we've got a criminal evaluation underway after a group of boy scout leaders destroyed a rock formation in utah. now the men are calling it a dangerous threat for an accident waiting to happen. [ laughter ] >> reporter: the celebration for these boy scout leaders is over. it turns out the rock formation, known as a goblin that they purposely knocked over in a utah state park is tens of millions years old. a criminal investigation is underway but the scout leaders are defending their action. >> way to go. just a little bit. >> reporter: in the video they posted on facebook, the men

claimed they were protecting people from the fragile rock. >> some little kid was about to walk down here and die and glen saved his life by getting the boulder out of the way. >> he destroyed something that could never exist again. >> reporter: goblin valley is a historic site known for these rocks shaped like mushrooms and the men could face federal charges. the boy scouts of america said it teaches its members to leave no trace. we are reviewing this matter and will take appropriate action, but glen taylor, the troop leader, who pushed the rock over said he has received nonstop messages of support. >> would i do it again, with a ranger standing by, yes. >> reporter: reporting for abc2

the resort's most well known hotels. a federal air marshal from maryland gets caught in the act taking pictures up the skirts of female passengers. >> it happened as people were boarding a plane in nashville. that marshal from crofton faces criminal charges. >> reporter: 28-year-old adam bartsch apparently didn't welcome the site -- sight of cameras, no more than a passenger liked it when he spotted bartsch taking pictures up women's skirts eye said you ought to be ashamed of yourself. >> reporter: he seized the phone from bartsch. back here in maryland outside his crofton home, a neighbor, who did not wish to be identified, spoke of the suspect and his young family.
