[singing in french] sean: now on "daybreak," people here in new hampshire are showing their support sport victims of the deadly terror attacks in paris as french launches attacks against isis militants in syria. erin: a child has died. the state is calling his death suspicious. kevin: a good deal of sunshine. when that starts to change ahead. sean: a frat at dartmouth college has been ordered to stop all activities. this isn't the first time the group has been in trouble.

hampshire like we do. now wmur "news 9 daybreak." erin: good morning to you. thanks for joining us today. i'm erin fehlau. sean: good morning. i'm sean mcdonald. the latest from paris in just a moment. first let's talk weather. yesterday turned out to be a nice day out there. kevin: you have the light winds. any sort of sunshine feels good. looks like again today the sunshine but the breeze picks up. it will go at 10-20 miles an hour into the afternoon. temperatures starting off the day in the 20's and 30's across the region. a few extra clouds up north. we're going to blend in a lot of sunshine. temperatures this afternoon getting anywhere from the upper 50's. lower 40's in parts of coos county. again a good deal of sunshine after early morning fog. much more on the forecast in just a bit. let's look at your morning ride here joined live by deb davidson.

prime minister says there more than 150 police raids. there could be more attacks in the coming days and weeks. marcy gonzalez is in paris. marcy: an international manhunt for his accused terrorists. he lead the team of gunman that opened fire at restaurants and bars here friday night. 129 people were killed in the attacks at six locations across the city of lights. of the one terrorists believed to be responsible, three survived, possibility escaping in the getaway car loaded with assault rifles. two of those suspects taken into custody yesterday in belgium. this morning, one is still on the run. killers connection to isis saying that terror groups commanders in syria planned and directed the violence.

flag will be raised. last night in nashua,s toens of people gathered at a french park to since the french national anthem and show their support for the people of france, especially paris. the name of the park translated to the park of the french renewal. last night more than 100 students gathered on the campus of st. anselm in manchester for a candlelight vigil. >> it is reassuring and warm to the heart to see that people in nashua are gathering and people. the world. >> the care and compassion that we have for those who have been harmed. that's what i've been trying to emphasize. ray: president obama has ordered that all american flags be flown at half staff today in honor of paris. reporting live in nashua, ray brewer, wmur news 9. remember you can always

and developments on the situation in france on our web site at wmur.com also on the mobile app. abc's david muir is in paris. he will report this morning for "good morning america" and also for "world news tonight" he will report from paris this evening. facebooks says the attacks in paris will change how it deploys the safety check feature. the feature allows users in the area to notify friends they are safe. until saturday it had only been activated five times after natural disasters. facebook now says the feature will be used in certain other situations as well. more than four million people used the safety check after the paris attacks. sean: an autopsy is scheduled tomorrow for the body of an 11-month-old boy from alexandria. police were first called to the home on friday after learning that a child had been hurt. he passed away on sunday. investigators spent most

officials are not information. they are calling the child's death suspicious. a rochester man is accused of driving drunk after police say he pulled out in front of an oncoming pickup truck in rochester. 72-year-old robert hoitt is charged with dwi. the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital. erin: the sigma alpha else listen fraternity at dartmouth has been ordered to suspend all activities amid accusations of hazing. they have issued a cease working to figure out what happened. hanover police are also involved with the investigation. the same frat was put on probation a couple of years ago because of hazing allegations. opening statements are set for today in the murder trial of the massachusetts teenager accused of killing his teacher. phil itch chism is

murder earl colleen danvers. chism was 14 years old at the time. he's being tried as an adult. the trial was delayed for three weeks while he underwent a psychological evaluation. sean: still to come, santa's elves are hard at work. the operation is getting support from all over the country. erin: work is underway at the new ski jump thanks to community volunteers. they hope to finish soon. sean: we'll introduce you to one of the most popular new hampshire made wines.

