a developing story out of northwestern oklahoma. a natural gas pipeline explosion. it happened in the town of rosston. the flames could be seen 50 miles away into kansas. no one has been hurt. officials tell us the fire is contained. and they're going to let it burn itself out. the cause of the explosion, under investigation. a police detective will be in court today to face charges stemming from his involvement in that road rage incident. arrested last night. his attorney said that he only witnessed other bikers attacking that suv. but evidence shows him punching and kicking that side of that vehicle before leaving the scene. three soldiers in washington state are facing charges in the stabbing death of a fellow soldier. police say kevin gieke was stabbed through the heart after a confrontation at a military base outside tacoma. one soldier is charged with first-degree murder. the other two tried to dispose

of the weapon. and starting today, some classes at malibu high school will be relocated, while investigators look at health hazards. three teachers working in the same area of the campus were diagnosed with thyroid cancer. others have experienced migraines and skin diseases. testing is under way for possible contamination for mold and termite treatment. and kerry kennedy has made an appearance in new york as a judge set her drugged driving trial in january. kennedy was arrested last year after swerving her car into a tractor-trailer. blood tests found ambien, which she took accidentally instead of her thyroid medication. parents of schoolchildren in boston hope there won't be a repeat of the surprise school bus driver strike. an estimated 6,200 kids stayed home. the bus drivers are rebelling

standoff in capitol hill, as the u.s. inches towards next week's debt default deadline continues to spill red ink all over wall street. the dow jones industrial average have fallen 11 of the past 14 trading days. considering the all-time high last month. that's a drop of 6%, for a total of 900 points. the dow opens today's trading at 14,776. and history is being made at the white house when president obama nominates janet yellen as the next fed chair. she would become the first woman to hold the high-level job. she has been vice chair of the federal reserve since 2010. one of the fed's big jobs is to distribute the brand-new $100 bills. they cost 12.5 cents to produce.

it's time for a look at the morning road conditions now. the first rain of the season is expected to slow things down through much of southern california. also, plan on some rain downpours in north carolina, virginia, delaware and parts of new jersey. >> if you're flying, airport delays possible in charlotte, north carolina, phoenix, and arizona. a 9-year-old boy snuck on to a plane in minneapolis and flew to las vegas last week. >> it's reportedly being flown home in protective custody. his parents are struggling with their troubled youngster. the boy's father says at one point his behavior became so bad he had to seek help from police. >> one particular officer said i need to discipline my son more harder. and i asked him, if i discipline

my son harder, y'all will come and try to lock me up. >> the boy allegedly took a delivery truck for a joyride a few days before hopping on the plane to vegas. that ended when he crashed into a police cruiser, causing thousands of dollars of damage that the vehicle. a missing san francisco hospital patient may have come to a tragic end. the body of a woman has been found in a hospital stairwell used as a fire escape. 57-year-old lynn spaulding disappeared from her room two weeks ago. a city-wide search turned up empty. per family and friends were devastated to learn she may have not even left the hospital. now, blamed for hepatitis and liver failure outbreak in hawaii. health officials say 24 of the 29 patients reported using oxy elite pro. 1 person has died and 11 people hospitalized.

showers. especially as we head toward the evening. 62 will be the temperature by lunchtime. let's get a check of the traffic with mike. good morning, everybody. here we go. 4:30. middle of of the week. get excited. a look at the beltway right now. west side beltway looks good 795 to 70. and notice the speeds are clocking at 55 miles an hour, east side of the beltway looks good, double nickles across the board. to the north, topside of the beltway, outer and inner loop looking very good. and jfx looks good and we will talk about the maryland pennsylvania line right here. and looking pretty good. and yes, you know it is going to be problems. and 95 at 395, also looking good thus far this morning. we will show you one construction-related delay, 95 southbound past exit 61. another check of traffic and weather together coming up in a little bit. following breaking news right now out of oklahoma where a pipeline explosion and a large fire is the big story there. take a look at this. a pipeline that carries natural

gas. crews say the fire is contained right now. in the northwest part of oklahoma. and no injuries have been reported. but people living within two miles of the blast were ordered to evacuate. stay us with on twitter for the latest. and a water main break filled the afternoon sky with a geyser out there. this photograph was one sent in to us at abc 2. the roads were flooded and for a while as baltimore city came in to shut the main down and while residents didn't lose water and what is in the pipes now some say is a yucky mess. we have more from the scene. >> reporter: the line is repaired. but there are still some problems out here in parts here. if you take a look hine me here, you can see there -- behind me here, you can see there is a big hole out there and the road is closed. the water is not exactly what you would call clear. the 24-inch main burst into spectacular fashion with water shooting into the sky on putty hill avenue. baltimore city was out early, and quickly, to repair the line, and they worked for most
