of sunshine for today. this morning, we are coolish, that's what i'm going to call it. you need a light sweater or light jacket but into the afternoon, you will put that thing away. the temperatures right now 46 degrees in davidsonville. we should be at 47 degrees. 45 in arbutus and easton is coming in at 48 degrees. but we also do have some patchy fog out there in spots. to take it easy as you step out and about this morning. maryland's most powerful radar is dry. and we're going to stay that way throughout the day. i can't stress enough once again we're going to be heading into a weekend that's chock full of sunshine. and this is going to be the time that you're going to want to stay outdoors. look what i have for you today. through time we will be dealing with the sunshine just prevailing. you're waking up this morning about 7:00. look at the sunshine already. 48, 57. 63. oh yes. i know you like this forecast. a check now on the traffic and see if you like lauren's forecast. like lynette? i love that forecast. bring on the warm weather. if you are getting an early head start right now, we are looking at high speeds across

the region. heading into baltimore city no problems on the jfx. it's nice and clear from the beltway all the way downtown to east fayette street. the fort mchenry tunnel tunnel in great shape and we have a lot of construction taking place out on 895. it's right along the northbound lanes at the spur. as well as that potee street but here's a live look in the area, you'll notice everything moving right along. no problems right now. just an eight minute trade from the harbor toll plaza up to 95. here's the west side everything shaping up very nicely. it will take just 12 minutes on the outer loop to travel from 795 all the bay down to 95. that inner loop nice and clear up to 83. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. a story only here on abc2 a man says he was forced out of a taco bell in howard county because he has a service dog. >> abc2 news linda so is here to tell us what happened and linda, isn't there a law protecting people and their service dogs who they need? just to do daily activities? >> there's, it's a federal law that allows to bring your service dog with you anywhere the public is allowed to go.

but one man says he was forced out of that taco bell by both the store manager and howard county police. pete kleckner who's hearing impaired had a service dog snickers for 11 years now. he stopped by on route 1 near laurel earl lid wednesday morning. he says the manager approached him after he finished his meal and told him he was calling police because the dog was not allowed in the restaurant. police say snickers was wearing the orange cape identifying her as a service dog. pete ended up calling police himself. and when two howard county police officers arrived. he was surprised by their reaction. they told him he was trespassing and should leave. a district manager for taco bell later apologized and said quote -- the service dog was allowed inside the store. however other guests asked the patron to leave several hours after he had finished the meal. pete says he was there less than an hour. a spokeswoman for howard county police confirmed the incident happened and says the officers may not have been able to see

that snickers was a service dog. pete says his dog was wearing that orange cape. back to you. the latest now on the fire in remmington in baltimore city. that's left 24 people homeless. abc2 news' sherrie johnson is on the scene with the latest on the fire. >> well yes, 24 people had to find another place to stay after a fire hit this building last night. we've been in touch with baltimore city fire department this morning. trying to get an update on information. the american red cross was on hand last night to help with medications and food and clothing and shelter for those displaced residents. now firefighters, they were on the scene at late into the night. we're talking they didn't have the fire under control until about midnight. now the two alarm fire started about 6:30 last night in the 2700 block of sisson street in the remmington area. and crews had the fire under control about midnight but they didn't leave the area until about 4:00 this morning. there were reports of huge flames and black smoke shooting into the air from the roof.

a portion of the building collapsed which caused firefighters to evacuate. and fight the fire from the outside. there are four businesses inside this building including baltimore body shop, sisson automotive. a detailing shop, clear view auto glass and 22 studio apartments on the second floor. now hazmat and the maryland department of environment were called in because there was motor oil inside the building. now everyone was able to escape this fire. one firefighter had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. and we have learned that he has been released from the hospital. now firefighters tell us a lot of the damage is in the south in the back of the building. you can see there's a lot of soot and damage here right in this area here with the baltimore body shop. but again, crews were out here until about 4:00 this morning cleaning up and trying to put out the hot spots. very difficult fire there to fight. reporting live here in the remmington area, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. people in one neighborhood in seven are now using bottled

water this morning because the well water is too toxic. maryland department of environment official says they tested the well water and found high levels of industrial chemicals known to be toxic to people. the contamination appears to be from the ground water from a nearby factory. the department is providing bottled water to the families until deeper wells can be installed. today governor o'malley will sign more than 200 bills. >> the legislature passed the bills this year also included in the list a repeal of the death penalty and a bill that allows some people to use medical marijuana. even if a bill is signed in today it's not yet clear when the state's first medical marijuana program will be up and running officially. do you know what your credit score? >> some people simply don't know but it's something you need to know if you want to new car. a house or even a cell phone. so what can do you to improve that -- you do to improve that

seattle police used blast ballots to disperse a crowd of may day demonstrators, it was done after protestors grew violent and started throwing things like rocks and metal pipes at officers, no ward yet on the in fact -- word yet on the number of arrests. may day is now a traditional day for commemorating workers afternoon the world. it's also used for deorking con overall you see protests like this. a massive brush fire in southern california continues to grow larger. the banding fire has spread across more than 2900 acres and is not even half contained. conditions are expected for today which will make battling the flames even more difficult and people in the area had to be evacuated last night. some have been able to return home since then so definitely dry conditions there. despite the rain that we had this week lynette it's been saying it's been dry here and we needed the rain. >> all right what's going on today lynette? >> today once again we are

