or be voted out of office by county council. today jurors will continue to hear testimony in the phylicia barnes murder trial. they spent 15 minutes watching an illistit sex tape involving phylicia and her sift and michael johnson and his younger brother. the tape found on deena cell phone is evidence of the harm phylicia and they laid out a timeline saying they believe johnson was the last person to see the very many alive. today we will learn more about what officials are doing to protect our children. baltimore county school superintendent dallas dance will join the police chief and county executive to announce school safety and security recommendations. this is the first step in the long-term plan to improve school safety and security. the recommendations are a result of an ongoing review into school policies. the sad day in maryland as people all over the state mourn

the loss of delegate hattie harrison. show was a member of the house of delegates since 197 3. she was the longest serving member and the first african american female to chair a legislative committee. this morning, a story you will see here on abc2. >> a pastor closed his church for good after a series of crimes targeting house of wore zip. >> over the weekend, police notified pastor les thompson someone vandalized the first mount carmel baptist church. suspect knocked a hole in the message board and ripped off railing and smashed the windows. this is not the first time the church was attacked. last year someone caught propane line that could have sparked anexplosion and they say the other person sent this message. >> when they put two bullets shells on the steps that's letting me know they are going

text, he entitled it dad you know. and it makes me feel good. don't just say coach e says thanks pop. >> reporter: after an arm injury might have brought an untimely end to lewis' long career there were more text messages. >> i remember, you know, texting him and saying keep your head up. great things will happen for you. and he shot me a text back saying hey dad everything is going to be okay e said no weapon formed against me so i figured then was back working out and just getting rade to come back. >> reporter: lewis plans to he re-- ready to come back. >> reporter: lewis plans to retire after the superbowl and coach joe will be there. >> it's a chance to talk with him a couple days ago-said i want to finish the race with him and he said he is on it. >> reporter: lewis is bringing coach joe and his wife to the game. and joe is predicting lewis will leave him with another lasting impression, a win. >> coach joe from the beginning and there for the end.

our state senators are also hoping the ravens win. they placed a friendly bet with lawmakers from california and it involved food. mikulski and cardin are betting crab cakes and beer and barbara boxer and diane feinstein is betting cheeses and senators from each state will have to pay up if the team loses. wonder how the cheese will taste. stephanie rawlings-blake said at the pep rally she is still waiting for colorado's mayor -- denver's may to pay up on his bet. >> he has not agreed to do the ray lewis dance. he has a bad back. >> and ray lewis played with his injuries this guy could cans like him. the story on the road yesterday was ice and now it's patchy fog. >> at least it's not dense fog. we have about 5 miles of reduced visibility in baltimore

news time 4:42. it's a miracle he survived. a sold year who lost all four limbs -- soldier who lost all four limbs received a double arm transplant at johns hopkins. linda so is live this morning at the hospital with all the details. linda. >> reporter: later this morning, we will get a chance to meet the soldier and the surgeon who performed the complex transplant. they will hold a news conference here at the hospital at 11 this morning.

this is video from before the transplant. brendan marrocco is the first to survive lieuing all four limbs in the iraq war. he underwent the complex transplant last month and it's the first time hopkins performed a double arm transplant involving connecting bones blood vessels muscles and nerves and skin on both arms. it involved a innovative treatment involving the deaddonor's bone marrow to help hisbody from reexpwrecting the limbs. -- rejecting the limbs. he is one of 7 u.s. soldiers to received a successful double arm transplant. he will spend the next 3 to 4 months at hopkins and will return to a military hospital for further physical therapy. that news conference is scheduled for 11 this morning. we are live at hopkins, linda so, abc2 news. first you had to worry about the flu virus now another nasty virus making its way

around the country a new strain of the newer row virus eye dent night in us a -- eye dent night first in us a -- identified first in australia. it can live on surfaces outside the body. along with nausea and vomiting it can cause diarrhea and fatigue. doctors say the symptoms hit allof a sudden and if you have the virus you should stay home and call your doctor. another salmonella outbreak this morning. this time it's ground beef. officials say 16 people have gotten sick after eating raw or undercooked meat. none of the cases are in maryland. however a michigan company is recalling 500 pounds of the ground beef to avoid people getting sick. the cdc says you should cook ground beef thoroughly and never eat it raw. we will learn about 58 healthy child care sites in the area. howard county official also recognize facilities later this morning. child care sites are recognized for efforts to improve the health and well-being of the kids they look after. this is part of an initiative aimed at guiding family

in the country. four people have been arrested in connection with the nightclub fire. moo are than 230 people -- more than 230 people were killed when the fire raced through the kiss nightclub. the owner of the club and two band members and the security chief has been taken into custody and questioned by police. investigators believe the band's pyrotechnics show set off a fire inside the nightclub apparently the club had only one exit when the fire broke out. hundreds of people were injured in the chaos. >>i was trying to get out. the staff stopped me and i yelled fire, fire. but the security guards were not realizing what was going on. >> the club's owner is vowing to cooperate fully with the investigation. they have denied reports that the club's license has expired. time for five things to know on this tuesday morning. the confirmation hearing for secretary of state designate john kerry continues in washington. he is suspected to get the support need for the
