this week. i think you'll like the first week of fall, that is coming up. >> >> judging by your reaction on twitter, you didn't like how things were going for the baltimore ravens. then this happened. he would take it all the way back down the sideline for the touchdown. ravens. 10-6. houston got the ball back, but they had to punt. look at that. great move there takes it back up the sideline. look who is on the sideline cheering him on. that is ray lewis right there. just like that the ravens were up 17-6 at halftime and then it was time to celebrate ray lewis and the ravens unveiling number 52 spot in the ring of honor at halftime. then the second half the ravens pulled away and got a touchdown. ray rice didn't play today.

they beat the texans 30-9. four days ago the orioles appeared ready to move into a play roff position. since then the offense disappeared and so are those playoff chances. here is the man on first. ground ball to middle. right at the shortstop. goes to first. easy double play. later, things work out for the rays. first and third. single. didn't hit that hard, but got one home. that is how things have been going for the birds. they lose their fourth straight game 3-1. they are 4 1/2 games out of the wildcard spot with up left to play on the season. >> lost her battle with colon cancer, but her spirit is helping to save other lives. great turnout today. they were trying to raise money in her name.

look who is out today. meteorologist mike masco just one of the runners who came out to support suzy. this was the ninth annual 5k run for suzy's cause. it was formed after suzy cohen found out she had colon cancer. she lost her battle with the disease, but her family is helping to stay connected with her and raise money. >> as i see the sun come out, i know that is a sign from suzy. it happens every year. we get rain the day before, afternoon afterwards but the sun is always out. >> beautiful day for them today. while mike and the other runners were pounding the

pavement, why at swan for the swim across america. tough, tough work for them. tough course. you could choose a one mile or three mile swim. it can take weeks of preparation to swell on the river. >> i took a 16-week swim class and my trainer was my trainer and it was really, really hard. >> now, the money they raised still being counted but the money goes to fund research at the cancer center. >> how did you do today? i felt strong out there. the muscle memory from the first year. it was the fourth swim today, but four years ago was swim one. >> it wasn't too windy or too choppy. it wasn't like swimming in a pool. >> it is different because you can't see the black line. you have to look up where is the boo with? you follow the pack. there is a lot of splashing but

you keep going. the rain cleared out just in time. huge money raised, over 400 those dollars for the event. the final total is still coming for cancer research here in baltimore. >> weather-wise we had an awesome day for it. >> fall 2013 starting on an outstanding weather note. normal is 76 on th first day of autumn. it was 73. sunset getting earlier each day. we haven't done the fall back routine but you know that. crystal clear. no shocker there. some cloud cover at bellaire as we look at live condition. you see a little time lapse photography. then sun back and forth with the clouds. this is cool air pouring in out of the great lakes region and stom instability clouds, but dry conditions onset up through your sunday. great weather for ray vince tailgate and the game of

course. >> 69 right now and winds north after 7. that north breeze continues to go. the current air temp on our news app. tomorrow, even more fallish kind of day. temperatures struggle to get out of the upper 60s. sunshine will dominate monday and into many days this coming week. temperatures now stay wide running in the upper 60s and you can see that still 70 ocean city but the numbers will keep falling on that north breeze which is 7 to 15 sustained and the gusts around 20 or so in spots. still a pretty breezy night out there. gorgeous set up. a chris up cool start to the morning. you'll need the light fleece jacket in the morning, but temperatures recover. in the will feel warmer than upper 60s and then it will warm up more as the air mass starts to warm up again in the next

few days. clear skies dominate the region right now. there is that big cold frontal boundary that blasted through the heavy rain in maryland last night. now that is a done deal and we sit clear behind the cool front. the front is on the move. high pressure continues to dominate the next several days. we call that the weather good guy because that is what is leads to, lots of good weather. it will lead to cool nights. 40s from maryland to new england. slow recovery tomorrow temperature-wise but, again as we look forward we see a warm surge into the middle of the week. tropics still showing some signs of life. a little area of interest off houston but it did show some diminishing and a lack of concentration if you will so now it won't become anything

maryland's spotlight is all about maryland living. >> welcome to maryland's spotlight. i'm kim knight. get out your running shoes, it is the 21st annual "komen race for the cure." wear your pink. britney you're the communication and marketing manager. >> thanks for having us here. >> terrific. 21st annual. i love it. now, let's talk about the race for the cure. >> it is an event where people come together to honor and memorialize those who have battled breast cancer. it is a gathering of survivors, co survivor, people who want to show their support and people can run, walk, we have a one mile family fun walk. it is for the entire family and it is a wonderful day to come out and celebrate and really see in person the strides we have made in breast cancer over

the past years. >> there is a lot of entertain the and things going on so it makes it fun and it is a 5k but you can walk it, run it. the one mile for the families. now, let's talk about the money. where does the money raised go? >> we have 75% stays within maryland in our service area which is the the entire state including montgomery county. those are covered by the capital area. they go to programs for screening, treatment and support services so anything from clinical diagnosis, mammograms, up to providing financial support for women currently in treatment or getting them to and from appointments. >> the race this year in hunt valley, what can people expect when they go? >> it is just a great day. it is pretty filled up by 6:30 a.m..

we have a sponsor village where all the sponsors are located and they are handing out goodies there. most are pink usually. we have things prior to the race. the run will kick off art 8:00 a.m. and the walk is at 8:30. after that we have an awarding ceremony for the top runners and some top fund-raisers and that starts at 10:00. we're usually done by 10:30. >> we have teams too. we have some really cool programs called the challenge and it allows teams to compete for bragging rights. we have five this year. we added a new one. the categories are for businesses of 500 or more people, businesses with 499 or less, school, family socials and families in the social group and for jim's and fitness centers. >> if a company wants to sign up is there is a website?
