we're not seeing any problems from plymouth to concord. from manchester to salem, you are looking at a 21-minute ride. 293 is moving well with no delays. even through the lane shifts between exits five and three. 111 is also an easy ride. this report is being brought to you by autofair. i'm deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. erin: we start out here with a developing story out of manchester. flames ripped through an apartment building early this morning. sean: firefighters were called to clifford avenue just after midnight, sending residents running for safety. ray byer joins us live near the scene. scary night. ray: it was a scary night for the people. at one point, every fire truck in the city was here according to the district fire chief. there were people inside that building that needed help in going out. getting out rather.

it was just after midnight when firefighters were called to the scene. multiple 911 calls coming in reporting the avenue. when firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the rear of the building. the porches on the second and third floors were engulfed. the roof. the apartment building was fully occupied. the district fire chief says there main concern was in trying to keep the fire from spreading and also in getting the people out. >> trying to keep the origin. the primary issue was rescue of the people that were -- couldn't get out or had a hard time getting out. they approached at this point with the people evacuating the building. they did keep the fire at the building of origin. ray: residents say they heard a loud explosion. something that shook the building.

it is too soon to say how or where the fire might have started. live in manchester, ray brewer. erin: owen labrie has been financed to a year in jail. he is free on bail this morning as his appeals process continues. before he was sentenced, the girl labrie was convicted of sexually assaulting addressed the court. she spoke about how this has impacted her life and why she's fighting so hard for justice. the judge sentenced labrie to one years behind bars, five years of probation, and ordered him to register as a sex offend per of he can apply to be removed 15 years after serving his sentence. >> the public has been exposed to an undenially truth. they don't come in only one mold. they, scholar athletes, teachers, parents, and friends. >> i think he's going to deal with it the way he has been. he's going to turn to

his family, friends, and loved ones. he's a strong young man. trying to make the best out of a difficult situation. erin: labrie will not begin serving his sentence right away. he's allowed to remain free on bail. that process could take a year and a half. sean: turning to our political coverage now, you could see two presidential hopefuls here in the granite state today. lindsey graham has stopped plans in concord and manchester. bernie sanders will be in manchester, nashua, and derry to start a two-day visit. hillary clinton wrapped up a two-day swing of her own through the granite state with stops in the north country. she starletted in berlin and ended with an economic round stable at littleton high school. clinton fielded questions from a crowd of 300 people and talked about the need for more foreign diplomacy and clean energy jobs. >> i want to do

rural america a leader in clean energy. i think the rural america can be the super power of the 21st century. sean: jeb bush came after the gop debate. he picked up the endorsement of judd gregg. >> he has put forward more thoughts than all of the other candidates combined. >> i appreciate the fact they see in me maybe they are looking in the mirror a little bit. seeing someone who has a proven record of success. doesn't want to talk about things but wants to solve problems. sean: bush says he will be spending a lot of time in new hampshire as he tries to reenergize his campaign. erin: a prisoner who walked away from a transitional housing have in concord four weeks ago has been caught. 21-year-old adam bergeron was tracked to

the home. he was serving time back in 2013. he was recently eligible for parole. that had not been approved. he will now face escape charges. sean: more than 20 people were hurt when a plane taxiing for take off burst into flames sending passengers racing for cover. it appears the 767 was leaking fuel before the fire sparked. bazi kanani reports. reporter: good morning. everyone managed to get off of the plane with no smoke. airport officials say it could have been so much worse. the panicked moments before takeoff. >> on fire. on fire. reporter: passengers sliding down the evacuation chutes and running to safety. >> i heard a loud bang. then i saw the lights and flames. reporter: the emergency

