erin: we begin with breaking news. there is a serious rollover crash in manchester this hour. this is the scene on beech street. i am erin fehlau. a telephone pole has been sheared off in the trash. amy coveno joins us live from the scene. amy: we are at the corner of beach and solar street in manchester. beautifully sunny day. quite a bit of chaos for this neighborhood. utility pole you referenced is hanging in the wires here. our tow truck is on the scene to win one of two cars involved in this. this appears to have taken the brunt of the crash that occurred about an hour ago. we got here and you are tons of people standing on street watching this unfold. i want to bring in chuck smith. he has been here for most of the scene to tell us what he saw. tell us what you saw. erin:

the car rolled over and there was smoke coming from it and the telephone pole was taken out and i asked people what had happened and there were people dragracing and one of the cars had been clicked and rolled over many times, taking out the poll and the fence along with it. amy: thank you so much for that update. we understand at least two people have been transported. one of the passengers may have been a pregnant woman. we are waiting to talk to authorities and we will have much more for you tonight on wmur beginning at 5:00. erin: thank you so much. breaking this hour in franklin, crews are monitoring a hazmat situation. emergency groups were called to watts water technologies on industrial park drive this morning. the truck was making a delivery and when they opened the trailer, one person snow lafell -- smelled a foul odor that made them sick.

workers described a strong garlic smell but have not determined the source of the order. the truck is at a safe location as crews work to find the source now. a man in candia is taken to the hospital this morning after his paraglider crashed into a tree. officials say he is an experienced pilot, and weather time. for flying. which you can see it is. evidently he had some type of mechanical failure. erin: the victim, who was in his 50' to get help and is expected to be all right. an unexpected find for state police has led to a large seizure of cash and drugs. authorities say they thought they were investigating a case out to be a whole lot more. the man at the center of the investigation has just faced a

judge, but questions remain about who he is. ray brewer is live outside the court with the latest. ray: state police say the man in question has been using several names but now he is telling police that he is a citizen of the dominican republic. >> search warrant was initiated to search for documents. ray: but instead of documents, this is what state police say they found. over $50,000 of cash, along with heroin, bricks of cocaine, percocet, and marijuana, drugs with a street value of $140,000. investigation began six weeks ago when police were tipped off by the dmv that identity fraud might be taking place. >> we discovered that several people were utilizing an address in manchester. ray: the person at the center of the investigation is now facing seven felony and four misdemeanor charges. police say he has been living in the u.s. using a stolen identity

>> the subject has been living in the united states for 20 years under a false identity, and identity he knew had been stolen from a u.s. citizen living in puerto rico. ray: noting his past history, which dates back to 1993 in rhode island, the judge set bail at $40,000 cash, double what the prosecution requested. he is due back in court on the 16th for his probable cause hearing. as part of the bail conditions, before he can be release, he will have to prove his identity to the satisfaction of new hampshire' s state police. there will also be a hearing held on the source of funds if he is able to pay the $40,000 cash bail. reporting live in manchester, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: new this noon come on man is under arrest after a crash in marlborough. police say the 20 three-year-old was driving on route 124 last night when he allegedly crossed the center line, hitting another

three people, including newman, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. police believe newman was impaired by prescription drugs at the time and is charged with aggravated driving while under the influence of drugs. in commitment 2015 coverage, the polls are open in communities around the state today, including in ten cities where voters will elect mayors. elections officials in manchester are expecting a near record turnout today for a municipal election. it' s expected to be a close race between republican incumbent mayor ted gatsas and demcoratic challenger joyce craig. the environment is better, the economic development is better. let' s keep working and moving in the city. >> we have spent a lot of time, about seven months, knocking on doors throughout the city with hundreds of volunteers to i think there is excitement in the city for any opportunity and leadership in manchester.

erin: the presidential race continues through new hampshire today. republican jeb bush kicks off a three-day bus tour with stops today in rye and raymond. and democrat martin o' malley has town hall meetings in manchester, durham, and keene today. new hampshire' s first-in-the-nation primary status hasn' t always been a sure thing. 40 years ago, former state rep jim splaine filed a bill that separated the primary from town meeting day. secretary of state bill gardner says without that bill becoming law, the primary as we know it would not exist. but at the time, splaine had to fight to pass the bill. >> was the reaction? four people saying this was going to cost more money? >> a bit of a sigh. democrats and republicans in the 1975 legislature were thinking,
