flights didn't leave the tarmac on time caused by a system wide computer outage. the issue was fixed and schedules slowly returned to normal. people who hopped on united airlines' website got a giant surprise yesterday. tickets were sold for between zero and ten dollars. word spread quickly and dozens of people bought up the tickets. united eventually caught the problem and shut down the system. earlier the airline would honor its tickets. a south breeze kicking in at 5-10, a little warmer on your sunday than saturday. both days featuring brilliant sunshine. stay well hydrated.

that is what's left of gabrielle. once upon a time a tropical storm. the numbers are dropping over the great lakes into the low 50s. you get the idea. fall cool air coming in tomorrow. struggling to get up above 70 degrees. the next couple days, temperatures running into the upper 70s. by the second half of the weekend is like that, but most of the day in the 60s. tomorrow night many spots down in the 40s.

the fall feel starting to come in. >> sounds excellent. we've heard by now about beauty sleep, but a new study may lend scientific weight to this notion. here's doctor timothy johnson. >>reporter: many of us go to great lengths to look a bit younger. now a new study that the real fountain of youth may be as close as our pillows. researchers at university of michigan took 20 people with sleep apnea, a breathing problem known to disrupt sleep. they took pictures of these people before several months of apnea treatment, and once they helped the subjects sleep better, they showed these before and after photos to a panel of judges. overwhelmingly the judges said those who were sleeping better looked better. even a computer analysis revealed these subjects had

less puffiness and redness in their faces and looked more youthful. the researchers say they hope the study gives extra incentive for sleep apnea patients to stick with treatment. turns out that beauty sleep may be more than just a saying. it's tough to think about, but while trying to make healthy food choices you may be wrecking your diet. for example, picking a smoothy over a shake sounds like a good idea, but you could be taking in 1200 calories. many fat free foods are packed with sugar and few nutrients. >> many of these fiber bars are candy bars in disguise. the first ingredient could be sugar. speaking of foods that will

safe, pays off. >> off. we hear about shootings all the time, but not like this. why a medevac helicopter took a hit. we begin tonight at six following two breaking news stories. the first is about the grand prix of baltimore. organizers tell us the race will not happen next year or the year after. people from the race blame scheduling contests. it's usually held over labor day weekend, but the football season is scheduled for a game over the long holiday weekend. organizers say attendance was up this year, but have not released final numbers. another breaking story is

about the fight against gang violence in baltimore city. police have broken up one of the drug rings that fueled that kind of activity. cheryl connor is live in the police headquarters where they made the announcement. >>reporter: when we talk about taking drugs off the street, you can also link that to the violence. that's why this announcement of nine arrests comes at a great time for west baltimore. we heard from police commissioner anthony bass and state attorney bernstein, both saying that nine people have been indicted on conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine. the neighborhood is their focus, specifically ruxton avenue. the drug trade has been linked to other violent crimes. it took over a month to track down this ring of dealers.
