then somebody struck again damaging their vehicles three times in one week. now they are trying to raise the money to pay for the damage. last wednesday somebody put dog feces. the next morning it was spray painted. on friday they got a rental car. the next morning it was tagged and sugar put in the tank. they have no idea why someone would do this. >> we know they are targeting us. >> this isn't happening to anyone else? >> when we get our other car back, we're going to have to park it somewhere. are they going to find it and do it again? ray: barry is a veteran. they had to cancel celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary

live in derry, ray brewer. erin: all right. thank you. manchester police are looking for the masked man that robbed the mobil station last night. a man wearing a hoody, mask, and baseball hat walked in. the man gestured like he had a weapon, but one wasn't shown. the man was last seen driving away in a newer car with silver rims. sean: a frightening case of road rage was caught on camera. the damage in a car behind the incident saturday shot this video on a cell phone. you can see the driver of a green sedan tailgate, pass it, pull in front, lose control and hit the guardrail. state police say the driver fled but was arrested down the road. that person is charged with reckless driving. a man accused of crashing into two cars while driving a car stolen from his brother and hiding in a home on north road is due in court today.

resign. andrew spencer, wmur news 9. sean: two more presidential hopefuls will file today for the new hampshire primary ballot. hillary clinton and jim gilmore. during an interview with news 9 at 5:00, gilmore says he plans to focus his campaign on the granite state. >> this is the place where ideas can get out there. people are receptive to the experience and approach that i have. my focus is new hampshire. i have been here 14 times. this year. i will be here much, much,-because i want to win the new hampshire primary. sean: s.p.o.t.ars hit the campaign trail. the arkansas travelers came in 1992 to support bill clinton. they are credited with helping him get past the gennifer flowers scannal. >> they are just regular people coming out here

a sinkhole. they aren't sure why the ground gaveway. the gash in the ihop parking lot is 15 feet deep, 35 feet wide, and 400 feet long. four people are dead after a church van slammed into a church and burst into flames. one child in the van was killed, six others hurt, all ten years or younger. the car crossed into oncoming traffic. it is one of the worst scenes they have ever seen. erin: james bond is shaking things up at the box office. "spectre" took the top spot. the second best opening ever for a bond movie. "peanuts" debuted in second with a strong showing. with veterans day this week, the state attorney general is urging you to do your research before donating

the attorney general and the national guard say that some organizations have very high fundraising costs, meaning that very little of your donation will actually be used to help veterans. read up on groups first so you know where your money is going. the city of keene has installed two new charging stations for electric vehicles thanks to a state grant. the stations, similar to these, are at the commercial street parking lot in downtown. they require a parking fee of $1.49. more and more people in the area are driving electric vehicles, creating a growing need for charging stations. sean: federal regulators have launched a new push to get seat belts for every seat on every school bus in the country. they admit the effort will be expensive. it would save lives. right now only six states require a seat belt on school buses. an average of five people die in the u.s. each year in school bus crashes.

implemented. 50 years ago today the lights went out for tens of millions of people across the northeast, including new hampshire. a power failure started at a canadian station and spread on the evening of november 9, 1965, leaving 30 million people in the dark. in new york city, hundreds of thousands of people were trapped on the subway. the outage is blamed on human error. the power was restoried hours. many people remember it from the 1960's and have stories about it. eating by candlelight. kevin: if you had power, watching news coverage of something like that unfold today would be just unreal, wouldn't it? sean: generators kick in. kevin: you'd have to think. we start off with looks outside. we have clear skies in the central and southern areas. temperatures have drifted back into the 20's to lower range of

the 30's. you'll look ahead through the day today. most areas will be in the 50's out there this afternoon. even the clouds that we have up north should give way. a much lighter wind through the afternoon out of the southwest today only around five-ten miles an hour. there are two systems we're tracking which will promise the chance of scattered shower activity. there's the extra clouds up north this morning. i think with a light wind and a good deal of sunshine, that should burn off to partial sunshine. two systems, one out through the rockies that arrives thursday. this one here and the north western fringe scrape across new england later tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. temperatures are in the 20's to mid 30's this morning. colder start to the day. again with light winds. we're running between ten to 15 to 17 degrees colder than yesterday at this time. that's the last of the colder air. we're not looking at a significant warm up this week. we're looking at the warmest temperatures.

highs in the 50's to near 60 out there today. then starting to slip back low to mid 50's tomorrow. thereafter. today like lick will be the brightest of the days as we go from sunshine to high clouds. night into wednesday the chance of a couple of scattered showers. clear skies out there for us today. the light wind really we'll see temperatures slip back. cold. degrees warmer by tomorrow morning. we'll go from the mid 20's to upper 30's. good deal of sunshine around through a good part of the day tomorrow. you'll notice the clouds starting to drift in later in the day. the shower chances holding off. we're going to see some shower activity. it is going to likely be later tomorrow evening and early on wednesday. quite a few more clouds around. maybe a shower early in the day. then in the afternoon more clouds and sunshine. a brief break in the activity and a warm front approaches on thursday.

there will be shower activity with that. then we get back into the cooler air by the time we get toward friday. highs today well into the 50's in the southern half of the state. sunshine and a light wind will allow temperatures again to drift back into the 20's up north and 30's elsewhere. again the two systems we're tracking one will be with an increase in clouds later tomorrow afternoon with a few showers tomorrow night and early on wednesday. then the next system arriving for thursday afternoon and thursday evening which could wrap up as a quick passing shower friday morning. could be a couple of mixed showers up north friday afternoon or friday night. you can see temperatures really not getting much of the boost after this. these numbers starting tomorrow and continuing through next weekend. pretty close to the averages for this time of year. no heavy rain coming with either of the systems. just a couple of showers. sean: the one day a week you get 70 degrees. kevin: yeah, we're heading back closer to the averages now.

>> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now wmur "news 9 daybreak." erin: we hope you had a great weekend. it is monday, november 9th. as we look out on to the seacoast, we're seeing temperatures in the 30's. it is chilly out there today. sean: making them see red literally there. kevin will talk about weather in a moment. first the top stories. an investigation is underway into a vandalism spree in derry. one couple's vehicles have been targeted three times in one week. state police are trying to determine what caused a serious crash on i-93 in salem that left three people with life threatening injuries. and officials in manchester will be recounting the votes today in the city's mayoral election in

sean: there were three incidents in one week. now the couple says they are struggling to pay for all of the damage. ray brewer live in derry with the details. ray: sean, the couples son-in-law has set up a go fund me page. at first they thought it was a prank. now they are concerned it won't spot. for the past seven year, they have parked their van in the same assigned spot. now they have no idea why someone would vandalize it three times within a week. >> we haven't been sleeping good. we're worried about what's going on out here. : last wednesday someone put dog feces on their van. the next morning they found it was spray painted. >> you would think maybe they got it out of their system. ray: the vandals didn't stop there. on friday the family got a rental car. the next morning it was tagged with spray paint

injuries. that accident happened about 5:30 yesterday morning north of the massachusetts state line. police say an suv crashed through a guardrail and then rolled over several times before landing on to its roof and some trees. crews arrived after people living nearby dialed 911 says they could see headlights in the woods. the car was upsidedown and suspended in the air by trees. three people were trapped inside. one firefighter says this was one of the most difficult rescues he's ever faced. >> more than three quarters of the vehicle was in the air leaning against trees. we had to stabilize the vehicle. it was upsidedown with heavy intrusion on the roof being pushed up area. erin: firefighters had to use out. two people were flown to the boston hospital and the third was taken to boston hospital by ambulance. condition. sean: a man accused of hitting a

d.c. today. erin: the two leaders are planning to discuss the ongoing conflict between israel and path stun. this will be the first time in more than a year that the president has talked face to face with netanyahu. the meeting comes as tensions continue to screen ties. >> is this a real gun or fake gun? sean: marty walsh is expected to sign an ordinance that will ban fake firearms. erin: a new report shows that climate change could push more than 100 million people into extreme poverty by the year 2030. the report says the poverty level could spike due to climate change disrupting

of the southwest through the afternoon. temperatures today to go into the mid to upper 50's. lower and mid 50's up north. really no problems for you as you head out this morning. maybe just chisel off the wind shield. temperatures in the 50's today. clear skies tonight. we're going to go from sunshine to high clouds tomorrow with the next system eventually trying to arrive later tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. a few showers and maybe the next system sometime on thursday. again a few extra clouds up in the north country. we have the clear skies. area of high pressure in control of the weather through tomorrow morning. then we get into tomorrow afternoon and some of the clouds start to approach. the system should stay mostly off shore. it will skim central and northern parts of new england with a few showers. back. a lot of areas into the 20's this morning. lower 30's. the closer you get to the shoreline, upper 20's and lower 30's. a lot of the elevation dependent with the clear skies out there in most

locations. you get up anywhere north of the white mountains and a few extra clouds there keeping temperatures up in the lower and mid 20's to near 30 degrees early on. it is a chilly start to the day. through the afternoon, we get back into the 50's. a couple of southern spots trying to approach 60. an on shore breeze after 2:00 at the coastline. temperatures ranging from 54 to 58 across a good part of the state into the day today. up in the north country, it looks like lower and mid 50's with a few extra clouds early this morning giving way to sunshine into the afternoon. that likely keeps us clear later on this evening with temperatures easing back. probably not as chilly as what we've been seeing. there should be clearer skies up north. mid to upper 30's for southern areas. sunshine to start the day tomorrow. a few high clouds in the afternoon. those will only thicken up as we go through tomorrow evening. a couple of showers around even to start the day on veterans day on wednesday.

the lion share of the rainfall stays to the southeast. the next system on thursday afternoon and thursday night. looks like a good shower chance with that. two systems to track. mostly just some scattered shower activity. today will be the brightest and warmest of the day. temperatures starting the day in the 20's and 30's. highs up into the 50's. you'll notice the temperatures start to slip back. along with it, we're going to have quite a few more clouds around. last week a very sunny week out there for us. this week will be quite a bit different. we'll have a couple of sunny breaks wednesday afternoon. then the next system approaches thursday and by early friday we should have that system starting to pull away which could set up good timing into the weekend. temperatures much closer to thages which is either side of 50. what? no puzzles done? sean: we did them and put them back in the box. erin: 1980's puzzle.

put up your holiday lights? kevin: i did a couple. sean: slow, steady progress. erin: you should apply. they are hiring a christmas light untangler. the worker is going to be responsible for untangling the christmas lights. according to the job posting, it has a competitive salary but it also requires some skill. candidates must be able to untangle ten feet of christmas lights in while checking the strands for broken kevin? sean: is that under the category you couldn't pay me enough dot dot dot. erin: it is not a fun job to do. speaks of jobs, we're speaking a slide show of the countries that work the longest hours. sean: mexico tops the longest list. people in the country work an average of 42.8 hours a week.
