death of eve tarmey. rochester students and staff say something needs to change. >> it' s hard for the students because it impacts them a lot, you know what i mean? >> on october 17. 17-year-old eve tarmey was found dead of a drug overdose at the riviera motel in rochester. her classmate. 16-year-old emily benson says spaulding high school students are mourning her death. >> there' s definitely been a lot of mourning, a lot of people are getting more serious about drug addictions at our school. >> three people were arrested and accused of contributing to eve' s death including her mother 41-year-old jazzmyn rood. rood was charged with conspiracy to possess a controlled drug, reckless conduct and endangering the welfare of a child. >> the fact that it is the mother of the victim makes it even more disturbing to me. >> investigators say eve was staying at the motel with rood and her mom' s boyfriend 41-year-old mark ross who is also facing charges. toxicology tests released thursday show eve had ingested a substance thirty times more potent than heroin.

bringing drugs into the northern new hampshire correctional facility. and the prison value of the contraband he as handling, was substantial. police say this is the man who try to bring thousands of dollars worth of drugs into northern new hampshire prison, a facility they say he knows quite well. 49 wrote charles hansen has been employed as a chef at the correctional facility in berlin for 11 years. >> he was arrested and charged with delivery of articles to prisoners. the controlled drugs that he brought inside at a prison value of more than $67,000. >> department of corrections spokesman jeff lyons says the investigation into hanson, started some time ago. >> the department of corrections received information some months ago that this may be going on. we immediately opened an investigation, and the new hampshire state police and the department of corrections worked jointly to resolve this and make the announcement that is being made today and we'

according to a complaint filed in federal court, he often engaged in the online chats while on duty including while at the white house. tom: this summer a sunday evening stroll in the north end of manchester ended with a 62-year-old woman dead. her killer is still on the loose and unidentified. the murder of denise robert has left a neighborhood shaken, investigators frustrated, and her family asking why. wmur' s amy coveno reports on an unsolved mystery with very few clues. >> i remember that day very well. august 30. 8:50 p.m. a long time newspaper advertising employee enjoying a stroll on ray street. it had been her custom for the past six years or so, according to her family. >> we heard the shot. >> erin kerwin has lived on this bucolic street for nearly 13 years, raising her children here because of the closely knit sense of community.

>> having this happen right outside our door brought gun violence home. t think twice >> it wasn' t until i saw police cars coming down the street that i ran out and saw denise laying on the ground. >> denise robert, 62-years-old, a well known ad executive for the union leader. the eldest of 12 children, raised right around the corner from where she was killed. her brother tom was the first boy, third in line and spokesperson for the family. the nightmare started for them at 3:00 in the morning. >> all of a sudden i heard a knock on my back door. i looked out and there were two policemen and a woman. they asked if they could come in i said no. they told me through the door what had happened. i said well maybe you should come in then. >> the probing questions began right away, reaching all they way back to denise'

years. investigators told the family -- >> murders essentially occur between people who know each other. they' re just not random. police said that in the 3 hours >>police said that in the 3 hours before the shooting, robert was at the executive health and sports center in manchester and went shopping at vitamin shoppe, walmart and hannaford. a pick up truck was spotted on ray street around the time of the shooting. police said the truck turned on union street, speeding back toward the city. the driver was described as a white man in his 20' s or 30' s with close-cropped hair wearing a white tank top. >> the denise robert homicide given the passage of time of a put stress on the city it' s put stress on the family. the neighborhood. >> a memorial on ray street remains. memory while the unnerving mystery of her murder lingers in october a tree was planted at the brookside congregational church nearby. denise' s family gathered for a

marker giving permenance to a life well lived. she never married and was living in bedford with her mother who s. two were close. >> denise did her own thing. she was her own person. she lived her life in her own way. t cold but >>the trail isn' t cold but investigators say they need more and last week fbi agents used metal detectors in a one block radius from the murder trying to uncover new evidence. >> we' ve been partnering with the fbi pretty much from the beginning because we have a pretty robust relationship with the fbi. we decided to bring in some of their forensic experts. these folks have specific skills on finding evidence at outdoor scenes. >> the reward fund has grown to over chief willard who spent $42,000. years as a homicide detective in the queen city says the unsolved cases take toll on detectives as well. >> until there'

resolution, that' s all they think about. when they' re on duty they' re working it. when they are off duty they' re thinking about it. when they go to bed at night they' re still thinking about that homicide case. amy coveno, wmur news 9. >>amy coveno, wmur news 9. >> now, the forecast. mike: it started also warm it ended up a little bit cool. now were still in the drizzly, damp side of things. the last of the showers from the system moving through right now. some heavier downforce or parts of the lakes region, good part of the -- southern new hampshire dealing with the rain. eventually it hits the coast and then his al-shabaab out midnight to 12:30. farther to the north -- then

to about sandwich up for the mount washington valley, and all of this will move out in the next hour or so. then we are in the clear for a good part of the night. in the north country of few sprinkles could linger into tomorrow morning. but behind that batch of showers, there are plenty more rain showers developing in the great lakes and it will turn cold enough for a bit of snow to fly back to the west and some of that could move it across new hampshire by about this time tomorrow night. right now we are on the mild side of things. the wind direction is out of the south and southwest. now the visibility is trying to come up a little bit as temperatures climb as well. so it should be a mild start to the day tomorrow, dropping to between 4045 in many parts of the state. then we get into some sunshine to kick off your friday. later in the day scattered

parts of the state, very isolated but a better chance late morning into the afternoon of rain showers up north. then it turns colder again later tomorrow night and early on saturday, so those rain showers changeover to a little bit of snow. we could see maybe one or two inches in the great northwoods woods and the northern part of the white mountains. there' s a slight chance the early part of saturday morning of the snow shower and then it clears out that clears up completely for saturday. then it' s back in the cold zone. 30' southern new hampshire. 10-25 in terms of the wind saturday. and again it will be colder with morning flurries of north and then it will dry out even in the great north woods.

right now monday through wednesday and even a good part of thursday, but very pleasant with temperatures running well above the average of the mid-part of november. with thanksgiving two weeks away , it doesn' t look like the middle of november. we will see what happens. tom: much more coming up in sports. >> some high school football
