we're going to start to really cool off over the weekend. hayley: in a big way. the temperatures are going to be the highs that a lot of us will get to on sunday. a chilly start this morning. once we get there, before we get there, we have a couple of systems to move through that will bring us the chance for rain and snow showers. there was a live look in manchester. it is 47 degrees. 47 in nashua. about 44 in concord. look at 50's upper valley and up in the great north woods. all due to the clouds. they've been thicker in those areas overnight. that keeps the temperatures a little bit warmer typically. now there are a couple of scattered showers moving through. for the most part, they've been up to the north and in the upper valley. all of us run the risk of seeing scattered showers. the skies should clear out. mperatures will top out later this afternoon in the 50's statewide. i'll have more on the forecast for you in a couple of minutes. first for a look at the

office has ruled her death a homicide. new information in the case. good morning, ray. ray: good morning, erin. the ag's office says the medical examiners office determined that 57-year-old sue hutchinson was strangled and the prime suspect in her murder is a roommate, 36-year-old stephen andrade. hutchinson was last seen september 20th. her roommate disappeared the follows day. police say he shot himself in a hotel in massachusetts. this past sunday, family members reported a strange smell inside hutchinson's apartment in manchester. when police searched again, they found her body hidden in a crawl space behind a closet. investigators say there are challenges with cases like this. >> well, in any case where the suspect is deceased, it is difficult because the person who knows what happens can't give you

ray: the ag's office says they are still looking into the circumstances surrounding hutchinson and andrade's death. they are not commenting on any possible motive. reporting live in manchester, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: this morning fish and game officials say they will at least double the number of people searching for a missing hiker in the white mountains. officers say 64-year-old claire marie cocuzzo set out on a hike on october 5th from the mt. garfield trail head to bond cliff and back. she planned to return last weekend. officers have been searching from the air and the ground. they checked the amc huts in the area. sean: jury deliberations will continue in the murder trial of tristan wolusky. the man is charged with first and second degree

death of aaron will will will -- wilkinson. the defense claims those men died and wolusky didn't know they had brought knives and a machete. prosecutors allege he is the one that is lying. all three men worked together. ! a man from maine is dead after a pickup truck crashed in hampton falls yesterday morning. police say 71-year-old daniel alexander died at the hospital. his passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries. it is not clear why the road. erin: new hampshire is getting more time to comply with the real id act. four states, including new hampshire, have not adopted the standards. starting sometime next year, non-compliant driver's license will not be enough to let you board an airplane. now homeland security says it will accept new hampshire licenses until june. because there's a new bill in concord to bring

hayley: good morning, new hampshire. it is 6:10. here's a live look by the seacoast. looks like we have a little bit of fog there. temperatures on a cool note in the 40's. there might be a couple of scattered showers moving through this morning as well. later this afternoon, we'll break out of that and see sunshine with temperatures climbing into the 50's this afternoon. erin: a fraternity at a college in upstate new york is the only safe haven for victims of human trafficking in the northeast. sean: that's right. it was just certified by the safe haven campaign. members were trained how to spot signs of human trafficking and to become allies while helping them find proper resources. with the proximity to the canadian border, they felt it was an important effort. >> it is just a way for us to start reaching out and try to encourage other groups and other student organizations to

sean: the goal is to help them become the first college certify as a human trafficking safe haven by the end of next semester. erin: maggie hassan helped celebrate special birthdays yesterday. she stopped by to meet seven women who have each celebrated their 100th birthday. other families were on hand. the governor spent sometime with each woman and the staff that carries for them. there are typically about 200 centurians living in new hampshire. sean: can you imagine the discussions about the many decades? a lot of history. coming up, talk about a traffic nightmare. hundreds of cars were stranded because of massive mud slides. erin: las vegas is a gambling capital.

the erin: parts of two major highways are closed after heavy rains triggered mud slides. hundreds of vehicles are stranded. many people are trapped in their homes. flooding started just before the evening commute. crews are working to clear the highways. the process could take all day. in some places, the mud is about five feet deep. in central texas, the problem there is a large wild fire that has consumed about three dozen homes and charred more than six square miles. starting this morning, firefighters will get air support from a massive jet tanker that can drop 12,000 gallons at a time. the fire is only about

worry about that. here's a live look in portsmouth. looks like we've got fog or drizzle coming down. i wouldn't be surprised if even a couple of showers had been moving through as well. this is cold front part one that's moving through at this hour. there's the traffic circle. the pavement there looks dry. we are pretty cloudy across the area this morning. something you probably noticed when we're looking at the webcameras, the fact that it is still dark at 6:18. that's because the sunrise has been happening later and later. now it is happening today. officially at 7:01 this morning, the sunrise happening. november 1st by the end of the month, we'll get more daylight. the clocks are going to fall back. 6:21 will be the sunrise time. we continue to lose more daylight time in the morning as the sunrise happens even later once we get to november 16th a month from now with the sunrise happening at about 6:40. lots of clouds.

out to the families. ray: the main suspect is andrade who killed himself in a hotel on october 6th. >> that's where we're focusing. we continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to and surrounding both miss hutchinson's murder and mr. andrade's life. ray: based on statements, they believe andrade killed hutchinson, fled, and eventually took his own life. >> in any case where the suspect is deceased, it is difficult. the person who knows what happened can't give you that story. ray: once again the ag's office looking into a possible motive for the death. live in manchester, wmur news 9. erin: new this morning, nashua police are investigating an overnight robbery. it happened at the mobil gas station shortly after midnight. no injuries were reported. no word on whether or

the question is will he run? new this morning, we're learning that one of the vice president's top political advisors says if he decided to run, his focus would be on restoring middle class values. president obama is amendmenting troop withdraw plans from afghanistan. there are about 9,800 troops. nearly all were supposed to be home by the end of 2016. the president will leave as many as 5,500 troops on the ground on the recommendation of the top commanders. the president says it is a modest but meaningful extension. runners will be hitting the pavement literally and virtually for the foley foundation 5k in rochester this weekend. new hampshire native and journalist james foley was killed by isis in 2014. the 5k starts at the rochester fairgrounds at 10:00 a.m. if you can't attend, you can participate