details on when it arrives coming up. erin: christmas is still more than a month away. sean: they hold operation santa 603 gathering food, toil tries, and goodies for servicemens overseas. they packaged everything from cough drops to cookies to provide holiday cheer. >> we cannot thank everybody for their generosity and all of the items they have shipped from all across the country. the people who bring item. it is just we cannot do this without them. sean: big thank you to everybody helping out here. this was the fifth year of operation santa 603. people from all over the country sent donations to help out. erin: they are going to really appreciate those. the new ski jump is starting to take shape. they spent part of the weekend working on the new jump. more than 40 people chipped in to help. the old jump was torn down due to safety

the new structure should be ready to use by thanksgiving, meaning the jumping season will go on. >> we had about 20 contractors that gave up their day to work. an additional maybe 20 other people who had very good construction skills. erin: they were there to help as well. building the new jump will cost ten of thousands of dollars. most of that has been raised. a fundraiser is scheduled for this evening at the flying monkey in plymouth. sarah henrikson is expected to attend. sean: i think it is neat to see what the ski jump looks like as they are building it. 5:14. we'll check out the new building at plymouth that opened over the weekend. erin: the u.s. is a popular destination. not just for tourists.

erin: national weather service officials will tour part of california after a rare tornado touched down yesterday. the twister knocked down tree, powerlines, and ripped apart roofs and miles for nearly a mile. no one was hurt. it was part of a new storm system that's bringing up to a foot of snow to parts of the mountains. at least 25 people are dead and another dozen missing after a landslide buried dozens of homes in eastern china. one person was rescued from the mud and debris. search efforts continue for those still unaccounted for after heavy rains for days. sean: james bond is still top dog at the box office. "spectre" pulled in $35 million over the weekend. bond is dominating movie screens around the world. "the peanuts movie" held on to second place. "the 33" about the chilean minors stumbled

the new hampshire fuel assistance program helps disadvantaged families and seniors heat their homes. the program is opening early this year. to qualify, a family of four cannot earn more than $48,500. the average benefit is expected to be about $650. programs served $35,000 households last year. erin: plymouth state university is the largest on campus. the complex opened over the weekend. it includes a field house, bathrooms, athletic trains facilities, and public meeting spaces. there's 107,000 square feet, and it is state of the art for the energy efficiency and sustainability. it is being heated with two biomass boilers. key ya motors is recalling more than one million kia souls because part of the steering column would

kia says the problem has surfaced in five cars. there have not been any accidents. sean: jetblue is set to unveil the new terminals. they have been working to update terminal c with new interactive kiosks, updated displays boards, and more. the entire project is scheduled to be finished next year. more and more college students are coming from around the world to steady here in the u.s. that's according to the institute of international education. nearly $1 million students came to the u.s. for the 2014-2015 school year up 10% from the year before. nearly a third of them come from china. there's a huge surge of students from india as well. the report says that about $300,000 american students studied abroad. it is not exactly equal. for those students out there, they are waking up with extra blankets. it was cold.

by tomorrow morning. it is always the second night. sean: almost like we're going into winter. kevin: almost. we start with clouds in places once the wind gets going. chilly night ahead for tonight. we're talking upper range of the teens in parts of the north country to lower 30's at the coast. more sunshine around tomorrow. next system doesn't arrive until sometime thursday afternoon or thursday evening. i think ahead of that, fair skies. you'll notice a few extra clouds up north and the occasional overcast for central and southern areas. you'll notice the next system back to the west. just not moving all that fast this morning. you have plenty of time to keep an eye on that and time it out hour by hour. looks like the thursday evening commute looks wet with the rainfall coming town. by friday morning, it should be wrapping up in a lot of locations. temperatures going anywhere from the upper range of the 30's up north, lower 30's where we have the clearer skies, note town to 30 out in keene this morning. the cool spot away from mt. washington.

