman was reported to be in critical condition, and, yes, she was brought here to bayview medical center in east baltimore just a few hours ago after she was trapped in a fire at her home. now, take a look at this video that we shot earlier this morning. the fire proak out about 1:00 this morning here at 20 blake court in reisterstown. when crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames on the first and second floor. they found a woman in her 60s on the second floor and she was brought here to bayview burn center with severe burns. we are told that she had 50% of her body was actually burned and she's reported to be in critical condition at this hour. now, it took firefighters about an hour for crews to put this out and it was under control at

about 2:20 this morning. 15 fire companies and about 60 firefighters actually joined in to help battle this fire. and here's what the battalion chief had to say. >> the firefighters considering the second floor was almost fully involved. they battled up the steps and found her in one of the bedrooms upstairs. the roof structure collapsed and the second floor. >>reporter: now, crews tell me that they did hear smoke detectors going off in the basement, so they know that the smoke detectors were working at the time of the fire. and right now there's no cause to this fire, but investigators were on the scene. they're still trying to examine and figure out exactly what happened there. reporting live in east baltimore, sherree johnson, abc 2 news. howard county police offering a reward in a taco bell shooting. it happened in colombia just after midnight sunday. police say two masked men were outside the restaurant when they spotted gary graham and another employee walking toward them. that's when police say the men opened fire. graham was shot a number of

times and remains in critical condition. they say that it's dangerous and deadly and a lot of people drive too fast. now people living on one baltimore county road in a neighborhood there are calling for officials to do something about windsor mill road. last night people who live in that area met with police and highway officials. they showed them a survey that was taken back in september in which most people said the road is a huge problem. complainlts include speeding drivers, noisy vehicles, deadly accidents and even cars running into people's houses. >> we want the councilmen, the bureau of highways and our local police to hear the stories of the residents who live along the roadside and what they put up with. >> the meeting was just the beginning of a dialogue. it's not yet clear what the next step will be. for the first time since being reelected president obama will hold a news conference today where he's expected to talk about the so-called fiscal cliff. republicans and democrats have 48 days to come up with an agreement, but on the schedule they're only going to be in session 16 days.

if things don't change, tax cuts will expire for americans in january. the tax center estimates the average household can face a tax increase of $3500. >> we typically get a refund, and, you know, thinking that that might not be a possibility for some people who do use that money at the end of the year to take care of big expenses, you know, that would be a tough -- that'll be tough. >> you want to put this in numbers you can understand. we're talking around $120 a pay check being taken out of your monthly pay check. that's what you're looking at right now. democrats want higher taxes on the wealthy. they always say that. and they want to keep current tax rates right there for the middle class. republicans want to cut government spending. president obama plans to meet with congressional leaders from both parties. that meeting is set for friday. today the fbi and the cia are expected to tell lawmakers what they know about the scandal that brought down cia chief david petraeus and shined light on one of the top military commanders. officials uncovered thousands of what's being called now

what's going on today, we are definitely talking about some cooler temperatures out there, but also some dry times out there as well. so we'll start you off with the radar, maryland's most powerful radar, not a whole lot to see. we are nice and dry. a big difference from what we had yesterday, right? we'll take that. but then we look over towards the temperatures and this is what we're looking at. we can see this big blue blob on the map, so what this is basically saying is that we're in for a trek of some colder weather across the area. that will continue as we go through time. but let's go ahead and zoom in on our area. our temperatures this morning coming in very cold, coming in at 33 degrees in bel aire, 30 in colombia, 29 degrees, we are looking at temperatures that are below freezing this morning, and we are not going to warm up that much as we go throughout the day. we can see the planner as we start you out at 8:00, still quite frosty. temperature coming in at 34. very cold still as we go into lunchtime today. yes, we'll have lots of sunshine, but that's not going to do much to warm us up. 49, 43, that's our high temperature as we go through the day. let's get a check now of the

abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. >>reporter: good morning, lynette. we are dealing with some fog up in fredrick, so do expect reduced visibility. and in anne arundel county we do have a crash on route 50 that's blocking all eastbound lanes right now at bay dale drive. if you are traveling in baltimore city, water main break repairs continue on madison street right near falls way. now, madison street is now open. you can actually take it, make a left onto guilford avenue to get downtown, but you will want to expect delays. more break break repairs on north charles street. that's actually going to be shut down north avenue to 21st street. your best alternate routes are going to be calbert street and 83. and there are no delays right now on the jfx. if you are traveling the beltway, this is what it looks like on the west side. traffic starting to pick up. we are looking at a 14-minute ride right now on the outer loop from 795 down to 95 and congestion starting to build here in parkville at hartford road. inner loop nice and clear to 95, but that outer loop will be stop and go as you make your drive up towards providence

me that they heard smoke detectors going off in the basement once they pulled up to the fire. right now there's no word on a cause of the fire, but investigators were on the scene, they plan to look into it to see exactly what happened there. reporting live in east baltimore, sherree johnson, abc 2 news. an mta bus driver has been suspended after a fight between her and a young passenger was caught on camera. the beating was recorded by a cell phone user and another passenger, then posted to youtube. and abc 2 news' linda stow is here with more on this fight and what the mta is saying today, most importantly i think people want to know, linda, how did this start? >>reporter: right. everyone wants to know that question. the video actually doesn't show what happened before the fight, but when it was posted to youtube, it says the bus driver hit the young woman because her music was playing too loud. now that bus driver has been suspended while the mta investigates. take a look at the video. it shows the driver punching and then wrestling the girl to the back of the bus. mta officials say the girl was a student from a local school.

the video shows the two scuffling for more than a minute. when they finally separate, the driver says the girl was being disrespectful. the fight happened monday afternoon on the number 40 bus line near baltimore and packa streets. mta police are investigating the incident. >> if an operator feels like they are in some kind of physical danger to themselves, then and only then are they allowed to engage a customer, but under no circumstance do we condone an operator fighting with a passenger. >>reporter: now, that driver has been with the mta since 2003. she's been removed from service while the agency investigates. mta says it's been in contact with the girl to get her side of the story. linda stow, abc 2 news. imagine being able to go through airport security quicker than anyone else. for some select flyers, that's going to become a reality at bwi. the airport is announcing plans today to start using tsa

precheck programs. flyers on u.s. airways, delta and united can get through their screenings quicker than when traveling domestically. bwi is the 32nd airport to start the precheck program and they have 4 million users since that program began. as of today, the public will begin hearing about the possibility of parking garage rest rooms in annapolis. mayor joshua cohen and other leaders will be on hand to make that announcement at noon. the rest rooms will be open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. the members will meet at the hillan parking garage for a ribbon-cutting facility. maryland casino is hiring. that company will host a job fair today and tomorrow, filling the newest spots for the restaurant the prime rib. full and part-time positions are open for cooks, servers, buskers and hostesses. you can apply at the company's website. each year thousand of us have to make a choice, go to work or call in sick and not get paid. one group hopes to now change

that. the maryland campaign for paid sick days kicks off at 11:00 today at westminster hall on west fayette street. the goal is to get paid sick leave for all maryland workers. part of today's kickoff includes a discussion on how sick leave improves public health, benefits businesses and protects the family. time now for five things you may want to know on this wednesday, a most wanted list is being released today but not of the country's most dangerous criminals. it's coming from the national transportation safety board. the list outlines major safety issues the ntsb wants to focus on in 2013. we'll have an update for you today into the investigation into a deadly meningitis outbreak connected to steroid shots. the commissioner of the fda is testifying before congress today. more than 30 people have died and dozens more have become ill since september. today is world diabetes day it coincides with the birthday of fredrick banting. he was one of two men who discovered insulin in 1922 as a

loop congestion congested as well here at hartford road and that will continue up towards providence road. an update now on the woman who was sentenced to hold a sign in public after she drove over a sidewalk to get around a stopped school bus. shena harden held that sign on day one of her two-day punishment yesterday. it reads "only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus." now, the crime was caught on camera and those who saw holding the sign, take a look at this here, she's texting, she's on phone. she's not learning her lesson. >> it was a good idea, but it's not getting through to her. she's standing there acting like she's smug. >> i saw her smoking a cigarette and kicking it on the street corner. word of harden's behavior got back to the judge who sentenced her. she says, the judge did, that she now plans to join her on her second day of the punishment today and apparently it drew a wealth of reporters too. so what is the lesson here in this, lynette charles? >> you don't drive on the sidewalk. ding, ding, ding.
