andy: things have wrapped up for the day in this neighborhood and we' re told it' s unlikely the search will stretch into tomorrow. officials say this is just another step in their investigation into the murder of denise robert. they searched on roofs and they dug into the ground looking for clues in the murder of denise robert. members of the fbi fanned out across this neighborhood were the 62-year-old woman was shot and killed while taking a walk two months ago. >> a think it' s good that they' re doing something about it and not letting it go, because it' s not right. >> i think it' s good that they are continuing the investigation and trying to get it solved so anyting i can do i' d be more than happy to help and i' m sure the neighbors feel the same way. andy officials say this is just : the most recent step in their ongoing investigation and that they' re not responding to any particular tip or specific piece of information. they are simply looking for any evidence that can help.

tom: new information tonight in a deadly shooting in manchester. the attorney general' s office says that michael pittman died of a gunshot wound to the torso. he was shot tuesday night outside his granite street apartment. investigators are calling his death a homicide and say the shooting is not random. and they are still searching for the suspect. jennifer a small plane bound for : new hampshire' s seacoast crashed last night. the plane was registered to a rye man and investigators say they have recovered a body at the scene. wmur' s shelley walcott is live with more on the investigation. shelley investigators have not : yet released the name of the person who died after that small plane crash in new york. as you mentioned, the plane was registered to a man from rye. but no distress call was made shortly before it crashed into the ocean. by air and by sea today. the nypd resumed the search for wreckage, after a small plane crash off the coast of breezy point queens. the two seater, beechcraft plane crashed around 8:00 wednesday night. it took off from philadelphia and was headed to portsmouth.

the plane is registered to james mcgee of rye. it is not clear if he was actually on board. the faa says no distress call was ever made. but witnesses say it was clear the pilot was in trouble. you usually don' t fly that low. and you usually go straight you don' t fly over breezy point. shelley: john norton was on the s low altitude. other people reported hearing something strange in the air. >> it sounded like something in distress. a sort of rumbling. but we didn' t know what it was. shelley: according to flight tracking websites, the plane was headed here. the nypd launched a massive search and rescue effort. the tale was located and eventually a body was recovered.
