more than 60 people turned out last night to offer their thoughts. the redevelopment would restore the historic dix house and renovate the golf course. it would also expand the balsams wilderness ski area to 2200 acres, making it the largest in the northeast. >> that gives us a really tight window to get the work started as soon as we can in the spring, build all the way through the summer, build right through the fall, and hopefully have a part of the resort open next season, the 2016-2017 season. ray: the next meeting to consider approval for the project is scheduled for december 2. ray brewer, wmur. sean: thanks. police are investigating a care of strong-arm robberies in downtown laconia.

near bisson went to men approached around 7:00 and demanded her purse. they took off in a maroon car. a couple hours later, two people also wearing bandannas demanded his wallet. erin: police in boston are warning about a growing online for love. it is called a catfishing scheme. robbers are setting up fake online dating profiles, arranging meetings, and pulling a gun on unsuspecting dates and robbing them. it has happened at least six times in the last five weeks in boston. >> there are a lot of old herbal people out there -- vulnerable people dying for a relationship and they throw all caution to the wind that they just don' think twice. erin: police have not said what dating services or apps have

people to meet dates it a public place. sean: open enrollment for health care has been overhauled a new hampshire. covering new hampshire allows granite staters to compare plans side-by-side and you can also compare dental plans and there are features aimed at all business owners -- small business owners. erin: sorting through all the options can be really confusing and medical costs are one of the biggest expenses many americans face. many people don' t know how much care actually costs until the bills show up in the mail. rebecca jarvis explains ways to avoid sticker shock. >> there is almost no worse feeling. an unexpected bill. costs you cannot afford. it can be overwhelming. >> about a third of americans

out -- label -- lightbulb in a window or outside their home to show their support for veterans. a family in hooksett is going the extra mile. >> we went out to look for a little lightbulb and dad said, we don' t need a light bowl, we need to change the whole house so planes flying overhead can see this. sean: take a look. that is the result. they say they plan to keep the green light shining for a while. millions of people have already signed on to join the effort. erin: there is no protection for a key member of the wolfeboro police department. k-9 riggs received a bullet and stab protective vest yesterday. it was donated by the nonprofit group vested interest in k-9s. it is embroidered with the message "be safe as you go into service." k-9 vests cost between $1700 and $2200 each.

governor hassan will help kick off the annual salvation army red kettle campaign today. they will be out until christmas eve. last year, donations helped provide assistance to more than 52,000 people in new hampshire. it is always interesting to see what they find in those kettles. sean: sometimes, jewelry, right? right now, it is 6:12. do you want to prove your -- improve your writing skills? there is a website for that and you might learn something about yourself in the process.

with over an inch of rain. we will look for more showers this afternoon and this evening with the next system riding in. it will be a fairly quick mover with showers from noon to about midnight. we do have low clouds and fog in place that could slow you down this morning. thicker cloud cover making its way in. no hope of much sunshine, except for in the north country this morning. new to about midnight is the timeline for the storm system this afternoon. tomorrow, temperatures will pull s. low and mid 40' s out there this morning. very close to where we were yesterday at this time. temperatures this afternoon doing about the same kind of thing despite the precipitation chances in the afternoon and into the evening. looking at high temperatures in

upper 40' s to maybe some spots near 50. closer to the shoreline. the wind eventually, after the the west. that will start to pick up tomorrow and could gust over 15-20 miles per hour out of the direction. the expectation is that there could be a wet evening commute in the area and by midnight, the chance of showers -- notice how quickly the clearing occurs behind that. the could be a shower up north at any point. we will have lingering clouds up there. it should be just cold enough as we work our way through friday evening that any lingering rain showers may start to go over to mixed showers or somewhat snow. this is white mountains

elevation. as you will notice, away from the mountains, we will have nothing but fair skies and cooler evenings. highs in the 40' s to lower ranges of the 50' s. starting monday, we started little bit of a warm-up through the middle of next week. high temperatures today within a few degrees of 50. low clouds and fog early this morning giving way to showers this afternoon. partial clearing with a little bit of patchy fog toward the morning. that eventually sets up a good areas of the state tomorrow. the further north you go, quite a few clouds and the risk of lingering rain shower. a little bit of wet snow to start the day on saturday in the north country. we should be drive to the middle of next week. on monday, we start warming up again. sean: this is good. i still have leaves to rake.

erin: the owners say if the redevelopment project is approved soon, the resort could be open by the end of next year. studio with a look at what colebrook last night. ray: more than 60 people turned out to give their comments on the balsams redevelopment plan. the sentiment echoed over and over -- start building and soon. >> how many of you folks want to see this project now? >> now! ray: county commissioners and delegates last week unanimously approved three zoning amendments for the proposed balsams resort redevelopment project. one of the changes allows them to create a special resort project. >> it is creating a mechanism that allows the board to do that review of a much larger scale project. ray: at a public hearing on wednesday, the only neighbor -- negative feedback is that the project is not starting soon enough.

terminally ill woman suffering from stage four lung cancer. last week, she filed a lawsuit to obtain a medical marijuana id card that would allow her to legally get medical marijuana in maine. dhhs will not issue an id card until new hampshire' s dispensaries are open. a hearing is scheduled for this morning. erin: a sex assault victim is speaking out. the man convicted of assaulting her repeatedly is fighting to get his name off the sex offender registry. he pleaded guilty back in 1987. he made the request to have his after the state supreme court s law requiring certain offenders to unconstitutional.

we start off with the clouds and more showers in the forecast for the afternoon and into the evening. temperatures will stay in the 40' s to lower ranges of the 50' s. we eventually set up an overcast sky with showers pushing in in the afternoon. there is the cloud cover making its way in. lunchtime in southwestern areas. behind this will be a westerly wind which will dry us out tomorrow, except in the north country. the wind will turn more northwesterly as the system starts to pull away later tomorrow night and that will bring in the cooler air. temperatures this morning a very close to where we were yesterday. highs are very close to where we were yesterday afternoon.

and southeast. that means a little bit breezy ier close to the shoreline. some of the higher hilltops may be over 20 miles per hour. the best chance of showers this afternoon and into this evening before pulling away overnight tonight area the better chances for showers are going to be during the afternoon and this evening. a quarter to a half-inch of rain quickly. 30' s to start the day tomorrow. from there, a good deal of areas. then, as the wind turns you will notice that it is not all in rain shower form. tomorrow night and very early on

saturday morning, we could have a light snow cover in a couple of spots. central and southern areas, there may be a straight mixed shower -- stray mixed shower. we will have some lingering clouds of north and full sunshine on sunday. later on tonight, after the chance of showers finishes off by midnight, the breeze turns to the west and that drives us out to partial sunshine tomorrow. temperatures will be up into the 50' s about statewide. we don' t get back into the 50' s until monday. a pretty good breeze each day, as well. the warming trend continues through wednesday of next week. erin: but cooler for the weekend. kevin: it looks that way. but you and get your outdoor activities in.
