car. >> upon arrival we had 3 patients reported all ambulatory on arrival. that was our initial size up. ray: the two people in the subaru, 9-year-old carmine macri, and 57-year-old annemarie macri, were both taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. the accident backed traffic up for miles, forcing it to be diverted off the highway at exit 3. it addition to difficulties in removing the truck from the highway, there was also some spilled fuel that firefighters had to deal with. >> the truck is carrying is carrying a 90 gallon saddle tank about three quarters full. containment upon our arrival seems to have held it to the berm over here and we' re maintaining that. ray: and then just before the highway was re-opened, a minor fender bender southbound on 93, within about a quarter mile added to motorists headaches, fortunately once again the drivers were able to walk away at this point it' s unclear if the driver of the box truck will

face any charges. reporting live in windham, ray brewer, wmur news 9. sean: thanks, ray. meanwhile a close call for a , woman driving this morning in saugus massachusetts. check out what came crashing through her windshield on route one. this piece of scrap metal came flying off a truck and smashed into her car. luckily it hit the passenger side where no one was sitting. state police are now trying to track down the truck. an autopsy is underway that investigators expect to positively identify remains as those of a manchester woman who has been missing for 3 weeks. sue hutchinson was last seen on september 20 with her roommate stephen andrade. but late sunday night police found what they believe is hutchinson' s body in a crawlspace that was walled off behind a closet inside her home. investigators had searched her home twice before and found nothing. a big proposal this noon in the state' s battle against heroin. mayor ted gatsas was joined by lawmakers to unveil a plan for a statewide drug court grant program, and wmur' s andy hershberger was

live with the details. andy: supporters say this is an important step toward battling heroin and opioid addiction in new hampshire. this new legislation would establish drug courts in five counties and continue the operation of the courts that already exist. legislators said today they hope to fast track this $3 million bill and have it on the governors desk by february. supporters say drug courts have been effective tools wherever they have been instituted. the programs take high risk drug offenders and put them in intensive rehabilitation that includes random drug testing, weekly meetings with the court and swift and severe punishment for those who relapse. officials say we need these courts and we need them now. >> there is bipartisan support for this. i think on both sides of the aisle, people recognize that we are in the middle of the heroin

drug court is one part of that. andy: court officials say new drug courts could be operational as early as april. reporting live in manchester andy hershberger wmur newsnine. ,sean: thanks. new this noon, a man is in custody accused of threatening loss prevention employees at the mall at rockingham park. police say victor alvarado was trying to steal a bottle of cologne when he was caught by loss prevention officers. he pulled out a switchblade and threatened them and warned them not to call police. he was later captured in a nearby swamp and charged with robbery and criminal threatening with a deadly weapon. in nashua school officials met , with parents this morning, after a threatening list was found at nashua north. a student spoke up after discovering that a classmate had a copy of a book called death note with 17 names in it. the book is based on a japanese anime cartoon where characters can write down the names of people who have wronged them and in the cartoon the book has the power to cause harm to those listed. the superintendent says students

weather today that ended kevin: showering start to the day, that things will be brightening through the afternoon. foliage helped by sunshine out there. temperatures have been a little bit stubborn, but by the afternoon should jump quite a bit. clouds will be thinning and there will be a breeze helping through the remainder of the afternoon. a little bit of a marine layer and showers to lingering. notice how quickly those are exiting to the northeast and pushing toward maine. that' s all it' s going to take this afternoon to get temperatures back into the 60' s and lower 70' s. you will notice a line of showers back to the west trying not to dry up by the time they

this is the first of several disturbances that will eventually knocked temperatures back three or four degrees, eventually bottoming out to the 40' s by the time we get to sunday. the gradual cooldown continues as the showers make their way northeast. a couple of breaks in the overcast to brighten things up a little bit across the area. temperatures right now anywhere from the mid-50' s in southeastern parts of the state to the areas that have been seeing breaks of sunshine. temperatures still running 10-15 degrees cooler than we were yesterday at this time. of course yesterday, a lot of folks finishing in the 70' s. today, a lot of folks in issuing in this xts. tomorrow, a lot of folks will finish in the mid-60' s. a little bit of sunshine to start tomorrow but we will add clouds through the afternoon.
