state police say drivers hit unexpected ice and crashed in gill some, richmond, and surrey. a 71-year-old man in the surrey crash was airlifted to the hospital. meteorologist hayley lapoint joins us. will it be icy for the monday morning commute? hayley: there could be spots, especially low-lying areas in the valley. we have high pressure on top of us. it is not ice forming from rainfall or anything like that. it is due to low-level moisture we have an fog, freezing in many locations. some of the low-lying areas, some of the off ramps, on ramps, bridges may have some ice on them. it' s 27 degrees in concord. 34 in manchester. we have 31 in lebanon. the fog has started to roll in in a few areas in lebanon and up towards whitefield and lancaster.

lebanon at the moment. there will be more fat -- patchy fog developing overnight, some of which could freeze. here is the school day forecast for the kids. it' s going to be chilly with temperatures in the 20' s, but we will recover and have one more mile day tomorrow. then the temperatures come back down to december reality once we get to midweek. i will have a full breakdown of the forecast coming up. stephanie: tonight, a hudson teenager is in a boston hospital. he was airlifted with possible life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car this afternoon. it happened on a street where problem. mike cronin has the latest on the investigation. mike: highland street in hudson was closed for several hours on sunday while police tried to figure out how a driver hit a 14-year-old boy. hudson police say this car struck the teen while he was crossing the highland street. he suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby school

>> injuries are generally going to be serious in nature with pedestrian strikes. his injuries appear to be life-threatening. stephanie: the 2700 tucson was heading west on the road after 3:00 sunday. police say scott hicks was driving with his wife and son in the vehicle. >> it doesn' t appear alcohol was a factor. mike: it' s unclear what caused the collision. >> the sun does set in the west, so we will take a look at that and see if it played any role. mike: the victim lives in hudson but not on highland street. family. mike: police do not know if speed was a factor, but in general, neighbors say they have seen several accidents around here. they say cars usually speed on the street. >> cars fly down this road at 40 long.

>> 20 years ago when we moved here, it was a back road. now people use it as a highway. they cut across from hudson to nashua. it' s crazy. mike: this remains an active investigation. while we wait to hear an update on the condition of the boy. mike cronin, wmur news 9. stephanie: a crash on northbound 93 slowed traffic through londonderry. it happened between exits 4 and 5. crews blocked the left lane while they responded to the crash. the lane reopened two hours later. state police have identified two s wilton. investigators say marcus harman of keene was driving east around 4:30 in the afternoon when he crossed the centerline. he smashed into a car driven by 67-year-old wendy davis. the route was closed for several hours. a dover menace facing charges

on a chase through deerfield. the officer tried to stop a reportedly stolen vehicle, but it didn' t stop. police chased after jonathan denison but say he crashed into a guardrail at the intersection of routes 43 and 107. he allegedly took off again, turned from 43 on two smith road, and crashed in someone' s yard. police say he ran off but was caught in nearby woods. denison is due in court tomorrow. hooksett tolls are trying to find out whoever fired a gun at a pickup truck.it happened just after 5:00 at hooksett road and college park drive. police tell news 9 that five rounds were shot. it' s not clear how many people were in the pickup truck, but none were hurt. investigators say a white van sped north away from the scene after the shooting. and man from hancock is due in court tomorrow after he allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer.

the distraught man with a car stuck on the athletic field. the officer says 22-year-old thomas heisenberger pointed a semiautomatic pistol at him and at one point fired the round into the ground. backup officers help to arrest him. and newly formed nonprofit plans to use a least home in out of prison. jack and julie mccarthy are the founders of this project. system for years and are trying to raise $150,000 to get this home opened in 2016. >> we have seen people come back not just once or twice but three times, and julie and i began to talk about what could be done to help some of these people from coming back in. >> they will have a group living room, gathering room. they will have a group dining room where they will share with the community in eating meals together, such as a family would

building dreams for marines. that organization helps marine veterans with life enhancing modifications to their homes. a new hampshire native is making history as the first-ever female combat engineer. in august, 20-year-old skyler anderson received her diploma in combat engineering from the university of vermont. the role of combat engineer was until recently only available to men. anderson is originally from dairy and enlisted in the national guard at 18. she hopes to be a role model for of the day, her messages about pride. it' of yourself and your job and feeling like you are safe and at home. stephanie: as far as what he plans to do next, anderson is trying to decide if she wants to be in enlisted sergeant or officer. she also wants to attend grad school.

in to help evacuate people after severe flooding hit parts of england and scotland. in some areas, a months worth of rain fell in three days. about 60,000 homes are without power. at least one person is dead, and rescue teams are searching for an elderly man who reportedly fell into a swollen river. forecasters in the area are warning that monday may bring more rain, and with that, more flooding. more than 7000 pounds of supplies are on their way to the international space station. >> 3, 2, 1. liftoff. stephanie: nasa launched sickness into orbit this afternoon. the cargo includes groceries, hardware, and supplies, as well as christmas gifts. today' s launch was nasa' s fourth attempt to get the ship off the ground. previous launches had to be called off due to bad weather. tonight marks the first night of hanukkah.

you can see in this live webcam, see on that top right side how the road looks shimmery? it could be some black ice starting to form. where you have fog, like in claremont, some of the fog is freezing on contact. with this low-level moisture, no rainfall at all. it' s just this fog, and with the low-level moisture, you can get this black ice to form. it' s going to be mainly in the valley areas, the bridges, the overpasses that cold very quickly and can freeze on contact. those will be the most dangerous places the next couple hours or so. in the meantime, we do have a few passing clouds. that' s actually good. it' s going to keep the temperatures from bottoming out. it' s also still remaining stubborn in lebanon. it was foggy all day in lebanon. in whitefield, littleton, we had
