washington navy yard. the fbi said there's no evidence that alexis was targeting particular people. the agency believes alexis was delusional. police are trying to bring the community together after shots were fired in an odenton home. police are trying to calm fears, and take information on the shooting. no one was directly hit by gunfire but an infant girl was cut by falling glass. police do not believe the shooting was random. 35 students were taken to the hospital after a car ran into their school bus. the students attended north point high. the crash happened not far away from the school. authorities sid a cadillac escalade hit the bus.

the partisan battle revolves around funding the affordable care act. karen travers has the details on where congress stands. >> reporter: yesterday at 2:41 p.m. republican senator ted cruz started talking on the senate floor. >> most americans could not give a flying flip about a bunch of politicians in washington. >> reporter: he kept talking. >> red neck rule number one. most things can be fixed with duct tape. >> reporter: he even read a bedtime story to his daughters watching in texas. >> i do not like green eggs and ham. >> he's pushing for defunding of the president's healthcare law. the government will shut down at 12:01 on october 1st if congress does not pass the funding. they passed a bill that with

more than 60 people killed and dozens missing following that deadly attack at a shopping mall in kenya after gunfire and explosions were heard, the scene was finally secured. we have more on the search for more victims. >> reporter: expensians now observing the first of three national days of mourning,

remembering the dozens of innocent lives taken by terrorists at the mall in nairobi. some of the bodies are still. there forensic teams scouring the area for the buried. many being claimed by loved ones. some of the more than 1,000 people who were in the mall when the attack began saturday are sharing their survival stories,s this man coming face to face with one of the gunman. >> i said, yes, she is. he said ask her to cover up, and then he pointed the gun. >> reporter: 19-year-old darkis hid under suitcases for hours, her brother said the terrorists were killing nonmuslims. now investigators, including an american forensics team, are

trying to figure out how the terrorists pulled off the attack. a kenyan newspaper reports the attackers spent months studying the layouts, even operating a store where they may have stashed their weapons. while the group al shabaab claimed responsibility, investigators are trying to determine who the terrorists were. they say it's unclear if any women or americans were involved. reporting for abc news, new york. american security and law enforcement are pressing for access to the bodies of terrorists to determine if any americans were involved. a worker was rescued from a frederick construction site after getting stuck in the mud. the man was in a ditch when the water pipe burst. it filled the ditch, leaving the 49-year-old worker trapped. crews pulled him out of the waist deep water.

an amateur angler reeled in this thing. look at the teeth. that is a pacu, the cousin of a piranha. tommy boylen said he was shocked to pull it out of a small pond in jersey. boylen suspects that the fish ended up in the pond after someone emptied their fish tank there. all right. it took more than two hours of digging to get a little army back in the arms ofs it owner. this dachshund got trapped into a hole. fire crews came out to carefully dig around precious so the dirt wouldn't cave in on her. they got the first glimpse of her and let the owner pull her out. >> she's part of the family. we're very happy she's okay. >> it took 15 firefighters to

the runner's forecast tomorrow gorgeous, 54. not as chilly and upper 70s by 4:00. that's about where we are right now mid-70s. a little more sunshine. young we'll have as much cloud cover from that system to the sut and a light variable breeze will continue to be just that, light and variable. a couple of additional cloud cover coming in off that area of disturbed weather to the south into the day on friday. looks like things could be brighter but still rain free. the overall setup is fairly quiet f you have travel plans up and down the east coast, bwi, looking great, just a couple of showers to contend with toward the charlotte area. high pressure still generally controlling the northeast weather. that does reach just barely into the mid-atlantic. this storm system that's producing rain from the carolinas south, sort of a southern slider it.

our skin, which is the largest organ in the body. >> obviously, it's important to get treatment. tell us about the treatment you offer. >> so, you know, at the wound center we have a multidisciplinary panel. we try to assess the wound so we can understand the different factors. we offer simple things such as cleaning off the wound which is debridement or directly delivering oxygen to the wound. we can do different types of specialized dressings which can help accelerate the wound healing. >> talk it us about some of the physicians involved in some of the treatment. >> sure. when they asked me to be the medical director, the first thing you want to know is who is your team. when the hospitals merged and
