actually see a little warm up. let' s get the thanksgiving forecast from chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: already beginning to warm up. it' s cold down in the valleys where many of us reside. coastline. last night at this hour route around 10, the night prior down near zero. the warm air is overriding the cool stuff right at the low levels and producing a low cloud deck beginning to stretch in over the monadnock region over western and central parts of massachusetts. it' s moving northeastward so tomorrow many will wake up to low clouds and a couple of sprinkles. we cannot rule that out for thanksgiving morning. when the afternoon a little brighter and milder. what about the warmer temperatures on friday?

we will look at that straight ahead. tom: across the country people flying to their thanksgiving destination are encountering increased security. on monday, the state department issued a worldwide travel alert, but president obama said today there' s no specific, credible threat to the u.s. homeland. wmur' s stephanie woods joins us live from the manchester-boston regional airport. stephanie: travelers flew in to manchester tonight relieved to be home for thanksgiving and out of long airport security lines. but they say security was no more stringent than usual. >> i' m a little bit more on edge in general because you know, this is the time when you worry that they will do something that would be really impactful. stephanie aaa estimates that : nearly 47 million people across the country will be traveling 50 miles or more this long holiday weekend. but after terror attacks abroad in the past several weeks many of those millions are anxious about travel. >> i think all of us recognize

took place in paris was. and as i said yesterday, for many of us, the events there touched a deep chord. stephanie in an address : wednesday president barack obama said he knows of no specific and credible intelligence that a terrorist group like isis is plotting an attack on u.s. soil. >> so as americans travel this weekend to be with their loved ones, i want them to know that our counterterrorism intelligence, homeland security, and law enforcement professionals at every level are working overtime. they are continually monitoring threats at home and abroad. stephanie bob womack flew into : manchester airport from toronto and says the security lines were just as long as they usually are. >> security seemed to be relaxed. thorough. but i appreciate them doing what they' re doing but scary times. stephanie zach gardner says tsa : agents were doing their jobs in orlando but he likes to keep security concerns at the back of his mind. >> i hate flying always so i' m

-- at the pump. the national average for a gallon of unleaded fuel is at its lowest level since 2008. folks filling up tonight in manchester were paying only $1.97 per gallon. travelers we talked to said the low prices helped influence them to take the trip across the state or across the country this holiday weekend. >> because the gas prices are down, i think it has a lot to do with it. people are out there spending and it does help us all to keep the prices down, so i think its a blessing. tom the average price of a : gallon of regular in new hampshire is $2.08, almost 80 cents cheaper than last year. new hampshire has the cheapest average gas price in new england right now. connecticut is the highest at $2.26 a gallon. you can get weather updates anytime this holiday weekend with our wmur storm watch app. you' ll find everything from a video forecast to a specific outlook for different regions of the state. shelley: police in massachusetts say they' ve arrested a man wanted in new hampshire for hitting a police officer with a

stolen car. maurice dejesus was arrested in groton. officers got an alert last night to watch out for a car stolen out of hudson that was involved in an armed robbery. police say dejesus hit a nashua police officer and tried to run down another. groton police say when they spotted dejesus a little later, he led them on a chase before crashing. he faces charges in massachusetts now, but more are expected from new hampshire. hampton police say they' ve arrested a man who was running an illegal taxi service. michael heath is accused of using his taxi service, called mike' s rides to sell drugs and to drive an undercover police officer who was posing as a prostitute. officers say heath also sold drugs to an undercover officer. he' s being held on bail. tom: manchester police say a person is in critical condition after a stabbing this evening. officers were called to an area near veterans park around 4:30. they found a man who had several stab wounds.

he was taken to the hospital. no word on any charges or what led up to the stabbing. shelley: a disturbing story out of goffstown. a man had his nursing assistant license permanently revoked after investigators say he was caught assaulting an elderly patient at a seniors' home. an assistant attorney general says timothy morrissey allegedly abused an 80-year-old patient with dementia. >> they are very serious allegations and with an eye witness they are pretty confident in their decision i think. shelley the new hampshire : nursing board has decided to s nursing assistant license after he allegedly sexually assaulted an 80-year-old woman at this goffstown nursing home. >> its very, very sad because they are so vulnerable and dependant on the people who care for them. so there's a tremendous amount of trust that was violated. shelley assistant attorney : general laurel o' connor says another nursing assistant walked in on morrissey and allegedly

inappropriate to the woman. according to the order from the new hampshire board of nursing, when she told him to stop and asked what he was doing morrissey said, " you know what you saw." >> he didn' t come right out and say yes, i did this, but more like this is the most embarrassing thing i've ever done, which indicates he was admitting to what he has done. shelley when speaking with the : nurse on duty the order says morrissey claimed, " i know its sick, i need help." morrissey has not been criminally charged, but o' connor says his license was temporarily suspended. he didnt show up to a scheduled hearing and tuesday the board made their final decision. >> in new hampshire, he will not be able to get a license as a licensed nursing assistant again. shelley: morrissey can apply for a license in other states but his revocation is listed on the new hampshire nursing board' s website.

