much rain all summer and into the fall, and concord has gone 11 days without any rain whatsoever, that's pretty much the spire month of november so far. we have seen zero inches of rain, nothing just yet. however, that is about to change. mike will tell you about that in a moment. when is the last time we saw rain? october 28 and 29. it was a sizable dousing of rain, but it was so quick that a lot of it ran off and didn't really accumulate as much as you hoped it would. here's a look at the map, where is it the worst, clearly southeastern new hampshire. basically from just north of rochester down through concord, manchester, nashua and points eastward, that moderate drought is the worst. how much of the state does that include? 14.88% is in a moderate drought, 8.7 abnormally dry, and good news is 76% of the state is not in a drought right now. that means the estimated population affected over half a million though because that part of the state is certainly one of the most heavily populated.
6:17 pm
that much needed rain. rain to the rescue, mike, is it on the way? mike: it certainly is, like that graphic there. get out of the way of those big drops you put on there. time lapse in portsmouth today, a lot of sunshine to start, a lot of sunshine to finish. squeezed in between all that, temperatures bounced up nicely from chilly morning lows today in the 20's and low 30's back into the 50's. but right now clear skies and very light winds, even though they're out of the south, that's allowing temperatures to fall off quite a bit. so down near freezing in the great north woods. on average it's lower to mid 40's from concord and the lakes region points south. until you get to manchester and towards nashua and the coast, hanging onto around 50 degrees. overnight 20's and 30's. but it will be clear and that means a sunny start to your tuesday. the next system clearly sticking out on the maps is a low pressure area with quite a bit of rain from d.c. points south into the carolinas, more showers valley.
6:18 pm
all of this moving in our direction. so by tomorrow afternoon the clouds will be lower and thicker day. it stays bright all day up north, but it's a different story in southern parts of new england. in terms of rain chances they concord points south. then tomorrow night rain will increase everywhere in the state, with the heaviest likely falling from the white mountains points south. on veterans day we start with some rain, but you notice a back end to this, clearly lifts off the the north and east by midday with a lingering shower or two and plenty of clouds among with gusty winds for the balance of your wednesday. in terms of rainfall amount this is blue shade here indicates anywhere from a half inch to an inch of rain, a slight chance of a few spots could get more. speaking of increasing, winds on the light side through midday tomorrow. then notice as we advance through the afternoon, they begin to crank up a little bit out of the northeast. we could see some gusts, especially at the coast, up to 30 to 35 miles per hour.
6:19 pm
still quite breezy, and chilly as we go into the day on wednesday, especially the afternoon and early evening. fair skies, patchy fog later be the. it will be chilly as temperatures dip back to the low 20's up north, lower 30's across a good part of southern new hampshire. tomorrow we've got sunshine to start and then the clouds will be on the increase. you'd notice late in the afternoon, especially concord points south, there's a bet of a little rain coming in here, rain will fall everywhere for tuesday night into about midday on veterans day. once we get into the afternoon, it will still be breezy, but the skies could brighten a little bit. especially in areas to the north and west. then on thursday here comes the next system. a little bit of partial sun in the morning, cloud take over in the afternoon. and we'll likely see some showers arriving during the course of the afternoon hours, into the night. by friday some partial sunshine, saturday mixed showers. that's right. the next disturbance will be accompanied by cooler air, as we go into the start of the weekend.
6:20 pm
so up north could see a little bit of light snow in the mountains by sunday it's bright and chilly. not too bad early next week. but you notice the 70's are gone. temperatures right at the average a good part of this week. tom: still no sign of snow. mike: nothing big just yet. >> saw some showers on saturday, that will be interesting, we're at the state semifinal stage of

jason: son: for only the second time in franchise history the patriots are 8-0, but with win number 8 came at a cost. runningback deon lewis is out for the rest of the season with a torn acl. lewis injured his left knee on a screen pass late in the third quarter of yesterday's game against the redskins. he was making a cut in open out. he collapsed in obvious pain. lewis has been a huge part of new england's running and passing game, quickly becoming one of tom brady's favorite targets out of the back field. brandon bowland will likely fill the role moving forward. u.n.h. senior quarterback sean goldrich has been named the caa's offensive player of the week. goldrich completed 21 of 36 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns while not committing a turnover, leading unt to a 30-25 upset win over rich month on saturday. goldrich also ran for a score in
