investigators are looking for the man they say bought two of the guns used in the attack. the guns were bought legally more than three years ago. nearly two dozen people were injured in the shooting, including a woman who grew up here in new hampshire. friends and family maybes say amanda gasbar g was shot. ray: she grew up in new hampshire. the pastor that first preached to her in mt. vernon where she and her sisters were toddlers. she now lives in california and works for the san bernardino county health department. she had surge after being shot in the leg three times. she's expected to be okay. >> shock for the whole church family. i'm -- we've seen these things on the news before. we've never had a face with them. now it is a -- it struck

you know. it is a lot closer to home than ever before. ray: she worked at the cheshire medical center as the emergency preparedness coordinator from 2009 to 2012. her parents are with her recovers. in the studios, ray sean: thanks. a man is recovering after he was shot in the lower part of his body manchester. police found the man inside an apartment on prescott street. they say they do not think the shooting was random. so far they have not announced any arrest or commented on a possible motive. a man that pleaded guilty to illing a young child has been denied parole. shane nickerson has been behind bars for the death of 18 month old zachary mcmillan. he was baby sitting when he beat the child to death after he started crying. his mother talked about the pain she has

are many families around the granite state that are on -- have hard times right now. they are having trouble to buy the christmas gifts. that's why the u.s. marines have stepped in with the toys for tots program. they are hoping to collect 15,000 toys over this weekend. we're happy to help them out. this year there's a great need for babies to toddlers, zeros to two. also they are looking for items for girls, ages six to nine and boys and girls ages 10-13. if you haven't bought some toys in a while, you might be wondering what do i get? babies and toddlers they are looking for blocks, ride-on toys, learning toys, bath toys are great. suggestions for girls aging six to 13, craft and jewelry making kit, science kits, these are also good for the boys, board games, scooters, and skateboards.

sean: welcome back. u.s. defense secretary, ash carter, has ordered the military to open up all jobs to women, including combat roles. it follows years of reviews and pushback. the marine corps had asked to keep excluding women from certain infantry and combat roles. they have 30 days to submit plans for inclusion. this hometown hero decided to keep his talents close to home. he is a thrower for the university track and field. he made an impact. last year michael won the indoor conference championship in the weight throw and outdoor hammer throw. he is a communications major and received academic honors last spring. you are likely to see a touch of history on ornaments.

sean: as a child. yeah. skip all the other -- kevin: i was talking about now. of sunshine and clouds. you get up in the mountains, and a couple more snow showers are going to be possible. we're talking temperatures between 36 and 46. westerly breeze not as gusty. cooler nights and mild afternoon. lasting through monday before they increase system. even that looks like it could just be off shore. we start off early on. you can see the clouds continuing to streamline in. it bumps up against the western and northern mountains and lingers there and creates more clouds. the north western cloudy, south eastern clear set up looks to be the reality for the day today. maybe even a little bit of an enhancement with this weak disturbance. could mean a couple of snow showers. a lot of real estate in the slow moving pattern. huge area of high pressure settles in this weekend and is likely around through tuesday of next week.

snow showers are a possibility moving in from the northwest for a few north western areas and for a couple of northern areas in to the afternoon. areas in to the 30's. a fewer upper 20's to the west. we've seen the cooler air start to arrive first. westerly breeze will be offset by a good deal of sunshine. getting temperatures back in to the low to mid 40's. 45 in rochester. still some upper 30's for the white mountains northward. a lot more clouds today and the chance of a snow shower in to the afternoon and early evening. from there, you are going to notice as we go through tonight clearing across a good part of the northeast. for tomorrow, any sort of early cloudiness giving way to sunshine as the wind lightens so you don't get what is creating the clouds to continue. light wind with a big area of high pressure in control. it looks like a good deal of sunshine for both days over the weekend. tomorrow chances are statewide we'll be in the 40's. could touch 50 in a couple of southern locations.

more sunshine and a westerly breeze. temperatures will be milder. we're talking 46 to 56 from north to south. still either side of 50 for southern areas on monday ahead of the next system which would be off shore. high temperatures today going back in to the low to mid 40's. couple of snow showers up north. then we drop back from the mid 20's to lower 30's. from there, we'll continue to see temperatures work upward. we'll go up another four or five degrees tomorrow. another six or seven on sunday. low and mid 50's. you've been procrastinating putting up the christmas lights, this is your re-do chance. i usually try to do them in november. as you'll notice here, things looking mild in to early next week. the chance of showers wednesday. right now if we're going to see anything from that, the best chance will be some rain showers. sean: it does not feel like december. kevin: it didn't feel like november either. sean: true.

>> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now wmur "news 9 daybreak." sean: welcome back. good morning on friday, december 4th. a live look at meredith. 34 degrees out there. it is going to warm up this weekend. kevin will talk about the forecast in a moment. first let's get to the top stories. one of the people wounded in the mass shooting in san bernardino, california grew up in hinsdale, new hampshire. relatives say amanda gaspard is now recovering after being shot in the leg three times. a manchester man pleaded guilty to murdering his parents and was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison. today we are kicking off the spirit of giving toy drive. all of the toys will be tots. we'll check in a moment. kevin: we see both sides of this. there are a lot of people that are waiting

wounded in the mass shooting. amanda gaspard was shot in the leg three times. ray brewer live in the studio to tell us about her ties to the gran nit state. ray: she worked at the cheshire medical center from 2009 to 2012. she helped the hospital prepare for emergencies. on wednesday, she faced her own emergency. her childhood pastor says her strength and faith are helping her through it. >> shock for the whole church family. we've seen the things on the news before. we've never had a face with them. now it is struck one of ours -- one of us, you know? it is a lot closer to home than ever before. ray: art miller first preached to 32-year-old amanda gaspard at mountainview in vernon, vermont. she and her sister were just toddlers. >> very tender hearted for other people. she spent some time in africa and india doing mission work. that's one reason she's

ray: gaspard now lives in california and works for the san department. her parents still live in hinsdale. he prayed with ken and dianne when he first shooting. >> they are all exhausted. they didn't sleep last night much. they are encouraged. it is going to be a long amanda. they are just thrilled obviously some of the it. ray: a relative says amanda was shot in the leg three times. miller says gaspard underwent surgery went night. she will be okay. her parents are by her side at a hospital in california. in the studio, ray brewer, wmur news 9. sean: thanks. the manchester man who murdered their parents and set their home on fire will spend the rest of his life behind bars. matthew dion was sentenced to 60 years to

he killed his parents, bob and connie dion, in march of 2014. before his sentence was handed down, his former fiance spoke out in court. >> i cannot imagine how scared, how terrorized, and how many pain your parents must have felt to die by the hands you loved unconditionally. sean: in a statement they said they hope that bob and connie can now rest in peace. the man in the surveillance picture on the convenience store on cottage street at 8:30. no one was hurt. anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to littleton police. an investigation in to a deadly incident. a family pedestrian was hit and killed on route 302 yesterday morning. at this time, authorities are not releasing any further details. we'll keep you posted as soon as we learn new information.

identified the driver who was killed in a crash on lane road wednesday morning. investigators say the victim is 54-year-old daniel barden. speed was a factor. there's no indication that alcohol was involved. a mental competency hearing is being held for a flight attendant accused of assaulting a crew member and air marshal. joanne snow slapped a flight attendant from north carolina to germany. air marshals say she tried to unlock the front door. she told them quote she was crazy and atrain wreck. our spirit of giving toy drive gets underway today. wmur along with the partners z107 and rock 101 will be collecting all weekend long. erin fehlau live at the toys "r" us in manchester now. it is one of the collect sites. no activities yet.

the attackers have not been caught. scott weiland was found dead in minnesota last night. the band was scheduled to perform last night. the show was canceled. weiland struggled with substance abuse for years. the cause of his death has not been released. he was 48 years old. a new hampshire company has pleaded guilty to hacking in to a competitor's computer system. federal officials say general linen service in somersworth stole customer information. both companies go by general linen. there's no affiliation between the two. the fbi determined that the victims computer system was hacked 157 times between september of 2009 and april of 2010. >> they had downloaded about 1100 invoices which are the billing that the victim company had issued online to their own customers.

those invoices. it is their intention to use the invoices to try to take customers from the victim company. sean: general linen has offered to pay them $100,000 in restitution. it faces up to five years probation and $500,000 in fines. the new hampshire behavioral health summit continues in portsmouth today. it is an annual conference and training event. it is meant to highlight the conference of strengthening community-based mental health services and the role they play. the summit is being held at the chariton harborside hotel. new research finds that mental health courts are working to reduce repeat offending. they are designed to send people to treatment programs rather than jail. researchers say offenders with substance abuse problems spend significantly less time

offenses if they went to a mental health court. let's talk sports. celtics and kings played in mexico city. rondo was playing against his former team for the second time in his career. he was sent off of the court after a double technical foul. isaiah thomas led the celtics with 21 points and nine assists. boston hammered sacramento. the celtics play at san antonio tomorrow. goffstown senior running back, connor bourque, has been named the gatorade new hampshire football player of the year. the 5'5" speedster rushed for 1,500 yards and 26 touchdowns for the state champs. he had two touchdown catches and two kick returns for touchdowns. he ran for 211 yards against exeter. a big congratulations to connor bourque. a special event is being held at ragged mountain in danbury tomorrow.

few clouds advancing in from the west. up north it creates clouds. eventually there will be a risk of a couple more snow showers. fairly light. a big ridge of high otherwise. that's going to mean temperatures. somewhere between the mid 30's to mid 40's. tomorrow we should be in the 40's. there will be a lot of areas up above 50 degrees on sunday afternoon with sunshine. again there are a couple had. assuming any of those survive the trip over the green mountains, a few western areas and up north. temperatures starting the day in the 30's. just about statewide. you'll notice the difference by a couple of degrees from one town to the other. all in all, a fairly quiet start to the day. you'll notice a couple of mid to upper 20's out west where the cooler air is coming in first. we'll continue to see the cooler air make its way through. that will set up a couple of seasonally cool nights for us tonight and tomorrow night. we drop back in to the