been filed. tom: a former teaching assistant at a school in concord has then indicted on multiple counts of sexual assault. donald levesque is accused of sexually assaulting one of his students at the shaker road school and manufacturing child sexual abuse images in 2013 and 2014. the alleged assaults happened off school grounds. levesque resigned from the school a year and a half ago. saint paul' s grad owen labrie is appealing his conviction. the appeal takes issue with the requirement that he register as a sex offender, as well as his felony conviction saying it' s for a charge that should have never been applied to him in the first place. labrie was found guilty of charges including misdemeanor sexual assault related to an encounter with another student at the school. shelley: the owner of a waterpark in candia has abandoned his post at the top of a waterslide. liquid planet is set to be sold at auction soon. two and a half weeks ago, the owner chained himself to the top of a waterslide to try to find investors. in a facebook post today, he said he' s calling it quits because he hasn'

t raised the money he needs and his doctor believes he' s developing pneumonia. a state report from maine confirms the cause of last winter' s chairlift accident at sugarloaf. a mechanical failure in a coupling caused the king pine lift to start going backwards, but an anti-rollback device failed to engage. seven skiers were hurt and more than 200 had to be rescued. earlier this month, sugarloaf replaced the mechanics of the lift but reused the towers and chairs. tom: a judge in new york heard arguments about the future of daily fantasies boards tonight. coming up on news 9 tonight. when he is expected to decide if it should be considered illegal gambling. >> tom brady, thank you so much. shelley: coming up next, the

french lawmakers have overwhelmingly voted to continue airstrikes against the islamic state in syria. shelley: the group has claimed responsibility for the terror attacks two weeks ago that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more. french fighter jets first started airstrikes against the islamic state in iraq last year. the mission expanded to syria in a judge said he won' t take long to rule on whether daily fantasy sports sites can operate in new york state. the judge heard arguments today about the legality of boston-based draft kings as well as fan duel. earlier this month, the new york attorney general sent cease and desist letters to the companies, saying they' re illegal gambling. the sites say their games are based on skill. tom brady has granted the wish of a sick new hampshire woman just in time for thanksgiving. tom: the q.b. answered a plea on facebook from one of his biggest he' s scoring big points with the nashua woman and her family.

today, crisp and clear skies throughout most of the afternoon. low clouds are creeping in from the south, not from the west, even though there are some clouds beginning to drifting over northern parts of vermont and upstate new york. notice the low clouds giving him from the south. that means warm air is trying to override the cool stuff. that means a good chance of mostly cloudy skies for tomorrow morning especially south of the white mountains. 30' downtown manchester, temperatures will bottom out in another hour or two and then rise as we go toward the early part of the morning. temperatures will bottom out where they are right now invite 5:00 a.m. rising in the low to mid 30' s. speaking of rising temperatures, notice all the warmth building from st. louis up to chicago and

afternoon and on friday before cooler air back to the west rushes in on northwest flow for the actual week in itself saturday and sunday, bringing temperatures closer to average. back to the west the clouds stay put and it stays mostly drive through the next couple of days. the exception is tomorrow morning. they live any precipitation but with that went on shore could see a few sprinkles or touch of drizzle through midday and the clouds will break up in many spots during the course of the of concord. friday a couple of showers toward evening but by then the wind cranks up as the southwest and temperatures jump up nicely. afternoon, mid to upper 40' s to near 50 are north, near 50 in

program for thanksgiving dinner. the team is heading to stillings dining hall tomorrow afternoon. according the head chef david cande, this was the food order. 108 pounds of boneless turkey breast. 1oo pounds of potatoes, butter, and light cream. 75 pounds of stuffing and gravy. a 60 pound roast, and 60 pounds of veggies plus dessert. unh football is in the playoffs for the 12th year in a row, so this holiday dinner as a team has become a tradition. >> we are going to have a great day over at the dining hall. the play on saturday right after thanksgiving, we always get together in the dining hall. it' s a pretty cool thing. hearing what they are thankful for, having some of the guys stand up and say some heart tell things about family and teammates, it' s a pretty good day as were sitting there is a family, sharing the great experience of thanksgiving.
