>> don't hate, but appreciate. in baltimore. i'm lamont williams. >> i love that. they're rooting for the ravens. we're rooting for them. a shooting at a light rail station. we'll have a live report an abc2 news at 6 which starts right now. oh, it's a mess. a snowy messy nasty commute. when the storm is headed out of our area. day one of the phylicia barnes murder trial. a witness said he saw barnes' dead body. >> we're dealing with snow and bitterly cold temperatures. can the cold make you sick? now to that breaking news we first told you b a man was shot near the light rail station.

>> it happened at about 4:15 at ridgely road and lutherville. the victim was rushed to shock trauma. christian schaffer has more. >> this is behind the plaza off ridgely road. it's still a pretty active scene. a lot of investigators, police still here. we're told the shooting happened on that platform where the train would normally stop at the light rail station. this time they're not stopping. they're by passing as the investigation continues. investigators have been paying special interest to these dark bags on the ground right now. atz i look, they were taking some photos of those bags earlier. some of the investigators have taken what looks like the brun evidence bags and are getting set to put some of that evidence into those bags to take back for further investigation. did those things that are on the ground, they look like a backpack -- did they belong to

the victim? hard to say but that's certainly a piece of the investigation that the police have been taking a very close look at throughout the afternoon. once again, a shooting at the light rail stop at the lutherville light rail stop. one victim taken to shock trauma with what's being described as serious injuries. at this time we have to assume that police are looking for the gunman in this case. we'll keep you updated. for now, we're live in lutherville, christian schaffer. >> the other big story we're following is snow falling all over our area tonight. >> we have team coverage of the storm starting with meteorologist mike masco. we have the latest on the snow and how long it will fall. no pressure at all. >> you know, guys, a lot of snow, not a lot of snow, unfortunately. it was a taste of snow. take a look at the shot.

things looking good. this is our most popular radar, just some light banding of snow along 40 toward hampden, woodlawn seeing some of those bands of snow showers. we'll slide it up toward cecil county. that's where we find the most snow action. this is a moderate clip. this will run along into calvert and back down into 95. tidings bridge seeing moderate snow. that came in with the clipper. notice back to the west starting to see things clearing out, winchester, right along 81. that is the back edge of the snow. as quick as it came in this will be out in the next half an hour to an hour. 18 degrees. it's 63. 18 in bel air. we wish it was 63. the snow will be part of the

cranked up, it's easy to spread. your best line of defense to get through these cold temperatures and the flu season is to wash your mnds often. the best time to do that before you eat, after going outside and the bathroom. is he a credible witness? the state outlined the case against phylicia's older sister's brother. he told jurors he saw phylicia's lifeless body on the day police said she went missing. the defense attacked his credibility. jurors were also told they would see a sex tape involving the suspect. the trial will resume monday

morning. in another courtroom, a charge is dropped against anne arundel county executive john leopold. >> however, he is still faced with fighting three counts of misconduct in office and one count of fraud. cheryl conner has more. she's in annapolis tonight. >> reporter: the defense team got the day started with an argument to dismiss all charges. leopold's attorney said, quote, misconduct as a crime is constitutionally vague and overly broad. the judge said leopold as an exordinary political history with 11 elections under his belt so he should know the difference between right and wrong. >> you can't use county time and county taxpayer's money to have police officers standing by while you're having sex. that came out in the courtroom. >> reporter: the defense argued leopold had bad judgment but it

doesn't amount to a crime -- something we don't hear often in the courtroom laughter when he said what if he was a married man and wanted to go home for a nooner with his wife. several testified that the executive had them drive to a bowling alley parking lot so he could have sex with a county employee. the cleave of staff -- chief of staff said he campaigned for him in 2010 on county time. after three hours of argument judge sweeney dropped one county of misconduct involving theft of campaign signs saying the state didn't present enough evidence, so leopold is charged with three counts of misconduct in office and one count of fraud for misusing county mon i.d -- money. if he is found guilty on any of the charges, the chairman said most likely a bill would be

introduced to vote him out of office. in that case five of seven members would have to aroom the defense called a doctor who evidence back surgery and showed x-rays of the spine and said he felt more comfortable allowing leopold to be discharged from the hospital knowing his security officers were able to had hem. those same officers said they had to empty his urine bag into a condition container. >> reporter: the defense should wrap up next book with the judge having the final verdict. the ravens are practicing in advance of next weekend's super bowl in new orleans. the bayou will be very different than baltimore. >> the ravens took it practice
