powerful radar. we are dry but back off toward the south, that's where we are seeing that heavy rain now pushing atlanta. all this spreading across tennessee valley and south carolina. look at this pink here. that is little bit of wintery mix that's going to be work its way towards us. the onset we could see sleet mixing with rain but all in all we will be seeing plenty of rain as we go throughout the day. we are talking about flood potential. so with that, we have a flood watch. this means we do have the potential to get flooding so we are talking about one to two inch of rain when it's all said and done for tomorrow morning. this goes into effect this afternoon and you can see it for the areas outlined in the green color. back off towards the west is where we are dealing with wintery type of advisories. so a winter weather advisory back into western maryland, we don't have any concerns with that for today. we are going to be dealing with the reiny conditions and it's cold this morning. let's get a check of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren

cook. >> reporter: the rain and wintery mix could affect the commute later today. but right now, the roid are -- roid are in pretty good -- road are in pretty good shape. clear from the beltway to fayette street. no problems through the fort mchenry tunnel or harbor tunnel. traveling on 695, checking in and look live at the northwest corner, at old court road not too many cars out there. a 7p minute ride on the outer loop from 795 to 70 and everything will remain in great shape in parkville. here's the beltway at harford road. no problems traveling the inner loop to 95 and outer loop nice and clear all the way up to towson. that's your abc2 timesaver traffic now over to you. breaking news out of egypt. 19 tourists have dead after a hot air balloon crash that happened this morning near luxor. officials say there was a fire and explosion before the balloon came plunging from the sky. and some of the people killed were from france, britain and

china. no word on american tiewrtists and -- tourists in the balloon. down load abc2's free app and stay with us on twitter under the har tag gmn. the u.s. supreme court will begin hearing arguments on legality of investigators taking dna samples from those even not convicted of a specific crime. >> the case stems from a 2003 rape and murder conviction of a woman and the conviction of her killer six years later. sherrie johnson is here with more on what's expecteded in court -- expected in court. >> reporter: the case of a salisbury man takes place. alonso king was arrested on assault charges they took his dna which matched the sample from the victim and he was linked to the rape. at issue before the court is

the maryland dna collection act. is it constitutional or whether the state says once arrested you lose that privacy right. this is is a law that allows officials to take the dna from those arrested but not convicted of a serious crime. king's lawyers moved to suppress the evidence saying the draw violated his constitutional rights. but the lower court found king guilty of first degree rape and sentenced him to life in prison. last april, the maryland court of appeals ruled against a key provision of the law. doug gantler says he is confident state will beat the challenge of weather collecting dna before conviction is an infringement on the right of privacy. >> i expect they will uphold thestatute. >> reporter: all states require dna from individuals convicted of a felony, the federal government and 28 states require dna collection and

analysis from some arrestees. sherry johnson, abc2 -- sherrie johnson a.bc2 news. bradley manning will be in fort meade for a pretrial hearing. the judge is expected to rule on the motion to dismiss him for a lack of a speedy trial. if the judge doesn't dismiss the charges, manning's trial will again in june. it's going to be a busy day in annapolis. lawyers will hear from the aclu on a variety of issues. first, the leaders from the organization are backing a bill that will protect pregnant women in our state from discrimination. the law explains employers' obligation to treat pregnant employees the same way they treat other temporarily physically limited workers. the aclu is testifying in support of a bill requiring search warrants for police to access cell phone tracking information. you see back in 2011, cell phone carriers responded to more than a million requests

florida will gather and martin was killed on february 26th one year ago. george zimmerman said he shot him in self-defense and claims the teen punched him bloodied his face and slammed his head against the ground. he was arrested and charged with second degree murder in marten's death and now the young -- martin's death and now the young teen's family continues to work to preserve his memory. >> a candlelight ceremony in new york and we have done something in miami and we have done a peace walk to let teens know that they have a right to walk in peace. >> reporter: >> and after lengthy court battle zimmerman was released on bail. the trial will begin june 10th. sanford has gotten a new belies chief that will begin in april. the former chief lost his job after being criticized about the way he handled the case. news around nation right now, today family and friends will say their last good-bye to mindy mccready who will be laid
