kevin: moore showers out there this afternoon, lasting into the evening. we have the details on that with futurecast ahead. erin: now at noon, a guilty plea from a father accused of driving under the influence in a crash that killed his son. his final statement before sentencing. in bedford. state investigators are now on the scene trying to determine what sparked the five-alarm blaze. plus, it was a last ditch effort by the owner that drew national attention. but today, the liquid planet water park is up on the auction block. erin: good afternoon. i' m erin fehlau. we begin this noon with a look outside. we do have some live images from colebrook and manchester where but rain isn' t the only thing on the radar. we want to check in with meteorologist kevin skarupa. some areas could get snow tonight? kevin: yes. a lot of it will be in rain for m, but a clue -- but a couple of spots of north could pick up some accumulation. panning out, you' ll notice to our west, an upper-level system with cooler air eventually involved. eventually after temperatures get their way into the low and mid 40' s and will follow later this evening, there is an outlook of mostly what will occur during the daylight hours tomorrow. the potential north of the white mountains with a couple of mixed showers in the foothills. from there, we will talk about

forecast and the weekend coming just a bit. erin: all right, kevin, thank you. a father who killed his son in an automobile accident is on his way to state prison. the defendant pled guilty to a charge of negligent homicide. today he faced his sentence. ray brewer was live at the hearing, and ray, i understand the boy' s mother was in court, did she address the court? ray: no she did not, erin. t want to speak in part because it deal. the prosecution saying that she wanted two things today -- one, for the father to accept responsibility for his actions, process of putting this behind the day after what would have s 16th birthday, his father was sentenced to death. at the sentencing hearing for negligent homicide, nghia huynh talked about his loss. nghia huynh: the best gift that god ever gave to me was my son,

was when my son was born, and the saddest day and darkest day of my life was when my son was gone. ray: back in february of 2014, huynh lost control of his car on the everett turnpike in merrimack, striking the median and ending up on its roof. the crash killed his son, kobe, who was 14 at the time. huynh had also been drinking prior to the crash. under the plea deal, huynh will serve two years to seven years cassie devine: negligent homicide cases are some of the most difficult that we prosecute, but in this instance, the defendant killed his own the state can' t punish him any more than he' s going to punish himself for that. ray: but the prosecution added that the state needs to send a message that drinking and driving won' t be tolerated, especially as we are in the holiday season. the plea deal also spares the boy' s mother from having to testify. the defense says that' s one reason why huynh accepted the deal. susanne ketteridge: he didn' t want to put his son' s mother through a trial. this is kobe' s birthday week. he would have been 16. it was extraordinarily emotional

outcome. ray: in court, it was also mentioned that huynh has an immigration issue to deal with that he will have to deal with. reporting live in nashua, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: thank you, right. the state fire marshal' s office has joined the investigation into what caused a five-alarm fire that gutted a bedford house. crews from a dozen communities battled the blaze on burleigh terrace. firefighters say the fire was so massive, they poured up to 180,000 gallons of water on it. luckily no one was hurt, but five adults and two children were displaced. meanwhile in exeter, investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire in a 150-year-old home there. when firefighters arrived on oak street, they found the back of the house and garage engulfed in flames. crews were able to keep the fire from spreading. one firefighter was treated for some minor cuts.

man involved in a standoff with police in hampton falls. police were called to a house on exeter road yesterday for a report of an overdose. they say mark tracey appeared to be under the influence and made a threat involving a weapon. they left and tried to convince him to come out. he is charged with criminal threatening and breach of bail. police are searching for this man, who robbed the mascoma savings bank in charleston yesterday afternoon. investigators say he pulled a gun inside the main street branch and demanded money. if you recognize him, you are urged to call police. liquid planet water park in candia is being auctioned off today. the water park is being sold despite the current owner' s efforts to find investors to keep it running. last month, kevin dumont chained himself for 17 days to one of his water slides in a last ditch effort to save his business. he needed to pay off about $1

for the first time in the fight against isis, the u.s. is putting american combat troops on the ground in a more permanent role in iraq and syria. this news comes as british parliament votes today on whether to join the isis bombing abc' s lana zak has more from washington. lana: two of the world' s biggest military forces are planning stepped-up action in the war against isis. here in the u.s., secretary of defense ash carter announcing a it will be based in iraq and intelligence, free hostages, and aim to capture isis leaders. carter telling a congressional right course. sec. carter: we' homeland, we' re working to defeat isil at its core in syria and iraq. lana: while in london, the british parliament debating today if they should launch syria. right now, british forces are only targeting isis in iraq.

more than a year to release this now-infamous dash cam video. alderman moore: this administration has to answer what did they know and when. elizabeth: according to prosecutors, officer jason van dyke fired his weapon 16 times in 15 seconds, killing 17-year-old lacquan mcdonald last october. just last week, the video was released and van dyke charged with murder. he is maintaining he opened fired fearing for his life. this second dash cam video shows a police chase in a burger king parking lot moments before abc news obtaining these images of an officer inside the restaurant. the burger king district manager alleging officers deleted video, but investigators say a forensic review of the system found the video was not tampered with, but s leaders must go. mayor rahm emmanuel: i think i' m doing my job. i try to do it every day and do it in a professional way. anita alvarez: i have no intention of resigning. there is no reason for me to resign. elizabeth: in a statement, the

>> now, meteorologist kevin skarupa with your stormwatch 9 forecast. kevin: five degrees to six degrees making an enormous difference and traveling conditions this afternoon. patchy fog in areas along with rainfall. temperatures are again not marginal as far as near the freezing mark and backup in the upper 30' s and lower 40' s in a lot of cases. that will continue to work its way up to the lower half of the 40' s for most in the afternoon with the light wind come over and asked -- overcast skies, and the occasional rain, which at times will come down in a pretty good clip. we will continue on with more rain shower activity. i think mid-to-late evening tonight. we' ll see the more organized of the activity start to wind down. but you can see moderate rainfall, lowering the rainfall. that' ll looks to change as you can out here.
