sean: good morning. thanks for waking up with us. i hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving today. todays you walk out the door, it is not going to feel like black friday. it feels more like mid september. hayley: temperatures approaching 60 degrees. i guess we'll take it. especially since it is just a one-day thing. it would be good to get outside after all of the eating and some of the decorating that you want to do today. here's a live look in manchester. the other thing we're waking up to this morning other than the mild air. some fog. it is reducing visibility in a big way. 42 in concord. 39 in laconia. 36 in lebanon. compare that to plymouth. it is 28 degrees. big differences across the state this morning. we're all going to experience a warm afternoon with highs in the upper 50's and low 60's. there's the latest on the visibility. you can see only a half a mile there. be careful if you are early hour. visibility is reduced in a lot of spots. look at the

temperatures. some warm stuff. how long the mild air sticks around and when we could see some showers coming up. sean: thanks. many enjoyed a quiet turkey dinner. others had their eyes on the prize at the mall of new hampshire. live from the mall with the super bowl of shopping, if you will. amy: indeed, black friday is here. the mall of new hampshire officially opened at 6:00. we want to bring in jack. he's been the manager here for seven years. tell us what to expect today. >> that's right. we have a lot -- it is a fun day for us here at mall of new hampshire. we have a lot of festive things going on. spread love is our campaign this year. we actually have the mayor that's going to be baking cookies beginning at 8:00 a.m. and handing them out to the guests. we're expecting a lot of fun activities. we're going to be giving away some treats and strolling through the mall.

uggs? come on. if you are planning out heading out the door, here's what to expect. a little bit of red there. otherwise everything looking green out there for your black friday travel. many people out shopping are looking for deals on electronics. other groups are having black friday sales of their own. the new hampshire spca is holding the save a life sale. they will have door buster specials. from 9:00 to 4:00, adopters can pick their own price on all adult animals. there are bunnies, birds, small animals, and horses available. they hope to find homes for 50 animals today. it is not just the granite state seeing thousands of shoppers. holiday shoppers across the country are out and about. stephanie ramos looks at the chaos.

2:45 thursday morning. there aren't many signs of damage from the outside, neighbors say it was chaos as people rushed to get out. one woman inside was taken to the hospital as a precaution. no one was seriously injured. >> were you nervous? >> i was very nervous. i just woke up. there was -- this is our bedroom right here. this was red flashing lights. we had no clue. sean: the cause of the fire is under investigation. crews think it started with something left on a stove. woman from maine faces charges connected to a fight. last year rolinda december desjardins is accused of getting into a fight over a stolen purse where her dog bit a person in the groin. police say she was also arrested for stealing purses in two grocery stores in 2010. this morning russia says it is joining the coalition led by the u.s. to fight the islamic state. vladimir putin, russia's president, says they are open to cooperating more closely with france and

the coalition. he's still upset that turkey shot down a russian war plane. the u.s. should have stopped turkey from taking action because the two countries are allies. today chicago is bracing for another day of protest after the release of video from a deadly police shooting. last night some demonstrators pulled down the police barricades while others tore lights off of the christmas tree. some activist have called for a massive black friday march along a popular shopping street. the officer who opened fire has been charged with murder. mcdonald's family did not want the video released. they have appealed for calm. the white house went in to lockdown thursday after a man wearing an american flag was caught climbing over the fence. the secret service says the suspect was taken in to custody. president obama and his family were inside at the time. the secret service says criminal charges are now pending. north and south fence lines were temporarily closed during the investigation.

