prolonged shutdown. some house republicans said it's time to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government without strings attached. >> so if the shutdown continues, some worry it will get tied to a feet to raise the debt ceiling. the country is expected to hit the debt ceiling on october 17th. that means the treasury runs out of money to pay hour-- our bills. 56% feel it would be a bad thing and 38% said it would be a good thing. most said it would be better to raise the debt ceiling than delay obamacare. head start gets federal funding for preschool education for children from low income families. about 19,000 kids will lose it.

the organization is also protesting the $405 million cut to head start. also a potentially life saving treatment is on hold. some clinical trials run through the national institutes of health are postponed indefinitely. about 200 people register for the clinical trials every week. about 30 or children. participants will continue to be treated but newly accepted patients are left and waiting. about 75% of the employees at the national institutes of health are on furlough. well, the cleanup in colorado after last month's devastating floods being impacted. the governor of colorado announced the state will step in to pay the national guard members helping with flood relief. fema was supposed to cover most of the cost. >> weather wise, another one of those sunny days that's way

a terrifying school bus crash caught on camera. it was a violent chain reaction crash involving a truck and two school bulls. luckily, no kids were on board either bus. washington state troopers ticketed the female driver for negligent driving. what started as a routine dui arrest this year ended with a strip search and now a lawsuit. surveillance video show officers stripping off the clothes of the

lady. she said her civil rights were violated. her attorney said only officers of the same gender can strip search. >> humiliating and groping a female inmate. this makes you wonder were these guys ever learned. >> illinois law said officers can only conduct a strip search if there's reason to believe the suspects a weapons or drugs. ex-- an excavation uncovers skulls. it is believed three go back to the third or fourth century. fragments of roman pottery were found. the museum will analyze the finds. an emergency landing is not something you want to experience. one pilot was forced to make an

our hot topic appears to be a growing trend. i want to show you-year-old gore din bennett who was suspended from school for using his finger as a fake gun. the mother said she never made a threat and she is upset. >> i'm prepared to go to court if i have to this is wrong. it's wrong for my son and any other child if they're faced with the same thing. >> the school said the boy's action violated the school's code of con mom wants the school to remove it from the record. is it too much or should schools be punishing students for these actions. join in the action. we want to hear what you think about this. we're asking our children to get along and play nice.
