thousands are still without power. the messy aftermath of the howling storm that swept through the northeast. the storm impacted more than 40 million people. >> does it look like a hurricane eye? it does as this storm pulls away from the coastline. it is low enough to be kind of similar to a category 1 hurricane. >> reporter: the monster nor'easter had 80-mile-an-hour winds whipping up tides, bringing the ocean lapping against houses, damage and rescues in coastal communities as the snow, more than three feet in some areas reached havoc in other parts of the northeast. >> never ever. they could pay me as much as they want, i will never do this again. >> reporter: many flits still grounded. roads closed. a heartbreaking day for some. the storm being blamed for at least five deaths including that of a 12-year-old in boston

overcome by car bon monoxide fumes while the father tried to get the snow off the car. >> next thing you know the father is screaming he is not breathing. >> morning after a storm that won't be forgotten for so many reasons. >> reporter: the aftermath so extreme mass transit is still shut down. marcy gonzalez, abc news, boston. >> they were affected by more than the weather up north today. a shuttle bus overturned right near the airport injuring two people. the crash happened around 6:30 in the morning at the intersection of aviation boulevard and terminal road. two people had to go to the hospital, minor injuries reported. the bus hit a pole and the power to the light rail so the service in the area is still out from 6:30 this morning. mta police are out there and they said the light rail police are also investigating this.

>> for us know shoveling, no worry about schools tomorrow, just a nice february day. here is mike mass quo with what the night will hold for us. >> you can't say that every year. nice february day. temperatures seasonable but clouds start together build in. we'll be socked in with the clouds going into tonight. even rain developing a little after the midnight hour. wheel we're at 41, go to the north and west, you're starting to fall into the freezing mark and that is a little bit of a concern because any precipitation that comes in tonight could fall in the form of freezing drizzle for tomorrow morning's commute. showers will work in in the overnight hours. cooler to the north and west. we'll get you around 38 waking up to showers. lunchtime temperatures, into the 50s tomorrow. that blizzard is out of here, but here is storm number 2. in the stretches from snows, down over the gulf coast, we'll detail that coming up.

>> now to a developing story, police have now made an arrest in the triple shooting that left one dead and two injured. the shooting happened last month outside an aren't hour's nightclub here. police have arrested and charged the 26-year-old ricky horton for the homicide. the family commissioned their own report that challenges the findings. they say that the free report which was accepted by penn state is loaded with errors, and bias. they are upset that it said paterno concealed facts to avoid bad pub bless ty so sue paterno is going to try to set the record straight tomorrow at 4:00 with katie couric. she says our lives are about our children and making them better and not hurting them and it is vile. that is the best word i can

there were only a few things that were able to be saved. >> reporter: she makes a few trips around the trucks as a thank you from the men and women in uniform, their gear, their bunkers. she has become like family at many fire stations in maryland. >> it was one of the worst days of our lives. to see the kids lose things we'll never be able to replace. >> reporter: they found those basic items were most important when their lives were shifted to a hotel. lauren and blanket and stuffed animals, one month after her fire, she started stuffing bags with essentials that now firefighters can handout to other victims. >> we appreciate you stopping by and bringing these bags for us and we wanted to give you this little thank you card. >> $100 gift card so she can do more shopping. >> having a stuffed animal at night is a huge deal.

today 42, a below average day. 66 in the books back in 1960. take a look at temperatures across town. while it is 41 in baltimore city. going to the outlying areas, a little bit of a concern. northand west from 70 to manchester, your temperatures now below freezing so that means any precipitation that enters the area, that could maybe fall in the form of freezing drizzle. be aware of that tomorrow morning. here are the clouds coming in now. notice cloudy skies hour by hour forecharacter. cloudy skies giving way to showers after midnight. watch temperatures rise at 38 going to 45 around lunchtime. i think our afternoon high gets to around 50, maybe 55 degrees. not bad before cold air moves in. showers arrive late tonight. you go under a freezing rain advisory. then we'll return to an active maybe snowy pattern. i'll show you that and seven-

day forecast. it is clear overhead but look down to the south from jackson, mississippi active tornado warnings, all along the gulf coast states. this will provide us some rain late tonight. warm front, cold front. running into cooler air. temperatures falling into the 30s, 34 new york city. 40s and down to 60 in charleston, south carolina. that is the mild air coming into cold air. that es why maybe some freezing drizzle north and west of town. that is well north and west of the beltway so if you have a commute to the north, just note it could be a slick commute tomorrow morning. rain showers and again ice pellets developing during the morning commute and then warming up. cloudy skies for much of the day tomorrow. then clearing going into tuesday. then another storm system. area of low pressure going from

wednesday into valentine's day will develop off the carolina coastline. there are two tracks. that would bring it up to the coast. that would mean some sleet, maybe some snow. this would be wednesday into thursday while the european takes this off shore. this storm will be down to the south and east. then another storm will develop into the latter portion of this week. so the call is 28. be coming cloudy, light rain develops and by tomorrow double nickels. well above average. around 28 tomorrow night so cooler air funnels in behind that front. so your seven-day forecast, breezy, cooler on tuesday, 45. there is that storm again. staying south, but look at the guidance around 11:00. we'll take a brake from the storms and then another storm to watch over the weekend. it does look like it could be white if it moves up the coast, around the freezing mark. could this be the storm that brings a few inches? certainly possible. we will have to take a look at

well, you know the national guard doesn't usually help deliver babies but extreme weather up north meant several guardsmen had to spring into
