adam: right now on news 9 at 6:00. three suspects arrested in connection to a home invasion in franklin. the victim in the hospital after jumping off the balcony to escape. stephanie: the governor is calling for a full investigation into liberty utility after a problem prompted carbon monoxide warnings and hundreds of calls to police. hayley: incredibly mild air makes a come back this holiday week, and there are some showers which could impact your travel. my forecast ahead. adam: a day after the last in the credit debate of the year, candidates are looking ahead to the final weeks before the new hampshire primary.

>> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now, wmur news 9 at 6:00. stephanie: an armed home invasion in franklin this morning. police say several calls reported a suspicious man on nelson street. tonight, the victim is in the hospital in serious condition and three suspects are facing charges. thanks for joining us. i am stephanie woods. adam: and i' s jennifer crompton arrests. let' s it turns out the suspicious looking man who triggered the calls is the alleged victim in the case who had fled the home invasion. those calls in teamwork between local and state police are credited with making the arrests so quickly. residents of nelson street in franklin called 911 early sunday about a suspicious looking man running between houses. one woman who did not want to be identified says he climbed over the gate on her porch fence.

kids so i was scared. >> police were on the scene within minutes. >> we found out he was injured. he told us he was involved in a home invasion incident. two men came in with shotguns to a residence. >> police say he passed out but not before describing how he was injured fleeing the apartment. >> he ran to the back deck of the second-floor apartment, jumped off, and ran through the woods down to nelson street. >> authorities say the victim had been staying with people when two armed men allegedly showed up. based on witness descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle, state police spotted them in andover and called for backup. >> when we approached the vehicle, there were three people inside. there were some other items that cost concern. >> they face charges ranging from armed robbery to criminal threatening.

was stolen and had numerous weapons inside. she is charged as an accomplice. all are from the lakes region. >> we apprehended the suspects. we got the stolen vehicle and weapons. there is no danger to the community. >> the three suspects are held on $30,000 bail each. the victim was airlifted to dartmouth hitchcock hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. jennifer crompton, wmur news 9. adam: thank you. crews just put out a fire in nashua. firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire just before 4:00 p.m.. the red cross says 13 people are currently displaced. no word on the number of fire. stephanie: authorities are investigating after a not function the production plant exposed 1200 customers to high levels of carbon monoxide. now, the governor wants the investigate.

in the newsroom with more on what went wrong. suzanne: tonight, liberty utilities says the problem is the first phone calls coming in just after 9:00 saturday morning to report the problem. malfunction at the plant where propane and air are mixed caused high levels of carbon monoxide. as a result, pure propane was sent to 1,250 customers in keene which can release deadly amounts of c.o. when burned. more than 60 fire departments from new hampshire and vermont helped keene firefighters respond to the emergency, knocking on doors, checking homes, and shutting off the gas to any house with a high c.o. level. the emergency ended at 2:00 sunday morning. emergency crews responded to more than 100 calls for a gas odor or symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure. at least five people were treated for carbon monoxide symptoms. today gov. maggie hassan is

into the event. >> it is really important that all of our gas systems work and are safe. that is what we want to focus on now. i' m very grateful to the keene fire department and members of law enforcement that aided them as we went door-to-door to door to make sure nobody else had been impacted. suzanne: a spokesman for liberty says they have been communicating with the p.u.c. throughout the emergency and called for by governor hassan. live in the news room suzanne roantree, wmur news 9. adam: thank you. in commitment 2016, last night' s democratic debate is in the rearview mirror. while there will be a short break for the holidays, they say after that, they will be ready for the home stretch.

s democratic debate featured plenty of back and forth. but back out on the campaign trail candidates were looking sunday, ahead to the final weeks of the campaign. at a town hall meeting in hopkinton, martin o' malley told news 9 he' s hoping to catch some of the first-in-the-nation primary' s late breaking momentum. >> people make up their own mind. history is full of examples of candidates who were victorious in new hampshire or iowa being at the same place that i am at this point. [cheering] adam: but to do that, he' ll need to pierce the wall of excitement being generated by candidates at the top like hillary clinton, who charged up her core supporters saturday night with a surprise appearance post-debate by her husband. >> behind the scenes, you can' t really ask for a better political mind, someone who is more familiar with voters or what people care about than bill clinton. adam: bernie sanders, who offered an on-stage apology saturday night after one of his staffers improperly accessed clinton campaign data, says he' s ready for the home stretch. >> i think if we win in iowa, we

