deb: good morning, kevin. we are just getting word of a crash on 93 southbound up in the meredith area south of exit 23 at mile marker 66.6. the left lane is closed. if you are commuting in that area, give yourself extra time. once you do get through that, it looks ok as you make your way to the concord area down through the hooksett tolls and then from manchester to salem. the everett turnpike looks good from the bedford tolls. if you are commuting into the massachusetts area, 93 south is already slow in the andover area right around 495. this report is being brought to kia of nashua. i' m deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. erin: we are following breaking news from branch unaware police are looking for a teenager missing -- we are following breaking news -- police are looking for a missing teenager.

16-year-old julian hofstetter has not been seen since 8:00 last night. he is six feet tall, weighs 200 pounds, and has brown hair. he was last seen on foot, wearing a blue coat. sean: developing out of central maine, a man shot and killed two women and a man inside the home they shared before going outside and killing himself last night. the scene in the town of oakland, maine remains active. police have not commented on a possible motive, but say a four-year-old girl was inside at home and was not hurt. she is now staying with family members. senator kelly ayotte is up for reelection next year and it seems more and more likely that she will face a challenge from within her own party. erin: conservatives met in concord to discuss the primary last night. that is where we find ray brewer. ray: this is not a new effort, but it does appear to beginning momentum. top liberty conservatives

night near the state house to talk about replacing senator ayotte with someone even more conservative. the meeting ended without choosing a challenger, though former house speaker bill o' brien' s name has been floated and he was at the meeting last night. many who attended say they are upset with her recent vote on the budget and her support of an energy plan from the white house. >> she has been drinking the kool-aid and she has been liking tricking the kool-aid in washington and that is a problem. it is a problem for the people who fought for her and worked for her and knocked on doors for her. she is now turning her back on them. ray: former new hampshire gop chairman jack kimball says the key is to ensure the movement gets behind a single candidate so support is not split. senator ayotte responded by telling news 9, "new hampshire comes first for me and i' m focused on doing my job serving the people of new hampshire and

continuing to deliver results for them." reporting live, ray brewer. sean: with governor maggie hassan also running for senator ayotte' s seats, the race to replace her in the corner office is growing. mark connolly will officially launches campaign later today in manchester. the 60-year-old newcastle democrat has worked in the private sector as a financial advisor and served in the government as a deputy secretary of a and the head of the bureau of securities regulation. he says his top priorities are jobs and the economy. he wants more transparency and less partisanship. mark connolly: i' m a democrat, but we are from new hampshire first, so i' m hoping to attract independents and some republicans and i' m going to be a pragmatic voice for all new hampshire. sean: he is pledging that if he wins he will not run for any higher office. he says like john lynch, he has

no interest in going to washington. he is the second democrat in the race. state house majority leader jack flanagan has stepped down from his duties effective immediately. he recently formed an exploratory committee to running -- investigate running for congress for the seat held by annie kuster. erin: the small airplane registered to a man from rye has crashed off the coast of queens, new york and the coast guard says they have recovered a body. the beechcraft plane crashed about 8:00 last night in mile and a half from breezy point part ways through a scheduled flight from philly to portsmouth. the plane is registered to james mcgee of rye, but it is not clear if he was on board or why the plane went down. the faa says no distress call was ever made. sean: bedford police are looking for two people caught on camera vandalizing two cars parked at

chris christie is attending events in nashua and somersworth. sean: several new hampshire democrats are pleading for more debates between the democratic presidential candidates. currently, the dnc has approved six debates and ahead of the dnc says no more will be added. some feel the committee is overstepping its authority. >> the people ought to show. we are the people and we are the residence of new hampshire and we happen to feel that more debates are essential and an integral part of the process. sean: so far, the republican candidates have taken part in three debates and another is set for next week. erin: the search continues for a person who shot and killed a manchester man outside his apartment on tuesday night. police were called to 472 granite street after residents reported hearing gunshots. police identified the victim is 37-year-old michael pittman.