the clouds will win the battle. it will become mostly cloudy. look at those temperatures. 40's and upper 40's by 8:00 a.m. by noontime, many of us approaching the 60 yeahs. this is some very warm air. especially considering here we are in late november. it can be much colder than that, of course. here's the fog situation. visibility is greatly reduced in some spots. about a half a mile in rochester. .3 miles in concord and ply plymouth. it is patchy. you can hit this while you are driving and you can't see anything. be careful of that. it should lift. we'll get to see more sunshine. 42 in concord. it is 45 in manchester. with the warmer air today, we're going it have the winds helping to pump up the warm air. right now only five miles per hour. as we get through the day, the winds are going

to be become gusty. up here 20, 25 miles per hour as the warmer air surges in from the southwest. in the meantime, a few scattered clouds in the sky this morning. maybe even a little bit of fog as we mentioned. the rain showers you see off toward the west here, those don't arrive until the overnight hours for the vast majority of us. this is a cold front. it is a big one. you can see out toward the west the cold front where it is colder. you've got some ice and snow back toward omaha, kansas, oklahoma, and thanksgiving. for us, it is the mild air surging in. eventually the clouds and showers arriving later on tonight. day. it will be mostly sunny. clouds on the increase. bit afternoon, we'll call it a mix of sun and clouds. you can see a couple of showers getting in to the far northern reaches 5:00. overnight we'll have showers moving from north to south. there will be some on saturday. look at this.

hayley: good morning. 6:25. we're looking above the fog and clouds at the beautiful sunrise. we're going to have lots of sunshine today once the fog moves away. temperatures warm this afternoon. sean: that's a stunning view this morning from goffstown. a mistier -- mysterious object on mars has some thinking the red planet has a mouse problem. they recently took this picture from the planet. you see the object there way in the back? amateur astronomer enhanced the image noting it looks like a possible large mouse or other rodent. you be the judge. heist also admits the object is probably an optical illusion. it spent more than three years studying the live of mars. it found a mouse up there. ready, set, shop. we're live from the mall of new hampshire with how the crowds look on black friday. chip card controversy.

easy driving today. a thanksgiving tradition that's been served up new hampshire took place again on thursday. traditional thanksgiving meals are prepared for $500 people. volunteers deliver half of the meals to people who could not get to the church. the other half served with a smile and a welcoming spirit. >> we serve on real china. the wait people come, take your order your get your meal, bring it back. treat you special. everybody is special. sean: volunteers even grew some of the food themselves. the best part is making everyone feel like a family. it was a beautiful thanksgiving this year. easy traveling and sunny skies made the holiday a world apart from last year. last year people were shoveling out and deal, widespread power outages. we first met jason demers when he was barbecuing.

they will be dancing to move that you can enjoy. there will be a donation area to benefit the homes for our troops charity. the animated lights show begin at 5:00 p.m. nightly. 13 countryside drive there in nashua. the new hampshire fish and family is deciding whether or not to restore hunting and trapping season for bobcats. the state ban hunting or trapping bobcats when the population dropped below an estimated 200. population may have rebounded to as many as 2,200 in the spring and summer. animal advocates will be demonstrating today as part of the nationwide fur free friday protests. as the holiday travel season gets underway, the state wants to hear from you on how to improve the rest areas and welcome centers. the departments of transportation and resources in economic development kicking off a series of public hearings. transportation officials

say $5 million visitors stop in the centers annually. the first hearing is at the transportation headquarters in concord on tuesday. four more hearings will be held through early january in keene, lebanon, lancaster, and seabrook. the mbta officer who was seriously injured in the manhunt for the tsarnaev brothers had more to be thankful for this thanksgiving. dic donahue and his wife announced they are expecting. dic and jim also have a 2-year-old son. congrats to dic and kim. sean: the victim has been identified from a shooting earlier this week. jephtre chery worked on the commuter rail. hundreds ran from the bar when the shooting started outside thursday morning. chery was killed and three other men were injured. >> this is uncalled for. particularly on a day

thanksgiving, no mother should get a phone call. sean: in september, two women were shot leaving the same bar. police had been in the bar to check for any potential problems. they think the shooter was able to get away in the crowd. they are hoping to find clues in surveillance video. concerns about anthrax in brussels yesterday turned out to be a false alarm. the suspicious powder was flour. the terror alert level has been lowered a notch. the prime minister says the threat of an attack is no longer considered imminent. the threat level indicates an attack is considered possible and likely. a stolen boarding pass. how a man managed to sneak on to a plane in utah. and it may take longer to make it through the check out line this holiday season. why new credit cards are to blame. hayley: one more sunny, dry day today. we're going to warm things up with temperatures approaching

