the intruder who broke into a home and touched a teenage girl while she was sleeping. tonight the suspect is in custody. he is 19 years old and from ellicott city. alan jarillo-jimenez also faces assault charges. he entered the girl's apartment by cutting through lap screen on the win -- a screen on the window. the suspect is being held on $175,000 bond. gun receipts advocates trying to -- rights advocates trying to stop the new dunn law. >> it limits magazine capacity and requires fingerprinting to get a license. a hearing was held today after the state issued their response. a federal judge denied the temporary restraining order.

a driver assaulted by a gang of bikers while his wife and kids look on. the gang surrounded the families suv and followed them around the city. police say it started after a biker stopped suddenly in front of the suv causing a fender bender. >> he took his helmet and his his car and apparently his tires got slashed. >> the driver was dragged out of the house, treated at the hospital and release snod a man point as gun at another -- released. a man points a gun at

little bit. it will moisten up the next couple of days. not just warmer but a little more humid. it will be unseasonal the next couple of days. the future trend setup, just a few clouds for the remainder of the evening. right now a handful of clouds that will fizzle out. big picture wise, not a lot of active weather here. very weak cool front out to the west that's basically a nonfactor, will not be headed our way with speed and a high pressure cell sitting over the southeast, keeping the sunshine. the front not moving anywhere. the future interested map reflecting that as we see a few clouds. you can see staying generally well out to the west. the thing basically stalled out and a nonfactor for east coast weather, but things could change, not by the weekend but coming out of the weekend because of this.

significant tropical storm here developing south of cuba, not a named storm yet, not a low but this has some strong organization going on. some of the computer models pull it up over cuba and bring it into the florida panhandle. we end up getting a lot of rain, rain we could use monday and tuesday, maybe as early as sunday night but monday and tuesday. this tropical moisture could be heading to m tonight down to 58. your two-degree guarantee in the mid-80s. tomorrow night around 60 degrees. check out the next couple of days. you'll notice the numbers in the low 80s thursday and friday. plenty of sunshine, our indian summer continuing. big rain maker potential sunday late but mainly into monday and tuesday. again, that's front coming in

been important. >> are we seeing more people developing the disease or just more people being proactive about getting screened? >> i think we definitely have a larger number of women being diagnosed with breast cancer, which a good thing if we're diagnosing women with invasive breast cancer. but those watching the news in the last year or so, a little controversy in dcis. we don't know if they will become a problem or become invasive in the future. at this point, the recommendation is that you should be screened. make sure you discuss it with

your physician. if we diagnose cancer at an early stage, we increase the chances of cure. >> and that's different if you have a family history. >> we see a small number of women, perhaps one in 20. and about one in 10 or so will have a strong hex. anyone who has a close relative diagnosed with breast cancer in both sides or at a young age, young are than 50 or who has a relative with ovarian cancer, they need to think about the possibility that there's a trait, something that has bee passed down from mom or dad that could potentially increase their risk of developing cancer. >> do you think we'll ever find a exiewr? >> i think what we're finding is the ability to, one, understand that what we know from

epidemiology, whether the factors -- we know obesity is associated with it. physical activity appears to reduce the risk as well. all of those things to improve your health, in general, appear, also to be associated with a loris being of developing the disease and for those who, unfortunately, go on to develop breast cancer who are becoming better in finding the precise type of breast cancer they have, so that we can recommend the right treatment for the right patient. so make sure that if you were to develop breast cancer, anyone who develops breast cancer ask questions. ask questions of their doctors. ask for the pathology report and education is so important so they clan work with their physicians to make the right

more than a third of federal workers off the job as a result of the government shutdown. home buyers waiting for government-backed loans will have to wait. the conventional wisdom is the shutdown won't last too long. gun rights advocates were in court to get a temporary injunction. the judge threw out the

to know. we have an update on that plane crash in california. the body was so badly burned, it's too early to tell if it was a male or fae mail. the pilot reported no mechanical problems. a team from the national transportation safety board is looking into the crash. two cranes had to be ordered to lift the plane off. ravens linebacker terrell suggs is used to taking hits on the field but may be taking hits for comments. suggs thinks roger goodell had something to do with the lights going out at the super bowl. >> roger goodell always has
