are saying it is not suspicious. wmur' s kristen carosa joins us now with reaction from neighboring businesses. kristin many people walking by : are stopping to take a look at the loss here on market street. as you can see the building which has been roped off with caution tape. many are in disbelief that this has happened and the neighboring businesses say they are now concerned for the restaurants employees. clean up inside the gas light has begun. a devastating fire tore through the well known restaurant in dowtown portsmouth wednesday. it sits on market street. >> our first reaction was to make sure that everyone in here and over there was safe and unfortunately it does sound like there was a lot of damage so we help out, fed them while they were waiting to get their stuff >> kate boyle works at the portsmouth brewery, she calls the employees at the gas light family and feels for their loss. thankfully everybody in here was was just fine and we weren' t

out of work, many people are going to be looking to fill that gap i think. kristin everyone we spoke to is rebuild very soon. we have been in contact with the portsmouth fire department. no official word on a cause as of tonight. live in portsmouth, kristen carosa wmur news 9. ,shelley the father who somersworth over the summer has pleaded guilty to charges in maine. jeremiah grant took his 18-month-old son from the boy' s mother in july, and brought him to maine. he was arrested there, and the boy was returned home unharmed. grant waived extradition to new hampshire to face additional charges. the state supreme court will hear an appeal of a 1971 murder conviction. robert breest was found guilty of killing 18-year-old susan randall by beating her, then throwing her body onto the frozen merrimack river. breest says he was wrongly convicted. his lawyers say new dna test results could lead to reasonable doubt, meaning he could be found

held. in boston, northeastern university police are being armed with new weapons. the department' s deputy chief says the tactical rifles will be sent out with officers only in the case of an emergency. the officers won' t be regularly carrying the weapons around campus. the boston police department says it is concerned with the decision because their department wasn' t included in the process from the beginning. in commitment 2016 republican presidential hopeful carly fiorina is starting a three-day swing through the granite state. she held to townhall' s in lebanon today and are stephanie woods was there. >> despite getting just 5% of support in the latest wmur poll, carly fiorina says she will take new hampshire, and take down democratic opponent hillary clinton. >> i know the truth is in your heart of hearts, you cannot wait to see me debate hillary

after a video showing a white teenager. mayor rahm emanuel says -- their new details about the couple who plotted and carried out last weeks deadly shooting in san bernardino, california. investigators say this may not be the first attack they abc' s brandi hitt reports. >> a terror plot years in the making. the fbi director revealed, san bernardino killers, sayed farook and tashfeen malik, discussed waging jihad as early as 2013. >> they were actually radicalized before they started online and we' re working very, very hard to understand did they have other plans. >> authorities are now investigating whether this san bernardino area high school may have been their next target. photos of the campus, farook visited as a health inspector, were found on a cell phone the couple tried to destroy.

could be a couple of isolated areas in the great north woods that experience a touch of freezing rain but it will not be a widespread issue of north. 30' s to around 40, not really going so are -- this has been the standard pattern over the last several weeks and that looks to continue for quite some time, even beyond this upcoming weekend. the system marches through early tomorrow morning, a couple of widely scattered showers developing on futurecast in the mountains of the great north woods. the slight chance of a touch of freezing rain but not a major issue expected there. early morning fog and low clouds and then back into partial sun.
