erin: now on daybreak, it is a busy morning, including a large fire in manchester that has forced several people from their homes. sean: we also have an important reminder from firefighters after a family was rushed to the hospital to be treated for carbon monoxide exposure in nashua, and officials say this could have been tragic. erin: live pictures from paris where at least two people are dead and several under arrest after police in paris tried to raid an apartment building where behind last week' holed up, bringing intense gunfire. kevin: another banner day with sunshine and a light breeze, but that will be changing with the next system. the latest timeline with

>> nolan covers new hampshire -- no one covers new hampshire like we do. erin: good morning, new hampshire. thanks for joining us today. i' m erin fehlau. sean: good morning, i' m sean mcdonald. apparently, that raid that happen in paris while you' re sleeping is over. first, let' s talk about the weather. a very chilly start. kevin: five or six degrees colder than yesterday. while we are in the teens and 20' s, washington with clear skies, warmer air comes in a loft first, they are at 32 degrees with a light wind at around 10 miles per hour. the rest of us, temperatures falling off overnight, in the teens and 20' s in many areas. the system approaching brings rainfall starting later tomorrow afternoon. we jump back into the 40' s to near 50, sunshine, like winds into the afternoon. much more on the forecast in a bit. let' s take a look at gourmet -- wednesday morning ride. for a look at the morning drive here in the granite state, we' re joined live by 95.7 wzid' s deb davidson.

>> cruiser on the scene of a pretty serious crush i-93 in the concord area. the bright lane -- the right lane is lot. authorities are asking you to stay to the left to help ease congestion. 93 south is a good ride from conquered all the way to folks. manchester to salem, 21 minutes. not seeing any delays on 293 or the everett turnpike. 93 south in mass, slow traffic from and over all the way into boston. from the traffic network, i am deb davidson. erin: we' re learning more details about the crash i-93 in concord. state police say a tractor-trailer went off the side of the highway and hit several trees. the cab was torn from the frame of the vehicle.

it trapped the driver inside and ruptured both real tanks. the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but is said to be in stable condition. sean: a developing situation out of manchester where at least six people have been forced from their homes by a large fire on the west side. firefighters were called to the intersection of rimmon and bremmer streets just after 1:00 and found flames shooting from the third floor. crews were later ordered out of the building, and they fought the flames from outside. the red cross is helping the residents who were displaced. there is no word as to any injuries or how the fire started. erin: the weather is finally starting to turn cooler and that , means people are cranking up their furnaces. but that also brings some risks. sean: several people were treated for carbon monoxide exposure in nashua last night and firefighters say the situation could have been a lot worse. wmur' s ray brewer is live in nashua this morning with more on what happened and the warnings

from officials. ray: firefighters say a total of five people were taken to the hospital to be treated for carbon monoxide exposure, and firefighters are blaming a faulty furnace. there -- they are crediting an 11-year-old girl who prevented what could have been a tragedy. firefighters say she called her dad just after 8:00 last night to say something smelled funny and that the people inside the t feeling well. her father told them all to get outside right away and call 911. officials say that likely prevented the tragedy because , when they arrived, they found carbon monoxide levels inside of 150 parts per million, enough to be deadly with enough exposure. it is important to remember that carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, so you may not always smell anything if something is wrong. and emergency officials say everyone should have carbon monoxide detectors as well as smoke detectors on every level of their homes. it' s also an important reminder

to have your furnace serviced frequently. the good news out of all of this, firefighters tell us the five people taken in the hospital are all being treated, expected to make a full recovery. reporting live in nashua, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: these are live pictures from paris were a deadly standoff on the north side of the city has just ended after about seven hours. explosive vest blew herself up as officers tried to storm the mastermind behind last week' s attacks is believed to be holed up. she is one of two people that are now dead. sean: this has been unfolding in the last several hours. people have been arrested. four police officers have also included a hail of gunfire, and there are reports of several explosions.