to the shoreline early on. the breeze today will be out of the west and northwest. it will kick up at times over 15-20 miles an hour. highs in the 40's to lower range of the 50's. we're going to have at the breeze taking an edge off of that. a little warmth here. we'll be around for wednesday and thursday. highs by then in the lower half of the 50's. until then, 40's to lower 50's. next three days we'll have a lot of sunshine around. you can see by the time we get toward mid afternoon, we're talking 40's to lower range of the 50's. by then, the breeze is going 10-20 miles an hour. it lightens up tonight. there will be a lot of 20's. a few lower 30's. likely anywhere between 15 and 20 in the coldest spots up in the north country. from there, 40's for most tomorrow. lighter wind with sunshine and a big area of high pressure in control. then we'll start to add a few high clouds by the time we get to wednesday

morning, 93 south is already slowing down in andover. it is increasing volume as well. this report is being brought to you by peter's honda, nissan, and kia of nashua. from the wzid traffic network, i'm deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. erin: this morning france is stepping up its efforts against isis as the hunt continues for more suspects in the deadly paris attacks, including the alleged master mind. sean: france's prime minister says there were more than 150 police raids overnight and two more suicide bombers involved in the attacks were identified. one is 28-year-old frenchman and the other a 25-year-old with a syrian passport. nikole killion is in the washington bureau with the very latest. nikole: sean and erin, french defense officials say they took out several isis targets in coordination with u.s. forces.

against isis will cause us to remain vigilant. sean: the deadly attacks in paris hit close to home for many granite staters. erin: people across the state have been holding vigils. ray brewer live in nashua. he's live where one of the vigils will held on sunday. ray: that's right. a couple of dozen people gathering at a french park here in nashua to reflect on the tragedy. at st. anselm college, they held a candle light vigil. students still in shock by the brutality of the attacks. through song and prayer, students and staff at st. anselm paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the paris terrorist attacks. >> people appreciate a common celebration to reflect together and turn to god and the higher power. ray: more than 100 students came

living in plymouth to check outdoor sheds and storage spaces. shelter. erin: they are looking for the thief that stole a donation jar full of money. the cash was intended for a 7-year-old girl with disabilities. kira dasner needs a van. on saturday a young women stole the jar, $30. >> i was upset. it is morally just very wrong. how do you steal from one a child and how do you steal from a child with physical needs? erin: the thief is described as skinny, a young woman with darker skin and short brown air. anyone with information is urged to call the keene police department. sean: a serial robber is expected to face a judge. eric d'aoust is accused of holding up three banks.

granite state credit union. the second was the 12th at the td bank. the third robbery happened the following day on south willow street at the td bank. erin: counselors are stepping up calls to build a passenger rail between boston and manchester. they say it is possible to bring the rail in to new hampshire for more than $5 million a year in state money. construction would last 20 years and cost the state a total of $72 million. it could create two rail stops in nashua and manchester. one at airport and one downtown. sean: coming up, a troubling situation in massachusetts. the fbi is trying to track down weapons that were stolen from an army reserve center. erin: in the granite state made, a business that's dedicated to making wine from new hampshire grown fruit. kevin: fair skies ahead of the next system that arrives later this week. the big change that is come after the system

off tonight. the workweek forecast coming up. sean: thanks. the fbi is investigating a break in this wooster, massachusetts. thieves broke into the roof of the building and stole weapons from inside. the break in happened saturday night. at the time, -- at this time, it is not clear how many weapons were stolen. officials say the crime does not appear to be tied to a terror threat. the missing weapons has been entered in the national crime information center. erin: police in maine have arrested the parents of a 3-year-old girl who was spotted wandering alone and naked on a busy road. courtney abbott and kerry ross are charged with child endangerment. drivers saw the child saturday morning walking along route 4 and called 911. the girl and another child, the 18-month-old boy were placed with social services. sean: people in philadelphia got a surprise.

