and that child has died. it happened at howard and fayette streets. he was rushed to shock trauma where he died. there's no word on the condition of the other two. as for the suspect, all police can tell us they're looking for a man wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt. not clear if the stabbing haddian thing to do with -- had anything to do with the super bowl celebration. there's breaking news in the phylicia barnes murder trial. the jury stopped deliberations late this afternoon to ask the judge a question. brian kuebler joins us with the latest. >> reporter: between yesterday and today the jury spent about 10 hours negotiating. they asked to see two pieces of evidence. one is the walmart video showing

michael buying that blue tote and the other is the sex video. the judge is bringing them into the courtroom to review the video. up to this point we haven't heard a peep out of the jury. now jurors have a mountain of evidence to review including hundreds of text messages, and phone calls and trying to lay out the timeline. most of the state's case is circumstantial and lacks that key piece of evidence. that is the defense' main point in this case. the state contends that sex tape depict phylicia, her older sister, michael johnson and his brother is a key turning point and helps establish a motive for johnson developing feelings for

we'll talk about how things will change through the day tomorrow and especially into your weekend straight ahead. now to a disturbing story out of columbia where people have charged a high school student with raping a classmate. joce sterman spoke with howard county police. what have you learned? >> reporter: the 17-year-old suspect was arrested at school and has been charged as an adult. the rape happened yesterday at wildlife high school during the school day. a shawn rashid jones and a 14-year-old agreed to cut class. he pulled her into an empty room. that's when the rape happened. >> this girl was braved. she told a friend. she was distraught. within the home and told her family. that is the right thing to do no mat thr how up setting a

situation like this might be. >> reporter: jones has been charged with second degree rape. we have contacted the school system but have not heard back. now an update to the breaking news we brought you first last night. baltimore city fire officials said the five firefighters who were trapped under a building collapse battling a four alarm, have been released. the statement said the firefighters are beaten up, bruised and battered. luckily, they all escaped with non-life-threatening joirs -- injuries. new details are emerging in that dramatic rescue of that 5-year-old boy in alabama. he is now home with his family. we have the latest on his captor and what police were finally able to go on to get in. >> reporter: it was the happy

ending the entire nation had been hoping for. after being rescued from a bunker, an unharmed 5-year-old sitting up on a stretcher being wheeled to safety. he was held hostage for nearly a week but today his family said he's doing just fine. >> he's happy, happy to be home. he's very excited. like i said, he's happy to be home and he looks good. he looks good. >> reporter: ethan's great aunt and uncle share their relief. >> if i could, i would do cartwheels down the road. >> reporter: residents celebrated, too. >> right now we're truly blessed to see god work a miracle. >> reporter: the ordeal began when james lee dykes killed a school bus driver and snatched the boy. >> things will change.

you, kill you. >> okay. scary phone call. imagine getting that message on your phone. a la la woman started receiving disturbing calls like that one. at first she was told she won more than $2 million but she evngsly sensed it was a scam when asked for money and told the scammers she wasn't interested. that's when the calls got even scarier. >> i'm still spooked. it's not every day someone threatens your life. >> police can't do anything about it because the calls have originated in jail ca. the better business bureau said you should never give out your personal information. if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. they probably thought it was a joke but two men pointing a laser at a news helicopter could have put the pilot in danger and could and up in jail. the two culprits were caught on
