delays right now on the west side. heading over to towson west ofyork road, the beltway is nice and clear. no issues getting down the inner loop to 95 and outer loop up towards 83. and speaking of 83 heading up to hunt valley, that is live look at shawan road, the normal 21 minute ride from the maryland pennsylvania state line all the way down to the beltway. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic now over to you. news time 4:32. this morning police are investigating the death of another maryland student this time on the campus of the university of maryland eastern shore. police say a student was stabbed by a group of men and abc2 news sherrie johnson joins us with the latest on the story. >> reporter: good morning. family and friends are trying to come to terms with the death of 21-year-old edmon st. clair a junior biology major and want to be a doctor. he was killed on the campus of the university of maryland eastern shore on saturday night. his brother and cousin tried to

console his mother this weekend. they were with him when that attack happened. st. clair younger brother says he was driving a car on campus when edmond got out and approached a group of men. there was an altercation and st. clair was stabbed. homicide investigators are looking for three suspects. the witnesses say they did not recognize the men but police think the stabbing followed an ongoing dispute. >> i seen somebody push him but they didn't just push him they stabbed them and looked like they went like this. >> reporter: the university put out a statement saying the machining notification system was act vade and police are -- activated. and police are working with a vague suspect. baltimore police say that a trainer academy will resume limited operations. exercises at the academy were

suspend after an -- suspended after a instructor shot a trainee in the head. anthony bass will meet with the academy this week and training will resume but he says that firearm practices will be moved to the end of the curriculum. the officer who was shot during last week's training at the rosewood center was critically injured and is still in the hospital this morning. officials say it will take sometime for police to file charges associate with -- associated with the raid at the flea market because they have to sift through thest first. they were looking for things like cds, dvds, ug-gs, apple products, you name it. more than dozen vendors are accused of selling fake products and police say the raid was on individual vendors and the flea market is not shutting down. developing story to tell you about out of this nation's capital. congress and the president has less than two weeks to reach a

deal before sequestration goes into effect. what that is is a series of government wide spending cuts that could affect everything from the military, education and how long you wait at airport security lines. we have late the latest on the- - we have the latest on the hot button phrase. >> reporter: phrases like fiscal cliff and debt ceiling behindous the americans have sequestration to worry about. if congress takes no action, across the board spending cuts will be imposed on march 1st. democrats on thursday proposed toe delay the cuts. >> we can't cut research and develop and the american people understand that. >> we are talking about 2 1/2% of what we spend this year and this is just the first year of 10 years of cuts. so you have to be realistic about this. families all across the country have had their budgets cut by larger than that. >> reporter: the 85 billion

dollars in cuts to federal agencies could lead to furloughs for as many as 2 million workers. the pentagon fears it could have a drastic effect on -- and republicans says it's coming. >> we are here because the president back in the last session of congress refused to cut spending in in anyplace and we wound up with it. >> reporter: there's uncertainty over the deadline senator schumer appears confident the sequester will be avoided. >> their arguments don't meet the favor of hardly anyone other than themselves and the few whose special interest they areprotecting. >> reporter: finding the balance has evade lawmakers. shelby lynn reporting from atlanta. >> the budgets cuts were averted at the beginning of the year in a scaled back fiscal cliff. if you need to update the washing machine or refridge rayor, today is the day to do

news time 4:41. and now for a look making headlines around the nation. she burst on the music scene in 1996 with the hit guys do it all the time. this morning sad news in the country music world. mindy mccready is dead. the 37-year-old country music singer was found dead in her arkansas home. authorities say her body was on the front porch with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. she was a troubled star once claiming to have an affair withbaseball legend roger clemens and struggled with addiction and mental illness she was halfway through a 21- day treatment program that she started after her boyfriend

died last month. she leaves behind two sons a 6- year-old and a son who is 10 month sold. the parents of a 2-year-old allegedly slapped by a passenger during a flight are spending out this morning. incident happened as jessica bennett and her son jonah were flying to atlanta over the weekend. they were seated next to a 60- year-old man named joe houndley. as the plane began -- houndley as the plane began to descend he got fussy and he allegedly used a racial slur and slammed the boy hitting him in the ire. the boy's mother says other passengers rushed in to help. >> i couldn't believe that he would say something like that and to a baby or about a baby and then to hit him was just -- i felt like i was in another world. >> hundley was the president of a aircraft parts company has been fired and charged with simple assault and could face a year in jail. they were stranded for five

days -- in deplorable conditions and this morning one passenger has filed a lawsuit. casey kerry describes her last days as living in what she calls "floating hell. the suit claims carnival failed to provide a sea worthy ship and sanitary conditions. she claims to have suffered physical and emotional harm during the cruise. carnival has offered passengers $500, a free flight home and a full refund as well as a credit for another cruise. water sipping on tv went viral on social media and now marco rubio is cashing in. they have raised 100,000 dollars by selling over 3400 water bottles. the bottle with the name rubioin bright red letters comes with a minimum donation of 25 bucks. during republican response to the state of the union, you see it here, he took a sip while staring into the camera.

more like we are about 15, 11 degrees in hickory and also owings mills. let's look at graphics as we have chances for some shthrough and this is why. we look at the surface and we have a cold front that's going to make its way in here and once it does, it will bring if precipitation. we are talking about freezing rain and sleet as we go through time. we will be dealing with the fact that temperatures are going to shoot back up as we go into tomorrow. but that won't be the case today. today is going to be very coldday. abc2's most accurate trend goes into motion and we see the cold front. look at the snow back off towards the west. the rain coming in from the south and these two will come together. now, this is tomorrow at 8. and this is just a depiction that could come in earlier and come in later. maybe around 9. 10. and if it does so that's when we will try to see what type of precip we will get. but most likely we will see the freezing rain and also that