going to be dry, not going to be dealing with any type of wet weather. just lots of sunshine. another thing we are dealing with though this morning, you can see picked up on the satellite part of the slate can radar, some clouds coming in. these are low clouds to the ground. that means we have some patchy fog out and about. so look at the visibility. very reduced. less than a mile in frederick right now. and even the eastern shore going downhill. now we were at 10, now we're at 7. so as you head out and about make sure you give yourself enough time on the roadways because it is going to be a little bit of a nuisance out there. to the bus stop this morning, make sure you have the sweater on them and light jacket. 48 degrees. and into the afternoon 69 degrees will be that high temperature with plenty of sunshine in the forecast. make sure you do get out there and enjoy it. but if you missed it you will have another crack at it by tomorrow. let's get a check of the traffic now with lauren. well, lynette if you are heading downtown the jfx is in great shape. 54 miles per hour southbound at ruxton road right now. good news for those of you

going to 95. a crash has been cleared from the southbound lanes at o'donnell street. no problems getting down to the fort mchenry tunnel. and we have all of the construction still taking place on 895 along the northbound lanes at the spur and potee street. a little change in the area. no significant delays traveling through the harbor tunnel. to 695, the inner loop nice and clear from route 295 all the way up to interstate 70 and here's a live look at that area. outer loop moving right along it will take just 12 minutes to travel from 795 all the way down to 95. and over in parkville. speeds will remain nice and calm here in harford road inner loop clear down to 59 and that outer loop you are looking at just an 11 minute ride from 95 up to 83. that's your abc2 timesaver traffic report. chris kelly one-half of the 1990s rap duo crisscross died at an atlanta hospital after he was found unresponsive at his home. an autopsy is planned for today. kelly together with chris smith

behind bars this morning charged with trying to help their friends. boston marathon bombing suspect dzhokhar tsarnaev after the deadly explosions. >> the fbi says the school friends tried to get rid of the backpack. >> devin dwyer has the latest on the friends and the college friends now charged with conspiring to obstruct justice. >> reporter: the friends of bombing suspect dzhokhar tsarnaev are charged with helping to cover up the attack. the fbi says the 19-year-old college students took and then disposed of key evidence from tsarnaev's university dorm room on the night of the man hunt. >> they were like normal

students. had lots of fun on campus, they were social and they used to go to a lot of parties. >> reporter: they allegedly recognized tsarnaev in the surveillance photos. the fbi says one of the teens then texted tsarnaev to ask if he was the bomber. lol, laughing out loud tsarnaev responded. then come to my room and take whatever you want. the fbi says the suspects took a backpack containing fireworks and a laptop computer. and then dumped the belongings in a dumpster behind their apartment. their lawyers deny the charges. >> they did not intentionally or knowingly destroy evidence. >> he is cooperating fully with the authorities. and looks forward to the truth coming out in this case. >> reporter: a third person arrested was a high school friend of tsarnaev's. seen in the youtube video. he's charges with lying to investigators. officials say an fbi search of this landfill uncovered the

discarded evidence. these empty fireworks. if they're convicted tsarnaev's friends each face a $250,000 fine and five to eight years from federal prison. abc news, washington. when you're expecting a baby it can be overwhelming to know which products are the best. but just because it's in the store doesn't mean it meets the federal safety standards and experts warn about hand me downs that you get from relatives. they're not always the safest either. they say that the general rule is that newer means safer. and there are some products that safety experts say you should avoid. they include dropside cribs, those are actually banned. crib bumpers and then of course baby bath seats and good things to keep in mind. your credit score holds more importance than you may think. >> you may want to buy a now home or car or even find a job. we're going to make sure you have all the stuff that your score is in good shape. all that information that you need. >> here's elizabeth cordon with more on what you need to know

to protect yourself. >> reporter: like it or not your credit score says a lot about you. companies use it for everything to whether or not to hire you. it's based on the concept that how you have handled credit in the past indates how reliable of a -- indicates how reliable of a borrower or employer you'll be in the future. the consumer financial protection bureau is offering tips on keeping your personal score in shape. a good first step? always pay your bills on time. don't max out the credit cards. your score will be affected if you get too close to the credit limit. experts recommend using no more than 10% to 30% of your available credit. don't apply for a new line of credit too often. try to resist the urge to open a store account. but don't stop using your credit cards altogether. they can help you build a credit history. just try not to carry appliance or miss a payment. -- a balance or miss a payment.

should be for this time of the year. more of the same in kent island. 40-degreesdegrees in northeast. look what's going on in bel air. beautiful sunrise. starting to happen. we do see clear skies out there. that is going to be translated into lots of sunshine through the rest of today. so get out there and enjoy it because high pressure is here and the dry weather will continue right through the weekend. we do have that mild pattern setting up before our next system rolls in here beginning of next week. so be prepared for more wet weather to come into the picture as well. temperatures this afternoon, will get all the way up to the mid- to upper 60s and we can see that around chestertown and joppa. coming in right around 68 degrees. more of the same as you head into frederick and even into york, pennsylvania that temperature at 69 degrees. a check of the seven day forecast looks like this. plenty of sunshine will prevail as we continue through friday. also saturday, sunday and then we see the wet weather returning as we go towards monday, tuesday and wednesday

but temperatures still remain in the 70s. let's get a check of the traffic now with lauren. great weather for the towson festival in weekend. if you are looking for something fun to do stop by and say hello at the abc2 booth. now right now we are looking at high speeds across the region if you are traveling in howard county, 65 miles per hour right along the eastbound lanes at 70 at columbia pike. you won't have any problems heading over the 695. and the westbound lanes also clear if you are heading out to frederick. here's a live look at 95 just north of 195, no delays southbound down to d.c. and those northbound lanes will be nice and clear as we take a clock at the drive times. just a 7 minute ride from route 100 all the way to 695. and the beltway nice and clear right now on the east side it will take just 11 minutes to travel the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. and the outer loop will remain nice and clear maybe making the push from 83 to 795. that stretch will take you just eight minutes. all right, parents how would this make you feel?
