5:16 am
question is after it leaves the bahamas, where is it going? kevin: it looks like most of the maps here have been trending farther out to sea with each run which is good news. it has not been moving much. a front making its way to the east coast has been slowly attempting to slide the thing farther out to sea. continues. that's a promising sign up and down the east coast. even cooler, breezy forecast for us today. temperatures as highs in the 50's. i think that's the trend for the weekend. we will run the risk of a couple of showers for southern areas. the closest pass of joaquin for us would be later monday into tuesday. only real effects for that would be mainly some higher surf after its closest pass monday into tuesday. you'll see the showers not all that far away. wouldn't take much of a nudge northward. the complicating factor is you'll notice this area of rain. it has nothing to do with the hurricane itself. it is an old fashioned nor'easter for areas of
5:17 am
the carolina. they will see six to ten inches of rain. it is an unnamed storm. it is going to have greater effects than anything. temperatures in the mid 30's up north. we're either side of 50. we'll have the breeze out of the northeast. it times it will kick up. you can see the cooler air. that will be around through the weekend. highs today likely tomorrow and continuing on through sunday. we'll be in the 50's. not many areas above 60 degrees. as i mentioned, line of showers not far away. really on the southern new hampshire door step. at any point, even though it is battling, a couple of these could try to wander in. the best chance would be later tonight or tomorrow morning. beyond that, we'll run the risk of a shower. even as you get up into central new hampshire, just too dry for that to reach the ground. then up into northern areas, you'll be and out of filter sunshine. it is good timing for the peak of the foyleage season there.
5:18 am
i think brighter on sunday. because of that, just a couple of degrees warmer. highs in the 50's, but likely in the upper half of the oo -- 50's for sunday afternoon. joaquin not moving much. you'll notice the trend here is for most of the computer maps to keep that farther offshore. as far as the projections, some computer maps send this into the east coast. most of the maps keeping it several hundred miles off shore which is certainly good news for most. as far as today is concerned, temperatures holding in the 50's after starting off in the 40's. it will be a relatively quiet day with a lot of clouds drying to streamline their day north. maybe a shower tomorrow as well. there may be a shower lasting into early sunday. nothing looks like a wash out. plan on them and plan there could be a shower coming through. closest pass will be monday afternoon.

5:46 am
degrees many locations. there are some 30's. what should be a fairly cloudy day for southern areas. up north you are in and out of the clouds and some filtered sunshine into the afternoon. making it temperatures in the 50's for the most part through the day today. we're talking anywhere between 55 and 60 for afternoon. coming along with this through the day today will be a breeze. that breeze is going to miles an hour. it is going to be a pretty stubborn climb to get back into the 50's. this plays out over the weekend. we'll have highs mainly in the 50's. you'll see again the thickest of the cloud cover in the southern parts of the state. up north, back and forth between clouds and sunshine. the risk of a shower or two for southern areas of the state. it may be light rain tonight or tomorrow morning. you'll notice just a couple of showers. even as far north as concord or farther north. the band of rain has to end somewhere. it may be in southern new hampshire.
5:47 am
notice the shower activity lingers around across southern parts. around here, we start to see a few more breaks bit time we gradually get toward the afternoon on sunday. there's joaquin to the south early this morning. a lot of moisture up and down the east coast. you'll notice the trend here on the forecast maps is to keep this farther off shore with time. you have to bear in mind even as it happens, that's what the majority of the maps have early this morning. there are still a few that have this wandering toward the east coast. i think most of the maps that are fairly trustworthy have been most consistent keep it relatively off shore. that's how it plays out. closest pass for us would be monday into tuesday. that would mean some rough surf for the seacoast. high temperatures today in the 50's. you'll notice again tonight we head back into the 40's in southern areas of the state. 30's up north. that's how it plays out over the weekend. temperatures in the 50's hard pressed to find in september. three or four days at or below the average.
5:48 am
we're going to have a couple of showers for southern areas. nothing that's going to slow down the outdoor plan. i think beyond that, the most organized chance of rain might be later tonight or very early tomorrow morning. otherwise partial sunshine into early next week. especially after joaquin moves away, the pattern starts to go back to what you would expect for this time of year. erin: all right. thank you. if you are looking for something to do this weekend, you may want to head to manchester. the ringling barnum and bailey is putting on shows. sean: i knew they were here. i saw the train cars. coming up this morning, he's being called the miracle dog. a pet survives with minor injuries after falling 11 stories from an apartment building. now time for the u local hot shots. looks like this guy isn't taking any chances when it comes to the weather. you've got to have the raincoat and an umbrella, without