it is 6:42. temperatures are below freezing in conway. we're hearing there are some icy areas on the roadways. which is crazy because we're going to have warm temperatures. we have fog and moisture in the air. there could be a few icy spots up north. as we go through the day, we're going to warm up close to 60 degrees across the state. the full forecast in a couple of minutes. sean: thanks. pope francis is in uganda. an estimated 300,000 people gathered to hear the pontiff speak in kenya. this is the first visit to africa. 300,000 people attended which including dances and songs as well. a man is facing charges after stealing a boarding pass and hopped on to a southwest airlines flight in utah. a woman accidently left her boarding pass at a kiosk. then using his own id and the woman's boarding pass, he made it through

security through the gate and on to the plane. >> they check you at all of these stations. they appear to look at your id and look at you. >> there was no risk in the sense that the individual did go through a screening process. sean: police say they knew there was a mistake when the woman who bought the ticket tried to check in and the system said she was already on board. you may be shopping with a new credit card featuring a chip. they began sending them out earlier this year. as they report, industry watchers warn the new technology could make you wait in line a little longer this holiday season. >> forget swiping with a stripe. >> that was all of the technology of an eight track tape. very easy to clone and counterfeit. it is the new way to cash out for cards. >> my bank sent everybody cards.

at atlanta last night. matt white had two assists. colin stevens had 19 saves. monarchs win 3-2. they play at norfolk tonight. the hometown hero led the tigers to a championship. noah wade carried the ball 24 times. he also returned a punt for a touchdown, wracked up 332 all purpose yards in the game as well. the tigers beat interlakes moultonborough to win the first football championship since 2010. his college plans are up in the air right now. wade says he would love to play football at the next level if he's given the opportunity. >> i started out with the offensive line. they dominated all game. best line wins. that's our motto. last time we plaid them, i had 160 yards. i expected tough running. the lineman and me prepared all week. they did a nice job.

with your forecast. sean: i was out there yesterday. we didn't need the jacket. totally different sane this morning. hayley: look at that. surgery -- sean: i'm looking and not seeing anything. hayley: we have a lot of moisture. we were below freezing up north. the roads are slick. big heads up for any of you heading out in carroll county and grafton county and up in to coos county. temperatures are cold enough that some of that fog may freeze on the roadways. here's a live look all across the state. we do have fog in some spots. other spots it is beautiful with the sun coming up. we'll be able to see that once the fog goes away. which will happen within the next couple of hours or so. look at visibilities across the state. some of us down below even a half a mile. .3 miles visibility in concord, manchester, and nashua. some of the busiest

areas. one mile visibility in rochester. down to a half a mile in keene. take it easy as you are driving. whenever you are going, where it is to the malls or traveling back home after the nice thanksgiving meal you had yesterday. 42 in concord right now. we have 43 in manchester. 39 in nash ban you see up north here this is where the problems could be with freezing conditions on the roadways. 29 degrees in plymouth. 27 in whitefield. with some moisture right at the low levels above right at the road levels you can get some freezing going on. that why there could be some black ice. take it easy whether it be from the fog or the ice. temperatures this afternoon are really going to climb and surge in to upper 50's and 60 ohs across the state. the average high is 44. we're well above that today. even tomorrow will be a couple of degrees above that before the temperatures come crashing back down to reality. by late in the weekend

sean: welcome back. updating the top stories. it is black friday. thousands will be hitting the malls today. amy: they are here already. live at the mall of new hampshire. the mall opened at 6:00 this morning. some people tell me they've been shopping since midnight. santa shows up at 10:00. the mall closes tonight at 10:00. sean: granite staters were thankful for the weather. last thanksgiving they saw the first snowstorm of the season causing thousands to lose power. the state wants to hear from you on how to improve the rest areas.
