and stole spools of wire worth tens of thousands of dollars. it was the fourth time they have hit that facility. they have hit 15 others all over the state. that's not only cost the company big money but could jeopardy service to the customers. >> it's all over this area. the challenge that we have is verizon like any other utility, it's important to service our customers. what when we have items like this stolen, we have to replace it in a timely manner so the customer will not lose service. >> reporter: verizon is circulating surveillance pictures of some suspects that stole from the facility in the town of northeast. if you have any information that could lead police to any of the thieve, call police or the verizon security control center: as we said, that information could land you $10,000 in reward money. jeff hagar, abc2 news. we bring you a correction to a story we brought you last

night. johns hopkins and campus police are investigating several recent robberies including one that happened yesterday morning involving a female employee of the university. the robbery happened near campus not right on it. the woman, officials say was walking on the drive when she was grabbed from behind. her purse was taken and the suspects took off in a car that was stolen. officials from the university also say that last sunday a graduate student was attacked and robbed. the university has stepped up patrols around the area. a beautiful, august day. since it is friday, all anybody cares about is will it last through the weekend? how long will it last? >> a changing weekend of weather. a great friday evening and note a bad start on saturday. clouds streaming into southern maryland but they are not producing any rain. it looks like a dry evening

with a show of force. they are in the alexandria and squares ceiling off pedestrians and vehicles. security forces are using am e -- ammunition. the egypt is a key u.s. ally in the region and the u.s. is invested there. more than $1 billion in military aid is set aside for egypt. yesterday president obama said that the violence must stop. >> the egyptian people deserve better than what we have seen over the last several days. >> reporter: a white house advisor told abc news that the u.s. wants to remain engaged but the further egypt heads down a violent path, it's hard for the obama administration to maintain commitment. >> we have been blamed by supporters of mercy and blamed

by the other side as if we are supporters. >> president obama said that the blame game needs to stop. it won't help egypt get on the path to stability. karen travers, abc news washington. the nsa secret surveillance program did break privacy rules thousands of times since 2008. the new revelation is the from the information from leaker edward snowden. they found that the agency had collected unauthorized data more than 2700 times and most of the time the surveillance involved americaners or foreign intelligence targets inside the u.s. for its part the nsa say a number of factors can cause the statistics to go down from one quarter to the next. one of the worse kept secrets in the united states, area 51, for ufo conspiracy here

she almost made it to the relative comfort of a hospital room. instead this woman gave birth right at the front desk. she felt the baby coming and all she could do was drop to the floor. thankfully, doctors and nurses were close by. >> and as natural reaction. she said to me, well, i'm having a baby. >> and did it right on the floor. mother and baby girl are doing just fine after the less than traditional birth. a the woman got a call saying that there was a giant bear sleeping on the porch. the babysitter was scared and the sons officerfied. >> you don't really think when you see something like that. we were freak out. >> i have seen a bear at the zoo but not even that close. this was the closest i have ever come to a bear, let alone a 7 to 8 foot bear on my back porch.

>> wow. after about an hour the bear was feeling wake enough to move on. from this time porch to the great outdoor. bear attacks out west in the span of a half hour, four people hurt in two separate grizzly attacks. the first happened in yellow stone when a group of hikers was attacked. they had bear spray with them. she was protecting her cubs. the second attack happened less than an hour away in island park, idaho. in that case the victims were two researchers. >> we inn both cases the bears were startled or cornered and reacted by charging and then taking a bite at an individual and then moving on fast. >> in that attack a man was bitten on his hand but he managed to use his bear spray stopping the attack. . we have all learned something, never go in the woods

outstanding start to the day. we cloud things up later in the day but i think we stay dry. maybe a sfra shower by 8:00 or 10:00 tomorrow. the ocean water temperature is in the low-tmid 70s. statewide, 68 in the mountains. 72 at the beaches. wherever your travels take you across maryland, you will see similar conditions to what we have in the baltimore area. coming a little closer, we do have a light easterly breeze and an onshore flow that will hold temperatures down. we have a bay breeze on the western shore and a sea breeze down towards the delaware beaches and also down to ocean city. dew point numbers increase tomorrow. basically, it will feel more humid. the increase in humidity will fuel the possibility of a shower by late tomorrow night. the rain chance is coming in out of the south. the weather maker from the south, basically, is pushing in slowly but steadily. i think as we go, it's around 6:00 on saturday. we're going to be knocking on the door for virginia beach and