are your residents were evacuated. investigators have conducted another 100 rates or so overnight. officials say they thought the mastermind had made it back to syria, but they tracked him to the north side of paris him enough are from the soccer stadium where friday' s attack began. while police of the operation is over, the fate of the mastermind is not clear. we will keep an eye on the situation. erin: a driver faces several charges after a crash in pelham last night. police say 39-year-old nathan archambault of dracut, massachusetts, drove over the sidewalk along marsh road and hit a stump, causing his pickup truck to flip twice. both he and a female passenger were taken to area hospitals with serious but non-life threatening injuries. archambault is charged with operating on a revoked license, disobeying an officer, and possession of heroin. sean: state lawmakers will return to concord today for a special session with just one issue on the agenda -- the heroin and opiod crisis in new hampshire. governor hassan called for the special session saying the state simply can' t wait until january to address the problem and that

lawmakers need to be focused on the issue to come up with an effective and bipartisan plan. there is a 26-member committee, including members of both parties from both the house and senate that will work on writing new legislation to fight heroin, fentanyl, and other drugs. in the meantime new hampshire is , getting help in that fight from the federal government. senator kelly ayotte announced yesterday that the dea will implement a so-called strike force to increase coordination between federal, state, and local law enforcement. the move also funds a full time u.s. attorney in new hampshire to focus squarely on the prosecution of drug trafficking. erin: a judge has denied a request from lawyers for nathaniel kibby to recuse lead prosecutor jane young from the case. kibby is accused of kidnapping a teenager from north conway two years ago and holding her captive for eight months. kibby is also accused of making a threat against young from jail. the defense then argued to kibby' s gorham trailer, saying the state did not have probable

cause to take it. the judge has not said when he will rule on more than a dozen other motions. a woman accused of stabbing someone several times in manchester last year, but then going on the run, has finally been caught. u.s. marshals arrested 19-year-old leela cable yesterday at a bus station in fort lauderdale, florida. police say she stabbed someone with a piece of glass in the queen city in june of last year, but then failed to show up for court to face a charge of first degree assault. she is now being held without bail. sean: still to come on news9 daybreak, the race for the white bobby jindal' s campaign is over. erin: a local elementary school student is making a big difference in her community. the number of families she is helping this thanksgiving. sean: and in the next half hour, there are new clues in a cold case out of allenstown. the investigators have a better picture of people found dead you'

never in a million years did they imagine i' d be governor, much less run for president. this wasn' t our time. erin: jindal had focused his campaign on iowa, but his poll numbers never got high enough to get him on the main stage for debates. he says he' ll support the eventual nominee, but he has not yet endorsed anyone. two republican hopefuls are campaigning here in new hampshire today. carly fiorina has stops in henniker and at keene state college. and jeb bush kicks off a two-day visit by attending a house party in bedford. he will file for the primary tomorrow. sean: thanksgiving is next week and several local families in need will have food on the table thanks to a student at indian river school in canaan. 10-year-old kaylee felix collected canned goods and then used her own money to double the items. in all, she put together 30 thanksgiving baskets. local community organizations also chipped in so she could buy turkeys, milk, butter, potatoes and pumpkin pie. , she even drew a picture and included a personal message.

erin: some very valuable toys are going up for auction next month just before the new "star wars" movie opens. sotheby' s is auctioning off a "star wars" toy collection that includes original action figures from still in the original 1977 packaging. one of the action figures, luke skywalker with his lightsaber, is one of only 20 known to exist. remember how you could extend it out of the arm? sean: i was never allowed to play with toys as a child. erin: the most expensive items are two coin sets that were only available by special request from the manufacturer. they' re expected to sell for at least $25,000 each. that stuff is hot these days. here is a new reason to grab your favorite cup of joe this morning -- it could help you live longer. according to a new study led by a doctoral student at harvard, people who drink coffee every day are less likely to die from heart disease, type two diabetes, neurological disease, or suicide than those who don' t.

that even holds true for people who drink up to four cups a day. the study included 250,000 people. sean: get ready for some busy highways next week. aaa is predicting that nearly 47 million americans will travel at least 50 miles for the long thanksgiving weekend, the most since 2007. nearly 90% of those travelers will drive. the good news, gas prices are about $.75 lower than last year and air fare is about the same. so what will most americans eat for thanksgiving? according to a survey by yahoo food, 91% say they will have turkey. no surprise there. that is the most popular part of dinner, followed by stuffing. but a third say they will have ham on the table either with the turkey or as the main course. nearly half say they will serve cranberry sauce out of a can, even though it is one of the least favorite parts of the meal.

