he admitted to several aliases and believe he used a fake identity for two decades. this man was arraigned on numerous felonies including charges stemming from this stash of drugs and cash that police say they found in his manchester apartment. they say he went by the name miguel angel sanchez carballo, an identity stolen from a u.s. citizen who lived in puerto rico. authorities say the d.m.v. tipped them off that someone was using false documents to get a drivers license and register man. >> the search warrant discovered, was initiated for documents to support his false identity as well as hopefully finding out his true identity. at the time we discovered a large amount of drugs and a large amount of cash in the apartment. we remodified our search warrant and seesessed all the items.

bail until his next court appearance and has to prove to police that he is who he says he is. tom: as new hampshire find itself in a war against heroin and opioid addiction, governor hassan is calling on lawmakers to convene a special session month in order to focus carely on the crisis. jennifer: the governor is proposing a number of meshers and tomorrow will ask the executive council to order lawmakers back to work. wmur political director josh mcelveen is here now with more on this. josh: republican leaders in the house and senate have charged for months that governor hassan has been slow to react to the heroin cries and is they aren't too keen on the idea of a fast process they say could have unintended consequences in the medical community. but the governor wants changes made and he shns them now. >> i think this is much too pressing an issue. we are losing lives every day. for us to wait until april or may to pass these necessary changes. reporter: changes that include

changes to make the illegal sale of fentanyl the same crime as heroin and changes to limit the amount of opioids doctors can prescribe in new hampshire. all part of a package the governor wants taken up this month and outside the politics of the regular session. >> we think that this way the legislature can put its sole focus on just the opioid crisis. >> we knew where we were going with this, we were going to put it on the governor's desk in january. reporter: the senate president insists the heroin crisis would top the list of the priorities that start at the new year. >> i strongly believe this is a pressing issuing for new hampshire. but when we enter politics into situations like this it's not a good way to make the process move forward. reporter: even so, the governor is calling on the republican held executive council to force lawmakers back to work. >> this is about saving lives and i am quite sure, just as legislators in both chambers are hearing from their constituents about that, that the councilors

are too. josh: we reachedded out to one republican member of the council for his take and he says he hasn't heard from the governor directly about this matter and found out about her plans just this afternoon. sununu who is also running for governor says he'll listen to what has an sass -- listen to what hassan has to say. josh mcelveen, wmur news 9. jennifer: hassan's opponent in 2016, senator kelly ayotte weighed in on this back and forth in concord saying that everyone needs to work together to combat the heroin crisis. today she also proposed a federal bill enhancing treatment for pregnant women who are hooked on hair own or opioids, which includes a pilot program to help them in nonresidential settings. >> when it finally came up to its last tip, they fell out of the windshield. tom: an eyewitness account, a new graphic video of a rollover

crash in manchester, the driver and a pregnant passenger both thrown out of the car. jennifer: it happened on beech street. amy coveno is at the scene. power was knocked out in this area as a result of this crash. reporter: some seven hours after this crash you can see utility crews here just wrapping up their work. nay had to replace the pole there to get neighbors back on the grid. neighbors here in this area say beach street is notorious for dangerous driving, they are hoping this accident will put a spotlight on that and maybe they'll see changes. >> i saw the car rolled over. i saw that and then there was smoke coming from it. reporter: neighbors here say beech street is notorious for risky driving. what happened here just before 11:00 tuesday morning ejected a pregnant woman and the driver from the saab convertible.

behind him, so the mazda came up, went around him and then so this was another car in front of the mazda, so the mazda was trying to squeeze in between the two. reporter: witnesses say when the cars made contact, the saab went airborne. >> the saab went up through the pole and rolled about four or five times and i saw the two people get shot right out of the wind shed. reporter: investigators say dennis and his wife brittany were transported with nonlife threatening injuries. >> the guy was sitting up, covered in blood, the girl was on the ground, feeling her head. reporter: the driver of the mazda, greg bolu. investigators were talking with witnesses and trying to locate surveillance video while utility crews worked to replace the utility pole and get residents back on the grid. >> it's a scary sight, and i still haven't calmed down. reporter: back live now, utility crews clearing out of here. residents and witnesses are divided on this, some say those cars were drag racing, others

police say no charges are being filed at this point. amy coveno, wmur news 9. tom: thank you. right now voters in the state's two largest cities are deciding who will lead them for the next two years. in manchester mayor ted gatsas is fighting to keep his job against challenger joyce craig. meanwhile in nashua, it's a guaranteed new face, wmur's adam sexton live in nashua tonight with more. reporter: tom, those are the two headline races tonight, mayor gatsas looking to hold onto the a fourth term. and here in nashua you've got a pair of candidates who really partisan labels. one of them a rising star in the republican party and the other a situation. back in the 80's a rising star ago. the ballots are coming in from around the gate city, and turnout is said to be high as nashua votes for a new mayor. the choice is between former

