the final four in baseball's playoffs are set. now that the mets have beaten the donors in the final game of their series. new york got off to a good start, scoring a run on daniel murphy's first inning hit. then with the mets down 2-1, murphy scored in the fourth to tie it at two. he came up again in the sixth inning and nailed what would would be the game winning so low home run. the mets win 3-2 and they will now host the cubs in game one of the national league championship series starting tomorrow night. i love this story. you know all mets fans are happy about the success. but there's one who is probably a little bit more ecstatic than the others. meet add line rousseau. she just turned 100 years old on wednesday. >> she was originally a brooklyn dodgers fan, but when had he left for los angeles, add line said good riddance. so she supported the mets since they started in 1962. and like many mets fans she has no love for new york's other team.

supporters in the u.s. would use it to stage attacks. if he's tried and convicted in the u.s., he faces 35 years in prison. u.s. troops will remain in afghanistan through most of next year. president obama had promised to bring all the troops home sooner, but that was before the taliban's resurgence. now more than 5,000 will continue to serve. nearly 10,000 troops will remain through next year. >> this modest but meaningful extension of our presence while sticking to our current narrow missions can make a real difference. it's the right thing to do. >> republican presidential candidates jeb bush and marco rubio criticized the decision saying the number of troops was far too low. burba accused the -- bush accused the president of undermining military commanders. hillary clinton's top aide about will be interviewed behind closed doors today about the terror attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi.

danger. forestry officials in texas are bringing in a dc-10 tanker to battle a raging wildfire that's burned nearly three dozen homes east of austin. the dc-10 is capable of dropping about 12,000 gallons of retardant, a much needed tool to help control those out of control flames. >> reporter: military helicopters helping take on a blaze that in 24 hours exploded in size. burning at least nine homes to the ground. the governor declaring a state of disaster. >> this has to be an echo of a nightmare that they faced just a few years ago. >> reporter: in 2011, the most destructive blaze in texas history leveled more than 1,600 homes near bastrop and killed two people. it is hot and dry here now, even after record rainfall just this spring. more than 400 homes evacuated. >> there's nothing you can do except pray. >> reporter: and you can see these large military helicopters have been dropping

u.s. would use it to stage attacks. if the man in custody is tried and convicted in the u.s., he faces 35 years in prison. a new development in the case of pan am flight 103. that was the airliner that went down over lockerbie, scotland in 1988 killing all 270 people on board. the plot to take down the plane has always been tied to libya. prosecutors in the u.s. and britain have now identified two new suspects who they want to question but that is unlikely given the turmoil in libya. word of the new suspects comes about the case aired on pbs. the u.n. security council meets in a special session today to address the increasing violence in the middle east. in an attempt to avert more deadly attacks israel has barred young muslim men from its most sensitive holy site in jerusalem, the hilltop compound is sacred to both muslims and jews and has been at the center of the recent violence. >> some rare extreme storms in southern california.

a major north/south thoroughfare could be shut down all day after flash flooding swamped the area with mud. and water this is the scene north of los angeles, a 30-mile section of interstate 5 covered in the muck five feet deep in some spots, stranding delivers in both directions. nearly 1.5 inch of rain in a very short time flooded many secondary roads trapping residents in their homes. so far no reports of any injuries. >> and in texas, forestry officials are recruiting a dc-10 tanker to battle a raging wild fire that has burned nearly three dozen homes east of austin. it's capable of dropping about 12,000 gallons of water and retardant, a much needed tool since there's no rain in sight. so far flames have scorched through six square miles and wiped out nearly three dozen homes. former nba star lamar odom is still on life support this morning, days after he was found unconscious at a nevada brothel.