authorities are asking you to stay in the center and right lanes to avoid that mess because it will cause huge backups until it can be removed. we have crews on the scene of a very serious crash on 93 north at exit 16 and the concord area. that is involving a tractor-trailer. it is off to the side, but the right lane is blocked. we are not sing any delays on 293 through the mill yard, but taking arena boston, 93 south is very heavy from and over all the way to boston. just getting word of a cre che had exit 41 in the wilmington area. this report is being brought to you by -- i' m deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. sean: thank you. we are learning new details about the tractor-trailer crash on i-93 in concord. it was headed north shortly before 11:30 last night when it went off the road and into the was.

the impact caused the trailer to break into multiple pieces and the cab to be torn from the framing, pending the driver inside. the 37-year-old keep spencer suffered serious injuries in the crash, but is now in stable condition. erin: pictures are unbelievable. fire officials in manchester are trying to figure out what sparked an overnight fire on the city' s west side. the flames broke out around 1:00 at a multi-family house on rimmon street. there are no reports of any injuries, but the red cross says it is helping six people who were displaced by this fire. five people were sent to the hospital last night after high levels of carbon monoxide were detected inside their home. sean: nashua firefighters were called to the house at 38 northwood drive after the residents reported symptoms of dizziness and difficulty breathing. ray brewer joins us live in nashua now. and, ray, fire officials say it was an 11-year-girl who realized there was a problem, right? ray: that' s right, sean. they say she prevented what could of been a family tragedy.

the home and noticed that people inside were not feeling well. she called her father who told her to get everyone out of the house and call 911. firefighters say when they enter the home, they detected monoxide. liberty utilities arrived on the scene and reported that the carbon monoxide was coming from the area of the furnace. the faulty furnace was immediately shut down and the home was ventilated. s hospital to be treated for various levels of carbon monoxide exposure. there are expected to be fine. firefighters say this incident should serve as a reminder to make sure you have a working smoke detectors and working carbon monoxide on every level of your home. live in nashua, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: new science is providing new clues in a 30-year-old cold case in allenstown. investigators have been able to provide some detailed composite

images of the woman and three children found inside metal barrels in the woods. in 1985, the bodies of a woman between 22 and 33-years-old, and a girl, around 9 or 10-years-old, were found. in 2000, the remains of two younger children, girls between the ages of 2 to 4-years-old, were also discovered. forensics show the woman is related to two of the children, most likely a mother and two daughters. but the third child is from a different family. investigators say all the victims lived together in the same area in the weeks or months before their deaths. >> they were killed at the same time and this time period has been narrowed down to sometime between 1980 and 1984. >> the friends and family members of these victims are still alive, they' re still out there, we just need to find them erin: investigators say 30 years ago, friends or family might have been told the victims moved. anyone with information on this

case is asked to call 1-800-the-lost. sean: the goalie for the manchester monarchs is facing serious accusations this morning. patrik bartosak is accused of assaulting his girlfriend. the alleged incident happened monday at an apartment complex in manchester. according to court documents, bartosak allegedly strangled his girlfriend, grabbed her, pushed her against a wall and slapped , her. he is now facing a felony charge of second-degree assault and 7 simple assault charges. bartosak played for the american hockey league' s manchester monarchs for two seasons. he moved with the team to california, but returned to new hampshire just last friday to s. in a statement the monarchs said -- "this is a very serious matter and these allegations represent a type of behavior we do not stand for. we will continue to gather information and comment further when appropriate." erin: a third person charged in connection with the overdose death of a teenager in rochester is expected to face a judge today. 31-year-old leslie aberle is scheduled to be arraigned on charges including dispensing a controlled drug with death

