numerous charges. neighbors expect him to be released from the hospital today. he was shot during a home invasion. new details about a maryland dentist in big trouble with the feds. dr. vaqar choudry is the man who was indicted after getting caught trying to trade pills for a chance to have sex with a child. one of the former sex partners speaking out. joce sterman said she saw red flags. >> a woman we heard from said she had a sexual relationship with choudry but she cut it off when he made a disturbing request. the woman says choudry, who was indicted yesterday by the feds began asking her in she knew of any young girls he could potentially hook up w he was busted by the dea agents last week after trying to make that request a reality. they used a confident hall source to set up a meeting with him and a fix shonal child. he was arrested for enticing a

sputtering engine and worn tires. >> my husband noticed that the driver side rear tire was completely bald. he said, wow, we got a long way to g that could be an issue. >> reporter: joanie said they were several hundred miles from the rental counter when their chrysler 200 started exhibiting middle aged car problems. >> we were between the wyoming utah border, middle of mountains, no cell phone coverage and the engine was leaking cool lappet -- coolant. >> reporter: they made it to another office and they traded it for another car. low mileage rental cars are getting harder to find. she said the next time they will be a lot more careful. >> we'll check the mileage.

adults and the 3-year-old. >> is this the event that will change violence in chicago? to the brink to fight over health care threatening to grind the federal government to a halt. and no pet left behind, saving hundreds of animals, dogs, cats from the colorado flood, even a horse, proving this will save a lot of people, too. good evening on friday night. our week together ends as it began. a mass shooting, this time families in a public park in chicago. they were shattered by an assault weapon, and a 3-year-old boy, one of the injured. tonight, in part for him, so many good people in chicago are seeking answers. the head of police issuing a plea from the heart. abc's alex perez takes us in the streets of his own hometown. >> reporter: within seconds, a

warm evening at the shix park last night turned into a nightmare. >> we have a total of ten adults and the one 3-year-old. >> reporter: that number would grow to 13 people shot and wounded, the 3-year-old little deontae howard shot in the face but expected to survive after a group targeting rival gang members opened fire on this crowded basketball court, with a military style assault rifle. the pain is becoming all too familiar for little deontae's grandmother who just buried her son, killed by gun violence on monday. >> it got to stop. y'all hurt innocent people. kids. >> thank you. >> it's the same frustration expressed by the community last october when diane hosted a special summit on chicago violence. >> go behind a couple bushes, i'll bet there are guns there. >> reporter: in chicago alone more than 1300 shooting incidents, and nearly 300 homicides, and that's actually down 20% from last year. the city's top cop today angry

and calling on something to change. >> illegal guns drive violence. and military type weapons, like the one we believe to have been used in this shooting, belong on a battlefield. >> reporter: across the country nearly 9,000 people were killed with a gun last year, those living on some of chicago's toughest streets say getting an illegal gun is as easy as buying candy. >> you go get a gun, he could get a gun. receive father michael says it should be treated like the shooting at the navy yard on monday or any tragedy. >> america has to be as angry about 13 people shot on a basketball court last night as they were 12 people shot and some killed in a navy yard in d.c. >> reporter: and diane, tonight, unlike many of these cases, police say witnesses are cooperating, and investigators are questioning several people in connection with the shooting here on the court.
