now, wmur news 9 tonight. shelley: planned parenthood in claremont is closed because of vandalism. police say a boy broke into the clinic early this morning and destroyed thousands of dollars of equipment. good evening to you. tom: this wasn' t the first time the health center was targeted this month. stephanie woods is live in claremont. reporter: claremont police say three weeks ago, someone spray-painted graffiti on the outside of this clinic. since then, police have stepped up patrols. they say, last night, they found someone inside. >> catching the individual in the building, essentially in the act. reporter: police say a juvenile broke into the claremont planned parenthood center, destroyed equipment, cut phone lines, and damaged exam rooms. the boy allegedly damaged the plumbing.

>> at this point in time, it is it. obviously significant. reporter: in a statement, governor hassan condemns the act and says it hurts women in the claremont region. reporter: chief scott says someone spray-painted graffiti on the front of the building on october 6. >> it is under investigation now to determine whether there is a and this one. reporter: planned parenthood said that included hate speech directed at health center workers. in a statement, they said -- >> planned parenthood has serviced this community for over

they are not a facility that provides abortions. they provide critical reproductive health services and family planning services to citizens in this community. the damage to them is felt community-wide. reporter: this clinic is one of five planned parenthood locations across the state. planned parenthood says they are doing everything they can to get this location up and running as soon as possible. live in claremont, stephanie woods. tom: thank you. police in atkinson say they busted a sizable marijuana growing operation. a couple in their 60' s facing charges after investigators found seven pounds of marijuana in their home. they are free on bail tonight. adam sexton spoke to the husband, who says there' s another side to his story. reporter: we spoke to robert zdrada. while he did not want to discuss specifics of the case, he

heart disease and cancer and he lives every day in serious pain. robert and valerie zdrada never expected to end up in police mug, but officers arrested them monday after rating there atkinson home on crown hill road. investigators found just over seven pounds of marijuana and charged the couple with felony possession with intent to distribute. zdrada is a well-known sports athletic booster in the school system. his wife does senior portraits for local students. the district told news 9 it has s, investigation. robert zdrada said he could not discuss anything related to the criminal charges, but did tell us about his medical history. he says over the last decade, he has endured serious health problems including heart

zdrada says his tongue is in chronic pain, making eating difficult. the zdrada' s, who lived in atkinson for more than 30 years, are free on personal recognizance bail. robert zdrada says his continue would qualify him to use therapeutic cannabis. fully implemented. shelley: thank you. dover police are searching for a missing woman, 28-year-old danielle isabel last seen at her home on 1st street last saturday. she has medical issues because of a recent car crash. isabel is 5' 4", 126 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. a student has been arrested for threatening violence at high school in massachusetts. police say they got a report on monday that the 16-year-old made a threat to another student,

the teenager was evaluated at a hospital and arraigned in court yesterday. investigators say they don' t believe the school faculty or students were in danger. tom: new hampshire' s only death row inmate appealing his conviction. michael addison was convicted in 2008 for the shooting death of the police officer michael briggs. his attorney says the trial judge violated his rights by not allowing jurors to hear evidence that he was remorseful and was in custody. the supreme court is not required to hear that of feel. a former teacher has waived a court appearance for tomorrow on charges that he sexually assaulted a student. donald low back was a teacher in concord. officials say the alleged assaults happened in 2013 and 2014 when the male student was 13 years old. the case will now go to a grand

the hempstead road fire station will reopen tomorrow, 3.5 months budget cuts. voters overturned those cuts. last night, counselors added $1.6 million back into the budget. counselors say they will be working with other town their budgets as well. shelley: vice president joe biden will not be running for the white house in 2016. today, he ended months of speculation and shared the reasoning behind his decision. kenneth mouton as our commitment 2016 coverage. reporter: vice president joe biden says his tie to jump into the 2016 race has passed. >> it may well be that that process, by the time we get through it, closes the window on mounting a realistic campaign. i'

bernie sanders thank biden for his lifetime of public service. kenneth mouton, abc news. shelley: new hampshire supporters say they were just stunned by today' s announcement. his would-be state campaign chair says, as late as monday night, beau biden campaign was ready to go. >> we all thought it was imminent. that would be from the upper staff, but also from my own personal contacts. at the same time, i completely respect his decision. shelley: supporters say the vice president' s decision today does not diminish any of his accomplishments. on the republican side, the lineup for the next debate has been set. cnbc announced that the main debate will include these 10 candidates. it is one less than the debate because governor scott walker suspended his campaign. the debate is next wednesday at

8:00. the five candidates who did not place in the top 10 in polling will debate earlier in the evening. tom: president obama announced his plans to fight drug abuse today in west virginia, which has the highest rate of overdose deaths in the country. the president ordered federal agencies to offer training on prescribing painkillers. he also outlined steps to ease access to drug treatment. >> this crisis is taking lives, destroying families, shattering communities across the country. that is the thing about substance abuse, it doesn' t discriminate. tom: the white house also announced commitments from the fraternal order of police to expand training on a drug that can reverse the effects of a overdose. here in new hampshire, giving drug users a chance at freedom while holding them accountable.

shelley: hillary clinton will be on capitol hill tomorrow to answer questions about benghazi. four americans died in the 2012 attack while clinton was secretary of state. a house committee is investigating the response to that attack. the unrest is updating its policies to recognize same-sex marriages. tom: the change follows the supreme court decision in june that legalized same-sex marriage in every state. the irs has recognized same-sex

marriages for tax purposes since 20 as long as they were performed in states where the marriage is legal. the new hampshire preservation alliance unveiled its seven to save list. this year' s designation of historic properties includes items in urgent need of preservation. it includes a property that we showed you last night, the chandler home in manchester. also on the list, the hall of flags at the statehouse and the collection of bullet torn and bloodstained banners. >> this list of endangered or threatened historic properties really is designed to call attention to places in need and hopefully attract the resources they need to succeed in saving historic places.

tom: tom: in the 1980' s. mike: you just didn' t have the flux capacitor. tom: i didn' t have the money. mike: that would be important. time let' s overcast skies at times. a couple of light showers scooted through. kind of busy out there in market square. time ago. as we go closer and closer into late fall, we get a bump in those temperatures. tomorrow, that surge of late-season warmth is going to blast in. one is a warm front moving through right now with a couple scattered showers. the other is a cool front that will signal a dip in the temperature. by then, temperatures drop to or below the norm. right now, showers through the upper valley. not much happening south and east of the lakes region.

next 2, 3, 4 hours. by early morning, we should get a bit of a break, especially in the north country. by afternoon, this cool front approaches. temperature wise, right now, holding on to 40' s and lower 50' s. the normal high this time of year, mid-to-upper 50' s. we are close to that. that indicates a warm overnight. tomorrow, in between the two fronts, all of this moves on in. 60' s and very low 70' s. as we turn the page thursday night into friday, we are talking about much cooler air in the northern plains. that will linger into a good part of saturday before it warms just a bit with a couple scattered showers. speaking of shatter -- of showers, a few scattered overnight and tomorrow.

anywhere in the afternoon as that cool front approaches. once it clears, we are in the clear for a lot of sun. wind out of the north. it will be breezy, bright, but much cooler. highs tomorrow jumping into the 60' s and low 70' s. well above average. normal high in the upper 50' s. we are going to be nowhere close to that. friday, here comes that classic fall chill. mid-to-upper 40' s, great north woods. near 50 at best and lower 50' s for points south and southeast. that means a chilly friday night, a very cool start to saturday. very close to the average. on sunday, there we go, back into the low 60' s.