he lived at the apartment with his wife, 2-year-old daughter, and 13-year-old stepdaughter. police do not believe the shooting was random. anyone with information is urged to call the manchester police department. sean: the 16-year-old hunter helped rescue a man injured in an atv accident. the 66-year-old was riding on his atv when it rolled over. the 16-year-old hunter heard the man yelling for help and call 911 immediately. the man was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. erin: a litchfield man was captured this week in manchester. 24-year-old joseph staph was arrested during a traffic stop on monday night. he was wanted as a fugitive from justice for failing to appear in court in massachusetts last month. he was originally charged in the baystate with two counts of breaking and entering. sean: a lancaster business owner

charges -- to prison time. daniel fournier solicited 13 customers to refinance their auto loans and then kept the proceeds without paying the original loans. those customers ended up with two loans on the same vehicle. erin: the executive council has voted to approve governor maggie hassan' s request to reconvene the legislature for a special session focused on addressing the heroin crisis. she says the state cannot wait until january to address the epidemic, arguing that the issue merits single-minded focus on bipartisan action. the council approved the governor' s request, but not without criticism. >> we have had in action, in action, in action and now the governor' s office is saying hurry up, hurry up. >> i' m pleased we continue to

highs today, 60' s to lower reaches of the 70' s this afternoon. we are looking at a big change starting tomorrow with a front moving in. we will have the details coming up. erin: we are following breaking news out of berlin. right now, firefighters around the scene of a fire that displaced seven people. sean: the fire was reported shortly after 5:00 in berlin. it took nearly an hour to get the fire under control, but officials say they were able to contain the flames. no injuries have been reported and it is not clear what sparked the flames. erin: we are also following a developing story out of maine. police say four people are dead after an overnight shooting in oakland. sean: maine state police say the shooting happened around 8:00 last night. they have identified the gunman as herman durico. they believe he shot three people and then turned the gun on himself. a four-year-old girl was inside the home at the time,

but she was not hurt. the investigation continues in a bizarre case in illinois. erin: a veteran police officer staged a scene to make it appear he was shot and killed when he actually committed suicide. it all began when lieutenant charles gliniewicz radioed in saying he was in pursuit of three suspicious man. minutes later, police found the officer dead. hundreds of officers from across the country attended his funeral believing he had been murdered, but on wednesday, investigators revealed he staged his own suicide. >> lieutenant charles gliniewicz committed the ultimate betrayal to the citizens he served and the entire law enforcement community. erin: investigators say he was about to be exposed as a thief for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a youth program run by the police department. sean: some diners in florida got burglar crashed right through the restaurant ceiling.

phone with 911 dispatch, the guy falls through the ceiling on a patron. unbelievable. sean: feast your eyes. the whole thing was caught on surveillance video. the attempted burglar cut a hole in the bathroom ceiling and was try to crawl to the office where the safe was located when he fell through and landed in the dining room. diners were able to hold him until police arrived. erin: police in rutland for mont say someone used -- rutland, vermont say someone used a credit union. members of a rescue team saw someone using a tractor to ram yesterday morning. >> at first, you would assume it was a drunk farmer or something. i was scrolling through facebook and i read the article and i it. erin: for the credit union, this was no laughing matter. it took the entire day to repair

once the cooler air rotates through the northeast sometime sunday, we start to warm up again. your forecast today, we start off in the 30' s and a lot of areas and we get back into the 60' s and 70' s. maybe a 72 or 73. you will notice, in the extended forecast, it lasts through tomorrow and then a front comes through with a chance for a shower or two and then we start to cool off behind that system. 50' s for highs. still a little bit of a northerly breeze for sunday, but it will be with full sunshine at highs only in the 40' s. from there, we start to warm up early next week. temperatures should be back in the lower and mid 50' s on monday. a lot of sunshine on wednesday. thursday. a huge thank you to atkinson academy which hosted me for a talk to the fourth-graders and the atkinson garden club. we talked about all things