what? i think we have a road to victory and maybe pulling off one of the big political upsets in modern american history. adam: the final democratic same sunday as the divisional round of the nfl playoffs, potentially a patriots game day. stephanie: dr. ben carson is making his way through the granite state this weekend. he made stops in keene and nashua today, and he will be making stops in manchestetr and wmur' s kristen carosa has more from his visit to keene state college. kristen: today' s town hall was hosted by the american democracy project, a campus initiative focused on preparing students to be informed, engaged citizens. the venture drew in a large crowd of all ages. dr. ben carson: thank you. kristen: a visit from republican presidential candidate dr. ben carson packed the young student center at keene state college. more than 200 people attended

dr. ben carson: i am absolutely delighted to be back here in new hampshire. it' s not that cold here really. this is kind of nice. i was in iowa yesterday, and that was cold. kristen: carson' s last visit to new hampshire was one month ago. since that time, he has been slipping in the polls. despite that, he says he is the right choice. dr. ben carson right now, we : have some massively difficult things to do which will require not only intellect and wisdom, but also courage. kristen: carson discussed the national debt, the economy, and taking down the current administration. carson then attacked the leading democratic candidates. dr. ben carson: bernie sanders and hillary clinton will tell you the income gap is spreading because of the evil rich people, and if we just take their money and redistribute it, everything will be just fine. of course, it doesn' t work that way. kristen: carson says if elected

stephanie: welcome back. this afternoon, new hampshire shoulders returned to the families in time for the holidays. adam: 115 soldiers returned from the field artillery regiment. they just finished a nine-month appointment. they ran training in the middle east in support of operation spartan shield. >> my father-in-law came over and grabbed me and brought me over to see my son for the first time in nine months and my wife. it is truly a blessing. it is a better feeling than the first one, and i am thankful for family and friends who supported us while we have been gone. it is a great feeling. adam: we thank them for their service. the remainder of the battalion is expected to come home sometime around the new year.

in parts of new hampshire, it is starting to look like christmas. some of you saw snow today. the plows were out early this morning in berlin where four inches of snow fell. and still some snow on the sidewalk this afternoon in colebrook. we are not seeing any of that snow around manchester. we are not going to see any for christmas. hayley: even up north, they will probably lose a lot of their snow. hopefully, the ski resorts can hang onto it longer. i' m sure they are making it themselves over the weekend since it was cold enough. but really warm air on the way. stephanie: in sports, the patriots picked up their 12th win of the season. announcer: one candidate tough enough to take on the bully... jeb bush: donald, you're not going to be able to insult your way to the

>> now, meteorologist hayley lapoint and your forecast. hayley: here is how it looked today in conway. you can see the beautiful white white. there is some snow on top of mount washington. they got eight inches. before that, it was bare, very unusual for this time in december. given how warm it was, i' m sure you. we had temperatures closer to the average high. we had a bright, sunny day. the clouds starting to stream

where it is clear, the temperatures have begun to dip. up north, some of you already in the teens. it is going to be chilly until the clouds fill in overnight. that will limit how cold we get. the central u.s., all of the eastern u.s., lots of cloud cover but not much precipitation. just a few rain showers in iowa, wisconsin. snow showers north of the border. there are a couple of weak systems moving through. for us, that will mean increased cloud cover. along with those clouds, some very mild air again. look at the temperatures at the moment. 28 in concord. 27 in laconia. 25 in plymouth. berlin already 17. 36 in manchester. 35 in nashua. this month has been incredibly warm. we have only had one day where we have had high temperatures below the average.

the other big deal is the next few days, probably even the next seven days, we will have all red days. it does not look like we have much of a cool down. as we approach christmas eve, we are going to break records. here is how everything goes down. tonight, increasing clouds. the moon and stars. by daybreak, the clouds will fill in and it will become overcast. most of the day tomorrow is dry. the entire day for central and southern new hampshire. up north, there may be showers after 4:00 in the afternoon. may see showers. you can see them form about noon in southern new hampshire. they will be scattered moving across the area. wednesday morning we will likely have sunshine before another storm system. that will bring rain into christmas eve.
