shelley: narcan is a drug that can stop the effects of an opioid overdose. the step the state and one pharmacy are taking to make the drug easier to access. mike: winter officially arrives in less than an hour, but the mild pattern looks to continue. a look at when record warmth could move in. tom: with christmas days away presidential candidate ben carson was celebrating today. the way he says his faith is influencing his campaign. shelley: the redevelopment of the balsams has cleared another hurdle. what this latest permit approval means for the project. >> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now, wmur news 9 tonight. shelley: nashua public schools will be back open tomorrow after a threat prompted administrators to cancel classes today. good evening, i' m shelley walcott. tom: i' m tom griffith.

safe for parents to send their children back. wmur' s mike cronin joins us live from nashua high school north with reaction from parents and investigators. mike there will be an increased : police presence here tomorrow and at other schools in the city. police aren' t saying what specifically was in the email threat but they' re confident schools are safe. luz rodriguez admits she' s scared to send her 4th grade daughter and two other children back to school. >> you know i was on the fence about sending them, but it' s like vacation week too and they have a few days off so i will be sending them tomorrow. mike: this man feels it' s safe to bring his son to first grade. >> we got a call this evening from the principal that everything is ok at this point and we got a confirmation from the police department. mike: the doors will reopen at schools across nashua tuesday after an email threat was sent to the district over the

officials say the threat was specific to the city' s two high schools, monday' s date, and how students would be hurt. >> we can say with confidence that there is no current credible threat to any nashua public school. >> police say local, state, and federal agencies have been investigating around the clock. the chief says they checked every school but didn' t find anything suspicious. >> literally hand checks of doors, windows, we had bomb dogs, the nashua department bomb unit there. we had state police and atf bomb k9' s assisting us. mike: the superintendent says he wanted to be safe so he closed all 17 public schools. >> had we held school in our other schools, we would' ve had a very high rate of absenteeism. we would' ve had a higher level of anxiety in the community. mike: while investigators say it' s now safe for students to return there will be more officers at schools an

s just something that you s like everywhere and hopefully everything goes by fine and nothing happens. mike: at this point police aren' t calling the threat a hoax but say they will do everything they can to bring whoever' s responsible to justice. live in nashua, mike cronin, wmur news 9. tom: right now crash has shut down an intersection in manchester. it happened around 8:30 tonight. three vehicles were involved one of them a police cruiser. at least one person was taken from the scene in an ambulance. shelley: it will soon be easier to get the opioid overdose antidote narcan. today, governor maggie hassan signed a standing order to stock narcan at all rite aid stores in the state. i spoke with the governor this afternoon. it is the emergency treatment

and soon it will be available at all rite aids across new hampshire. governor maggie hassan calling this a life saving move. governor hassan: i' m very grateful that rite aid stepped up here and is leading the way for new hampshire pharmacies. shelley: with the standing order from the department of health and human services, anyone can now buy narcan at rite aids across new hampshire. the cost will be $50. the kit will include two doses of narcan, two atomizers and instructions. governor hassan: what' s important for people to know, is that not every rite aid in new hampshire will necessarily have the narcan there that day. but they can all order it, or they can tell you what rite aid store does have it. shelley: it is the latest move to fight what governor hassan calls the most pressing public health and safety challenge facing new hampshire. earlier this year, the governor signed legislation, allowing doctors to prescribe narcan to the families and loved ones of addicts. in september, health and human services made 4500 narcan kits available at community health center across the state.

aids, the governor hopes people closest to addicts, will be able to help in the case of an overdose. >> the pharmacist will train people about how to administer it, and what to do after they give a dose of narcan. shelley: an emergency kit the governor hopes will arm people in this war on drugs. >> we are losing almost a person a day to overdoses, especially to fentanyl right now. narcan allows somebody to administer a drug safely to pull somebody out of an overdose. shelley: a spokesman for rite aid says they are committed to helping reduce overdose deaths. there are 68 rite aid locations across the state. tom: the attorney general says

he is accused of lying under oath about his relationship with her. this year. a man for massachusetts has been found guilty of assault charges connected to a kidnapping case in salem, new hampshire. lisette woman claimed he took will. he was convicted of charges including felony first-degree assault with a firearm. he faces 10 to 20 years in prison. shelley: another milestone for the balsams resort redevelopment program. the proposal includes renovating the balsams and building a ski resort. for the 900 and 80 acres will be protected. it' s the final major environmental permit that was needed before construction can begin.

than the one he grew up in. he also held a town hall this morning and has two more scheduled. jeb bush: for us to lead the world, we need to be an economic superpower, and we have the capability of doing this. but you cannot rely on the left to bring it and you cannot rely on untested people in our party to do it. tom: he talked about job growth during his time as governor. also campaigning in the granite kasich. a town hall meeting in rochester. he was joined on the campaign daughters today. in portsmouth, he announced the women for john kasich coalition. shelley: lindsey graham is no longer in the presidential race. the republican announced this morning that he is suspending committed to achieving security

new hampshire senator kelly armed services committee. gracie did the old-fashioned shoe leather here in new hampshire and i think those who worked with him and got a chance to meet him appreciated that opportunity. shelley: those still in the race will likely seek out his endorsement since that could help in the early primary in his home state of south carolina. but he has given no indication of who he will support. tom: martin o' malley still in the granite state after saturday night' s debate. night he made stocks in -- and talked about why he believes he is the new leadership that is needed in the white house. shelley: a malfunction leaves ride stuck in midair. rs how long it was stuck before crews could bring it safely to the ground. tom: a driver accused of plowing into the sidewalk is now charged

second anniversary of an unsolved murder in keene. david wheelock was found shot to death in his home on pearl street. detectives are hoping to find anyone who was driving on that street between 9:00 and 9:30 on the saturday night wheelock died. a late-model buick that may be similar to these cars was seen speeding away after the sound of gunshots. tom: the state public utilities commission is now investigating this weekend' s city-wide propane problem in keene. an equipment failure saturday morning at liberty utilities' plant caused the wrong mix of propane to be sent to more than 1200 customers. that exposed them to dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide. >> we believe there was some sort of power issue at the production facility. we are investigating that now to find out it act what happened, but that did cause a blower to basically stop working for a time.

1982-1992 for the red sox. his .338 batting average in boston is second only to ted williams. boggs was an eight-time all-star and during his 11 seasons with the red sox, he led all major leaguers in batting average, hits, doubles, and on-base percentage. boggs won 5 batting titles in boston, before continuing his career with the yankees and devil rays, but he went into the hall of fame wearing a red sox cap. the number 26 will be the 10th jersey number retired at fenway park. nine red sox, the other of course jackie robinson. the patriots are adding some experience to their backfield. running back steven jackson announced on twitter today that he is, in fact, joining new england. the team has not yet announced the signing, but espn is reporting it' s a one year deal. the pats have lost dion lewis and lagarrette blount to season ending injuries. jackson was released by the atlanta falcons in the offseason. he is 32-years-old and rushed for more than 11,000 yards in parts of 11 seasons in the league.
