of the country. middle part of the country where flood waters and rescues like the one in tennessee that we have been talking about well a mother and baby they were trapped in the home by the rising waters and within minutes, crews arrived and carried them both to safety. unfortunately, the rain is not over in that area. the national weather service right now is forecasting more wet weather through the weekend. these people hopped on a roof of a car when the water started to rise and they say that's when they had to do. this is davidson county tennessee. and you can see the roads look more like rivers. many people abandoned their cars because of the fast moving flood waters and in missouri dozens of people had tee vac wait a trailer park. -- had to evacuate a trailer park. rescue crews moved their belongings and pets to higher grounds. flood waters caused one death and damaged hundreds of homes. good morning america will have more on this and the rains and the flooding at 7:00 this morning. another story for you that we are following this morning.

one we told you about. the wild fire-- the massive fire in the nairobi airport in ken yeah. we are learning about a local group of -- kenya. we are learning about a local group of volunteers from harford county that are stuck there. they are from habitat for humanity susquehanna. they went overseas to heap international chapter build a home. they were supposed to fly home wednesday night but now they have no idea when they are going to be able to get on the flight out because of the damage to the airport and it's caused so many cancellations in the area. >> the work that has to be done to get it back to operational is going to be huge. it's going to be big. >> the volunteers are well cared for and they are safe and patient. so we hope to bring you the story of when they ng a flight they were hoping last night that didn't happen. so we will continue to follow their story and let you know about their return so follow us

this morning to pay respects to a man whose impact on sports in the city is legendary. artie donovan will be remembered as a great football player and a good guy. he was very quick fohis size and a man who defined his position. in playing football and in his 12 seasons he was considered one of the most dominating defensive players that played the game. but artie defined what player should be off the field when he retired he stayed in baltimore raising a family and owns several businesses and to say he was a great story teller is an understatement. cotell a story that would have you in stitches and have the room laughing. he was that good. now artie's funeral will be this morning at 11 here and cathedral of mary our queen. our live coverage will begin at 10 with jammy costello who-- jamie costello who will talk to artie folks to share a few stories and million ris of a great, great man -- memories of a great, great man and that will be streamed at abc2news.com once our coverage