spotted galavanting around a strip mall in the parking lot. one of the zebras was captured two and a half miles away. >> it came around and shot past. it went and shot across. is that a zebra? sean: yeah. a circus spokesman says the zebras were not hurt during the escape. they hope this incident proves that wild animals do not belong in the circus. erin: actor david hasselhoff has made a big announcement. apparently he has changed his name. >> i've been wanting to drop the hassle from my life for years. now i've made it official. david hoff. erin: the name change appeared to be a publicity stunt. a spokesman for the thehoff says it is part of the campaign that launched in australia. he's just having some fun. he is not really legally

sean: it is on the internet. erin: you can't hassle the hoff. sean: he's taken the hassle out of his life. erin: the race at phoenix international raceway. sean: it was called 93 laps due to rain. that denied joey logano and three others a chance to race their way into the finale. dale earnhardt jr. won the race when they pulled the plug. harvick, kyle busch, and jr. will join the finale of the chase for the sprint cup. erin: the patriots scored on their opening drive. so did the giants. eli manning found odell beckham jr. beck hall did the rest. 87 yards for the touchdown. in the first quarter, another injury for the pate cross -- patriots. julian edelman has a

using fruits in new hampshire. >> strawberries, peaches, blueberries. we have to go across the border to get the cranberries from massachusetts. if anybody knows any new hampshire cranberries producers, i would love to know. sean: we caught up with a couple of lady that is traveled from massachusetts to try out the new hampshire-made wine. louis says his best seller is the blueberry wine. for the last three years, it has been the top selling new hampshire wine in the liquor stores. they have won awards in more than 50 competitions, keeping with the dedication to locally grown fruit, they donate 10% of its farmers. you can find sweet baby wine at dozens of stores across the state. for a list or order sweetbabyvineyard.com. there are lots of vineyards. how many awards did it get? erin: i think people don't think

they think about wines. we have, as you mention, tons of vineyards. kevin: it is not just wine. it is fascinating all of the local companies we have here in new hampshire. it allows for these kind of local products. sean: kind of cool. amazing stuff. kevin: we start off with a cloudy sky. through the day today, we'll see temperatures which start the day in the 20's and 30's eventually get back into the afternoon into the 40's to lower range of the 50's. we'll have a breeze out of the northwest today which is going to add a little bit of an extra bite to the air. i think beyond that again good deal of sunshine. as we noted yesterday, sunshine feels good when the winds are lighter. much like saturday when the wind is out there, it certainly adds that little bit of the extra bite. you'll notice we have the fair skies for the next couple of days. the system is slowly moving its way. it doesn't arrive here with any kind of rain earliest sometime late

the freezing mark. still hanging around in the lower 40's closer to the shoreline. some spots down into the upper 20's to lower 30's especially in some of the lower lying valleys away from the breeze that's out there this morning. some of the higher hilltops with the winds moving along, temperatures in the lower range of the 40's. i think the coldest of the mornings will likely be tomorrow morning. there will be a lot of 20's on the maps along with upper teens up in coos county. high temperatures today back into the lower half of the 50's in southern areas and near 50 through the monadnock region. the cloudiness will wither away. the northwest wind continues to dry things out. the atmosphere just considering it is coming out of canada. even in the north country, you start out with patchy clouds, i think partial sunshine into the afternoon with temperatures in the low to mid 40's. tonight we're talking temperatures back into the 20's. some upper teens up north.

and temperatures 40's to near 50 with a much lighter wind. looks like 40's to lower 50's on wednesday. sunshine and winds southerly. then the skies will start to cloud over as we work our way into wednesday night early thursday morning. that's ahead of the next system which at least right now looks like a system. it will be moving and progressing west to east at a good rate which eventually gives us the chance of an inch of rainfall out of it. it should pull to the east friday afternoon and set up what should be some pretty good timing in time for the weekend. temperatures today up into the lower half of the 50's in southern areas. 450's up north. breeze out of the northwest will lighten up later on this afternoon. that sets up mostly clear skies and a chilly night. i think if you are near the freezing mark, you are one of the lucky ones. there will be a lot of 20's and even some teens in parts of the north country. a lighter wind tomorrow. the clouds really start to build in late wednesday night and early thursday. rain chances really
