josh: i think a lot of people are certainly thankful for the fact that we had a clear, dry conditions for today. today we had started out with clouds, and we only made it into the 50' s today. in northern new hampshire, it is partly cloudy at the moment. as you can see, there are more partly cloudy skies to go, and it is bringing a more mild air for tomorrow. out to our west, there it is, you can see it, a cold front. for tomorrow, it will be one more above dev urged a -- above average day. there is a mature of clouds and sunshine -- mixture of clouds and sunshine. it does come to an end by the weekend. we will show you what the temperatures are returning to in

so we packed everything up and we went to my daughter' s. thing. nothing was done on time. things were overcooked and things were undercooked. that was the best thanksgiving i have had in a long time. heather: forced to go with the flow, it' s around with people was not so bad after all. apartment building have extra reason to say they are thankful for this year. jennifer crompton has that tonight. jennifer: aside from the smell of smoke in the air at 29 new york street, only a few broken windows and burned belongings are long -- along the side of the property are indications of the close call here in dover just before 3:00 on thanksgiving morning. >> from my bedroom, i saw them

go onto the porch there and they started spraying our roof. jennifer: rob hale lives next door. he awoke to chaos as the apartment residents of several animals spilled out onto the streets >> -- streets. >> my daughter was home, and the two dogs in the two cats in the to bunnies were home. jennifer: we spoke to one who did not want to be identified. the scene quickly. >> they grab the animals and her out. jennifer: the fire was contained to an upstairs unit. investigators believed it started with pot left on the stove. the woman in that unit got out the was checked into the hospital. she was worried when she first got out because her dog had not at her apartment was filling

according to firefighters, a dog poked its nose through a window. i say not only did it likely by itself more time in the way of fresh air, it is also how they knew the dog was still trapped inside. >> the docket actually presented itself out of the window, which i have never seen before. we went in and in our primary search and we subsequently found a dog that was alive. i am just thing for you the firefighters were here and helped everyone and no one got hurt. jennifer: a fire captain reminded us that anytime there is a building fire, it is a tragedy for people involved. >> fortunately, nobody was severely injured in this fire. that is something to always be thankful for. i think it helped put it in perspective for people. jean: and the thanks giving spirit was going strong early this morning in manchester where owners of a restaurant threw open the doors to the public for free meals.

>> what they are doing for us is great because some people don' t have something like this. >> in newmarket, a growing tradition. jeremy' s free thanksgiving dinner. a local pizzeria owner is fulfilling a childhood dream to make food and fellowship available to the entire community. >> i really want people to come in to eat and to eat desert together and a food together and be a family together and enjoy it with my family. >> in making want to feel wanted and loved. it is just the atmosphere. >> i had a void today and i wanted to fill it. andy -- adam: this is the sixth year that jeremy has put on this community feast and each year it has drawn more people and needed a little bit more space. jeremy: we are hoping for more every year. if we have to move to another location, we have to do it four times already in six years because we outgrow it.

but it is great and we love to do it. adam: in concord, at the windmill family restaurant, they have been putting on a think giving feast for the public for more than 25 years now. it is an event that is now held in memory of the windmill parsley owner. >> and today, the u n h football team continued a tradition of eating thanksgiving dinner together ahead of a playoff game. the wildcats sat down to a massive meal earlier this afternoon, 108 pounds of turkey breast, 100 pounds of mashed potatoes, 75 pounds of stuffing, and 60 pounds of vegetables. they' ll be hosting called a on saturday afternoon at cal will stadium. and hundreds of people in rochester served turkey and all of the fixings to those who might have gone without.

jen: the true spirit of thanksgiving found in rochester. jean: turkey dinners with all of the classic trimmings were served to about 500 people in need. all in tears at the true memorial baptist church fed most on-site and delivered the rest to anyone who needed to stay home. volunteers served dinners on china instead of tape or to make guests feel special on this important day. >> people who really have a need that can use this mail, that is one of the purposes. another purpose is that people just don' t want to be alone on this thanksgiving. so a lot of the volunteers come to me and say that they wanted to come and make a difference. jean: and they sure do. this thanksgiving has been -- thanks giving tradition has been going on for nearly 30 years. .

josh: look at those clouds that we started off with. then those clouds started to break and we had partly cloudy and then in some cases, mostly the afternoon. notice that even the northern part of the state briefly made it into the lower 50' s for a while today. some parts of southern new hampshire getting well into the s. we will go even higher through the day tomorrow as we will see those temperatures tomorrow heading up near or perhaps even some spots going up above 60 degrees. 30' s in northern new hampshire, and you have fallen about 20 degrees off of your highs a couple of hours ago. still 40' s and 50' s everywhere else, and those temperatures will bolster -- will mostly be bottoming out into the lower 40' s overnight. we will show you that in just a moment. onto the clouds and into the brakes that we had in between.

20 of sun tomorrow, the clouds will pick up a little bit late this. this is a cold front that will roll through the state. take a look at this year, that is our day tomorrow, but as a gets closer, but especially in northern new hampshire, and lay in the day, you will notice the clouds increasing a little it. -- bir. -- bit. then on the other side, for the weekend, that is our air mass, it is cooler, but at least it is sunny weather that we will be seen it move-in for the weekend, at least for most of it, anyway. the mild air is coming up, but you see that wind shift coming up with that cold front. the wind direction changes, and it brings temperatures right about to where you would expect for this time of year. take a look now at the next several hours. partly cloudy skies for tonight and for tomorrow. outdoor activities, no problem

temperatures will be a good five or so degrees warmer than it was today. late tomorrow, the clouds could increase, and you could see a shower in the mountains late in the day or early in the evening. these showers will begin to work from north to south over the and -- over the overnight hours. then things start to clear out. for tonight, temperatures are chilly us to in the north north country. for black friday, temperatures in the upper 50' s. it is much more average temperatures, and these temperatures are a couple of degrees above average. concord' s average temperature is 44, so it will be above that