and c.e.o. chris williams and alderman jim dodges, williams is making a strong pitch for the youth vote while dodges is pointing to his previous tenure as mayor back in the 1980's. mayor before. we were the best place to live in america then, so i think people are looking for someone with experience and the knowledge of the community. >> we have two good candidates in this race. the city can't go wrong with either of us, but we have an option of being good or being great. and i think a lot of our voters are excited to try new ideas in nashua that will make the city great. reporter: as far as who will come out on top, the campaigns expect this race to be very close. but both candidates say they're ready to hit the ground running if they win. >> we have some very concerned citizens across the city that are watching our tax rate and watching our become spending and that will be priority one for me. >> we have a heroin public health emergency in the city and

that need to be taken on right away. reporter: tonight we'll have up to nibility results on wmur.com and reaction from the winners at 11:00. jennifer: today martin o'malley laid out seven actions he says he would take if elected to reduce gun violence. this comes on the same day that fellow candidate hillary clinton launched a television ad on that same issue. wmur's mike cronin live now with the details of o'malley's plan. reporter: o'malley says he has the boldest plan for gun violence prevention and is asking his fellow democratic oh point tonight back his proposals. his actions include overturning a new law that protects dealers. and tougher laws on selling guns and storing them in homes. when he was governor of maryland, o'malley says he passed one of the country's most come rehencive gun safety laws. gun violence has become a key

mike: what a day out there, started with a few patchy clouds, a little fog in spots. but as you can see from time lapse in the lakes region, a fair amount of sun all day long. the sun is now down, temperatures are beginning to cool a little. after topping off well above the average today. the reason why, a front is sitting off to our north. that allows the flood gates to continue to open for temperatures to be well above average. how high do those temperatures go today, josh judge standing by in manchester with a look at some of those impressive numbers. >> they certainly were impressive, mike, and outdoors was really busy today. people we saw out were wearing shorts and short sleeved shirts. summer attire once again, and

after dark we're on elm street and it's still busy, there's lots of people out and about, and why not because it so comfortable out here, low humidity, not all that cool yet. of course temperatures will be cooling with the clearing skies. lower 70's across southern new hampshire. ' 73 in concord, manchester, nashua and 70 at the coast. 72 in the monadnock region. the upper valley and lakes region around 70 as well. did we hit any record, no, we didn't. but look how close we came. 73 in concord and 70 in portsmouth. concord just a few degrees away from the 77-degree record from 1990. and portsmouth six degrees away from the 76-degree record also from 1990. if you're wondering the rest of this week the temperature records under the mid 70's as well. what do we normally see this time of year? the average high for concord is 54 degrees, the average low 31. the record low, by the way, this

shows the wide range of temperatures we can see. the record from 1980, 13 degrees. so it's such a wide range, almost like gambling, never know what you're going to get this time of year. but you do, don't you? mike: i'll tell you be beyond a week or two you never know when the cold air comes back, because there are parts of the country right now that are snowing. right now in new hampshire still on the mild side relatively speaking. 66 manchester, lower 60's at the coast. reason why the coast was warm today, the wind direction, that's key for the next few days. right now it's off shore. over the next couple days it kicks on shore and that means much cooler at the coastal routes. that means portsmouth, rochester points south will be much cooler than inland sections. overnight low tonights, mid to upper 30's up north. on average upper 30's and lower 40's for many. a lot of warm air off to our

out over the next couple days. temperatures may dip a few notches tomorrow, rise a built more on thursday, and then on friday right become to where we were today with enough sun we could even be a couple of degrees warmer. but much cooler air sitting in the plains states, and notice by saturday night into sunday that drifts right overhead bringing temperatures right back to average for this time of year. but again we don't have any storms to speak of at least for the next knew days, so next shower chance not until later friday evening or later friday night. a little fog early tomorrow, a lot sunshine develops, and more of the same on thursday. a slightly better shot that we dawn with a bit of fog before the sun makeses in with late day clouds, again that's on thursday. that shot of showers again not until later on friday. highs tomorrow, a little lower than today. especially at the coast. notice only lower 60's, due to an on shore breeze. mid 60's inland and it will be

list july 11. the annual baseball dinner approaching, november 21 at the radisson in manchester, joining chris carpenter, a cast of players including jackie bradley, current blue jay chris, and it benefits chad and the museum. >> it's a great night, it's a fun night to get together and talk about baseball, be involved in great conversation about baseball and be around some great baseball people. and again, raising some great money for some awesome charities and taking care of kids and all that stuff. so, again, it's a really fun night. >> high school football playoffs, newport is 8-0 in d3, one of two unbeaten teams in their division along with winnesquam. the tigers will host fourth seeded somersworth from the south conference on saturday. in six of their eight regular season games the tigers held their opponents to eight points or less, they average almost 42

points per game on offense, this is a whole new season and the tigers know it. >> every week we've got to execute. where where we are and people know that, we run the quick draw and we run our fullback and we just need to execute and play good defense. if we do those things well, then usually good things happen. >> i think we've had a lot of young guys step up to the plate. we've had some positions coming in that we had to fill, and they did a pretty good job stepping in. so it's been crucial in our success. >> high school football power poll, after the regular season. three teams tied for 10th, that weans we have 12 teams in the poll, i'm not sure we've ever had that before.
