. police are searching for the body of a 2-year-old after they say her mother admitted to killing her and putting her in a dumpster. police are trying to track where the load from the dumpster is now. the 25-year-old is charged with first and second degree murder. there is a confirmed case of meningitis at loyola.

a letter was sent to students telling them act the case. those who live near the infected student were told and offered medication. it's not highley contagious but it's important to catch it early. and new developments tuesday's stabbing of a 15-year- old. police have released pictures of the crime. they are confirming the victim and his friends attended the ravens parade and the stabbing happened in a huge crowd leaving the event. police hope the images may led to an arrest. >> we are watching two storm systems headed toward the east coast. this one putting down significant snow and then the coastal runner starting to form up. we are cloudy with a light winter mix by daybreak. more by tomorrow night. temperatures in the upper 30s to near 41. we are above freezing for now.

higher prices. >> on top of that airlines will continue to find ways to add more sur charges. american and united could announce a deal as early as next week but it'll take at least a year for it to be complete. the decision to delay saturday mail could affect netflix. people are expected to watch fewer dvds for the same monthly price. movie that used to arrive on saturday won't arrive until monday. you can always avoid the process and just see streaming. you should see more healthy options in smaller portion sizes at restaurants. regulations will require calorie counts on menus. restaurants are also responding to consumer demand for healthier options. the smaller portions will not necessarily be any cheaper. of course no, sir.

west of the chesapeake but heavier rain eastover night as that storm continues to pass off shore. there will be wrap around snow as we go past the evening. this is where we get into dicey weather for maryland. especially from baltimore north and east. cecil, hartford and kent on the eastern shore. it blows out saturday but there could be accumulation in the wake of this thing, couple of inches worth especially for cecil as we go into the saturday morning time frame. two storms, one big one and that's of the core the coastal runner out of the carolina's, a texas low, northeast, that secondary low coming in. creating a sort of a winter bomb if you will how we call them. this one north of long island. for maryland on that cut off and it'll be a sharp cut off. we won't see the huge snow

totals but 20 inches plus. this will be really tough travels, back here in maryland this is what we anticipate for the moment. this could shift further south or we could get more of a cutoff and have less snow but this is the middle ground thinking right now with that two to three inch rain. maybe dipping in to hartford and across through chester town and eastern shore. you get in around a one to two inch rain. wet snow, overnight, overnight tomorrow night. this is not tomorrow morning. this is overnight tomorrow night into saturday and maybe a coating for dc. this is the middle ground. could be under the totals or could go higher if we get a band in here out of the north. stay tuned for the news at six and 11. 34 overnight. winter showers possible in to the morning. then we convert to rain. tomorrow is a wind and rain day. by tomorrow night we will be changing over to"? and -- snow. the next few days, 30s on tap.

into the 40s on sunday. it'll clear out fast saturday and then a cold and windy day. the wild card timing for us is late tomorrow evening into early saturday morning. it's that overnight time period. we will see what happens. tomorrow morning a brief rain, snow mix possible. that will quickly change to rain. >> we will have to watch that. all right. we will watch you. thank you. a big announcement from nasa that an asteroid will make a record pass near earth next week. mike is tracking it from here. he has the latest on just how close it'll come. >> reporter: close enough to give a scare. sciencists will watch the skies. the asteroid is expected to come very close to the planet next friday. officials announced a 40-meter long piece of rock will just miss earth next friday afternoon as it zips through space. to give you the idea of how big it is take a football field, just a bit more than that.

what makes it unique is how close it'll come to earth. space rock will miss us by only 17,000 miles. nasa said it'll fly inside the satellite orbit before turning back into space and on a track like this the asteroid will become the closest rock to ever fly by earth without impacting it. they have come close and some have hit but this one, being as big as it is, this would be a big problem if it did hit. should a last minute shift -- be and we aren't anticipating it, they are giving it a 0% chance. it's called a city killer. it would be able to wipe out a entire city if they hit the planet. that is disturbing but 0 chance of that happening. i did look at some stats, the

. it seems like valentine displays have been up since the day after christmas. a new survey finds americans will spend $18.6 billion on valentine's day gifts this year. karen breaks down the findings including who spends more, men or women. >> reporter: retailers anticipate americans will spend more on their it sweethearts but they will be caution. >> they want to stay on budget but still want to find something special. >> reporter: the retail federation finds shoppers will spend about $131 on valentine's day gifts, up about $5 from last year. $1.6billion will be spent on candy, 1.9 billion on flowers, and 4.4 billion on jewelry. it'll be more budget than bring.