an investigation is underway into what sparked an early morning fire at an apartment building in manchester. erin: the fire started shortly after midnight. that's just off massabesic street. ray brewer live in manchester. was anyone hurt in the fire? ray: fire officials saying one person did have to be taken to the hospital. aside from that, everyone made it out. although some people did need help in getting out. now residents tell us that they heard a loud explosion just after midnight at 27 clifford avenue. then they started to smell the smoke. when firefighters arrived, flames on the porches in the back of the building were on the second and third floor were covered with flames. firefighters say the 12 unit building was fully occupied with 14 adults and six children. when they arrived, some of the people were still inside. they needed help getting out as the thick smoke was making it extremely difficult to see. one woman who was up

making the halloween costume for work says after hearing the explosion, she started to smell the smoke and could hear people screaming. >> i went to the door. i could see flames dripping down. like a water fall. i just heard a bunch of people screaming. i could smell the smoke. i had to wake up my husband and son who were sleeping and get them out as soon as possible. ray: the fire spread quickly. they credit the fire department for responding quickly. it is close to other structures. they were able to keep it confined to the apartment house. as far as how it started or where it started, invegas gators say it is too soon to say. live in manchester, ray brewer. erin: all right. thank you. the st. paul school graduate convicted of sexually assaulting an underclassman has been

handed a one-year jail sentence. sean: owen labrie was sentenced to five years of probation. he will have to register as a sex offender. they found him guilty of a felony charge to use a computer as well as three misdemeanor sexual assault charges. the jury acquitted him on three felony charges. a distinction that was important to the judge. >> it seems that the judge was -- he was very certain to make sure everyone knew he was sentencing mr. labrie on the sentences for history was convicted and not the ones he was acquitted. the state's argument was more focused on the defenses for which he was acquitted. sean: appeals could take a year to 18 months. he's allowed to remain free on bail. erin: merrimack police are asking for your help in finding

shooting a cat. the cat was shot multiple times in the area of waterville drive. the cat returned home limping on october 22nd. he was taken to a vet but had to be put down due to the extent of the injuries. sean: a pelham man is facing charges after crashing his suv. 3939-year-old jared sparks was driving drunk when he slammed into a telephone pole. sparks tried to flee the scene. he was arrested on a charge of di. he is due in court next month. ! a man wanted in florida has been arrested here in new hampshire. jacob howard, 28, is facing 23 counts of credit card fraud. he had a warrant out for his arrest yesterday. howard is scheduled to be arraigned today on a fugitive from justice charge.

erin: nine people from lebanon are facing drug-related charges this morning. robert tobin, david aspen, and eric therrien are accused of selling heroin. candace allain is accused of selling crack cocaine. the other suspects are accused of a variety of drug related crimes. kevin nile was arrested for setting pecker set, trench is accused of selling oxycodone, kozak is charged with selling msma and brown and martin are charged with conspiracy to sell heroin. sean: a landmark building has been sold to developers who intend to use it as a drug addiction recovery center. the 37,000 square foot building will house hope for new hampshire. the first floor will be a recovery center. the other floors will offer residential

erin: a school in lowell, massachusetts is expected to re-open today after the entire building was evacuated yesterday when dozens of people got sick. cleaning crews stayed late into the night cleaning and sanitizing the middle school. just before noon, they evacuated of school after 60 students got sick. at first officials were concerned carbon monoxide may be to blame. that was not the cause. teachers handed had water to try to ease the nauseous stops. >> my best friend she said she drank the water. you could see in her face she was about to throw up. erin: so many students fell ill that a doctor went to the school to evaluate them. it is still unclear what caused the kids to get so sick. sean: an american airlines

a man walked in and refused to return to his seat. he made several sometimes that caused alarm. they were able to subdue him until the plane landed. >> we got duct tape and handcuffs. we had to hold the guy in the seat and fasten his seat belt. we said if you get up, we're going to duct tape you together. we diverted to phoenix. we got pushed by the phoenix police when we landed. >> it is extremely scary. the entire plane was nervous. you could feel the energy toward the back. everybody was anxious to see what was going to happen. sean: when the plane did land, they escorted the man off. the flight arrived seven hours late. erin: a new study shows that singing to your crying baby is much more soothing than simply talking to them. researchers at the university of montreal found that singing or playing music will keep the child calm for up to