the charges stem from the death of 17-year-old eve tarmey. police say the teen died last month from a fentanyl overdose. they say aberle went to tarmey, tarmey' s mother, and the mother' s boyfriend. sean: an autopsy is scheduled today on the body of a plymouth state university student found dead in the pemigewasset river. jake nawn was reported missing last thursday. friends, family and fish game officers searched for him for days, but yesterday, plymouth state confirmed that he was found dead. investigators say it is too early to comment on the circumstances surrounding jake' s death. erin: a scary situation for a homeowner in belmont. police say she caught a man breaking into her home. officers say the suspect, steven belanger, knocked on the woman' s door yesterday, but she did not answer. she says she watched belanger walk around her house and climb through a window. he took off when he saw her. police say the homeowner took pictures of the suspect' s car as he drove off, which helped them track him down. sean: the trial continues today

for an enfield daycare owner, charged in connection with the 2014 death of a little girl in her care. four-year-old willa clark died just days after her brown hooded jacket got caught on a stick fort, leaving her hanging in the defendant' s back yard. at the time prosecutors say , 56-year-old mary ellen burritt was inside watching five other children, all under the age of five. >> but this was a structure, that a 2, a 3 and two 4-year-olds were playing around, over 85 feet from the defendant' s house while the defendant was inside caring for a three-month-old of repairing lunch. >> this is a, my work one in a , million, horrible, horrible accident. sean: burritt faces charges of reckless conduct and running an unlicensed daycare. erin: a special ceremony is being held in brookline today to reunite a vietnam veteran with his long lost dog tag. sergeant donald winterhalter

sean: breaking news in the paris terror attacks. at least two suspects have been killed and several others arrested during a standoff with police. let' s get straight to nikole killion who is live in washington for the late-breaking developments. and nikole, this all came during a raid that lasted for several what can you tell us? hours. nikole: seven hours to be exact. although, french government says this raid appears to be overcome although, there is still some activity that continues to go on at the site. just a short time ago, french officials actually toured the site in a paris suburb were police stormed an apartment building overnight. several people were arrested and at least two people were killed in a standoff with police, including a female suicide bomber who blew herself up. this target of the alleged mastermind of the attacks, the 27-year-old who is a belgian of moroccan descent who had also

the paris prosecutor said they have not been able to identify those suspects who have been involved in the raid, nor have they said the fate of the suspected mastermind. certainly, at this point in time, the operation they say appears to be somewhat of a success. sean: that is the big question. any more information about the suspects? nikole: they haven' t provided the identities of these suspects, but if they did in fact nabbed the mastermind, of course, it would be a huge significant development simply because not only do they believe he was responsible for the paris attacks, but u.s. officials had also been tracking him and believe he is a key isis figure. one important thing to know, sounds like it was good old police work that may have led to at least the raid taking place overnight with the paris prosecutor saying this morning that surveillance and taped phone conversations is what helped them zero in on this particular neighborhood and

apartment building. erin: changes appear to be coming in the trial of a killing his teacher. 16-year-old philip chism went to his holding cell when the judge called a recess yesterday. but he refused to return to the courtroom during testimony about where he allegedly dumped colleen ritzer' s body two years ago. chism told his attorney he was about to explode and the judge even tried to talk to him himself. >> he was lying on the floor mumbling with his eyes closed. >> he said, i can' t take it anymore. i can come out. i can' t come out. i don' t want to hurt to hurt you. i don' t want to hurt anyone. erin: the judge asked for a new psychological evaluation. he also ordered technicians to install a live video feed inside chism' s holding cell. sean: in sports, the bruins skated on their home ice with the san jose sharks last night.

sean: this morning meteorologist haley lapoint takes a closer look at something all granite staters have experienced -- the wind chill. haley: it' s about to get mighty cold these next few months. i don' t have to tell you this. we do with some very rough winters. and it' s not only due to the arctic cold, but also the wind. the blowing of that arctic cold makes the air feel harsh and brutal. we meteorologists call that feeling the wind chill. the wind chill isn' t a reading that a thermometer gets, it is a mathematical formula that uses science and technology to calculate the dangers and overall brisk feeling from winter winds and freezing temperatures. so when we are standing outside, no wind, body can retain heat. when the wind blows it away, it literally blows away the heat here'