then lifting further north. rain chances begin to increase into the day on sunday. a lot of it with this computer run stays on shore. perhaps, we'll feature just a couple of passing showers. have showers in the sunday forecast out of caution. look at the clouds streaming in out of the south right now. dry fair weather clouds for the moment but you see some rain in southern and north carolina. the active weather is held at bay, not just for the upper midwest but still under the influence ofñ+ú% it here in the mid-atlantic. you can see it bottled up south of maryland and virginia. we see the pattern shifts and breaks down going into the day on sunday. temperaturewise, floating around 80 both days this weekend. i thin because of the increased cloud cover.

the system is looking more and more active and getting a little more definition here. about a 50 to 60% chance that will become a named storm out of caribbean and into the gulf of mexico. all eyes on texas with that storm. tonight, 60 not as cool. we'll call it a mix of sun and clouds. the clouds will thicken late day tomorrow. that could mean a shower into tomorrow night. the next couple of days, temperatures drop a little bit sunday. the best chance for rain is sunday. then into the day on monday, we have a chance for showers in, i think they will clear out quickly. right now it looks like summer will make another run at up to 90 degrees by the middle part, late part of next week. we are still in august. although it feels like we're already in september. august has the ability to crank up the temperatures. >> tomorrow is the better day for the cook out then sunday. >> i think so. thank you. he is supposed to be impartial, but a man sworn to

uphold the law of the land a judge is charged with using a position to frame the husband of a woman he loved. we have the bizarre story. >> reporter: he was expected to uphold the law instead west virginia circuit judge michael thornsberry is accused of rigging the wheels of justice to put his former lovers husband behind bars. >> i had no idea nor would i have ever dreamed that a judge would have been behind criminal charges being charged against someone innocent of crime. >> he began a relationship with his secretary five years ago, but after she ended it, prosecutors say that he tried to get someone to plant illegal drugs under her husband's pickup truck and asked for police to stop and search the vehicles. the plot fell apart when the person who agreed to plant the drugs backed out. the judge maintains his innocence.

>> the truth will be told. >> he's charged with also hatching another plan with having a state trooper for stealing scrap metal. the husband was arrested on grand larceny charges according to the indictment. the judge went even further, manipulating a state grand jury to push forward criminal charges against his rival. the foreman he put in charge of the grand j secret business partner county official and friend, robert woodruff's lawyer says that he plans to file appeal. >> we will pursue civil action in the future. >> i'm not guilty. >> the judge is currently out on bond after pleading not guilty to two counts of conspiracy.

students after a powerful ef 5 tornado tore through the town in may killing four people including seven people from the elementary school. two schools were flattened by the twister. >> are you excited? >> yeah. >> reporter: now the students are using temporary buildings while their schools are being rebuilt. >> i know what you guys went through. i went through the same thing but we made it through it. >> reporter: and for families, this moment is bittersweet. the children are excited to see their friends. but parents say there are also plenty of nerves. >> my son is nervous actually. he's traumatized from all of this. >> my daughter wants to know what will happen here if there is a tornado. >> reporter: especially after more thunderstorms rolled through overnight. >> i can't sleep when it's storming. i put my head under the covers and close my eyes. >> reporter: that's where the

teachers have come in. they have gone through special drill, counseling and have built a support system for the students. >> i get to love on them and comfort them and heal together with them during this time. >> reporter: and those feelings are shared by many. more than 1,000 homes were lost in the tornado but now instead of demolition, families say it's nice to see moore, oklahoma, rebuilding. and in baltimore county, we're approaching the first anniversary of another life changing event. a student opened fire in the cafeteria seriously injuring a classmate. since the shooting, officials from the baltimore county schools say they have taken steps to improve school security across the system. we toured the schools where doors and digital tvs to show administrators what is happening inside and outside of the building. the school system is making changes to keep kids safer b
