into southwestern and lots of southern new hampshire locations, and is slowly pushing its way north and east through the next several hours, rain reaching the entire state overnight and it will be heavy at times, look at some of these batches of rain that are moving up in our direction, and they will perhaps rain heavily, can't rule out a rumble of thunder overnight. next up it the warmth, check this out, big time warmth in the southeastern u.s.a. is headed in our direction, so temperatures now go from the 40's into the 60's tomorrow. that's a look, it's almost hard to believe some of these temperatures will come true, about 20 degrees warmer than they were today. your christmas forecast coming up. tom: tonight the search for two men wanted in new hampshire has ended in florida. shelley: one is dead, the other in custody after an armed robbery. their last run-in in new hampshire happened in deerfield where an officer was dragged by a truck.

details oh on that. reporter: shelley, a near 24-hour search in central florida ends with a rochester man dead and a strafford man facing multiple charges both in florida and here in new hampshire. >> getting the altercation down in florida, i don't know what they were thinking about. it doesn't happen that often. reporter: deerfield police pulled over a pickup truck on december 2 and say they found 27-year-old derek kelley behind the wheel and 29-year-old michael hilber in the passenger seat. both with outstanding warrants in new hampshire. when an officer tried to arrest them, kelley allegedly took off, dragging the officer about 20 feet onto on coming traffic. >> he's fine, he's just got dragged out in traffic. reporter: deerfield police filed charges against kelley for felonious escape, resisting arrest and disobeying an officer but weren't able to arrest him. >> that night we were tracking

web found out that the occupant ended up somewhere in connecticut and we her from other face facebook posts that he was on the way to florida. >> i need to report a robbery. reporter: florida authorities say a man who resembles hilber was caught on camera robbing a dollar general store on tuesday afternoon. shortly after, police chased hilber and kelley, then shot and killed hilber in the woods about 1:45. kelley was capture wednesday morning. deerfield police say even though kelley had an arrest history in the state, this was a surprise. >> it is based on the fact that we're dealing with burglaries here. armed robbery seems like he stepped it up, whether or not they had the firearms in the vehicle in new hampshire twh they ran from us or whether they picked them up in florida we're not 100% sure. reporter: kelley is currently charged with principal to armed robbery with a firearm, he's

without bond. tom: tonight the u.s. marshal trying to track an armed robbery suspect wanted in two states, 31-year-old matthew martin is suspected in at least a half dozen robberies in new hampshire and vermont. and as wmur's heather hamel reports live now, each time he showed a gun. reporter: authorities consider martin extremely dangerous, they believe he may have a connection to drugs. >> he was a dangerous guy, he's robbed one bank in new hampshire that we know of. he displayed a semi-automatic pistol when he did that robbery. reporter: that was on december 4 in loudon. martin was already supposed to be sentenced for three robberies in vermont but never showed up in court. in the past few weeks he believes he has carried out more crimes, including this armed bank robbery at the heritage credit union in ludlow monday caught on camera. >> he's a dangerous individual. the united states marshal service is prepared to offer

any information leading to his arrest. reporter: the u.s. marshal says they want to get him off the streets quickly because they fear things could escalate. >> he's armed, dangerous, people can do strange things when they're pushed to the edge. reporter: authorities say martin is from rhode island but has friend in vermont, giving them a central location to start their search, but they say he bounces back and forth between vermont and new hampshire and us went to springfield, massachusetts after the last robbery. >> there are some people out there who might be helping him. if they are helping him and we can prove it, they're going to be charged with accessories. if anybody knows where he is, let us know, we need to get him off the streets. reporter: martin is wanted on two warrants, one for the loudon bank robbery and the other out of vermont. they say he may also be responsible for even more robberies. heather hamel, wmur news 9. shelley: a man convicted in the stabbing death of a madbury teen has been formally sentenced tonight to life in prison.

and two other men lured 18-year-old aaron wilkinson out of his house and then stabbed him 20 times, in what prosecutors say was a botched robbery attempt. wmur's adam sexton joins us now with the emotional statements made by the victim's family in court. reporter: there were some intense moments as wolusky turned to face the father of aaron wilkinson during victim impact statements, with wolusky continuing to deny that he murdered wilkinson, paul carroll reiterated the facts, but even after that wolusky denied it. the defense team contend the two codefendants are the real killers. wilkinson's father says the family welcomes the end of this part of the process. >> i'm happy it's over with, moving forward. we talked about the appeal

but so that's on the horizon. reporter: the defense team says there will be an appeal filed within 30 days of wolusky is also being ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution to the family for funeral and future counseling costs. tom: tonight the aclu of new hampshire is suing the state department of corrections after it put a ban on inmates receiving greeting cards. suzanne roantree has the story. reporter: the aclu of new hampshire says cards and hand made drawings not only violate someone's constitutional rights, banning them, and also hurts the inmate appears billity to be rehabilitated. an inmate's 3-year-old son sent

drawings, and the hand made message, i heart you, daddy. in may corrections officials banned cards because they say some were being used to smuggle in a drug which comes in thin strips. the strips were hidden in heavy card stock paper, or by layered crayon drawings. >> security is tantamount for us, and trying to keep contraband out of the prison is a major priority for us. whatever methods we can use to keep that from coming inside, >> this policy is far sweeping because it doesn't just capture the instances where individuals are trying to smuggle a substance into prison, it captures the speech of a 3-year-old to his father. reporter: the aclu says while the policy is well intentioned, it bans a huge amount of speech including that of a child to try to communicate with his father who is inside jail. suzanne roantree, wmur news 9.

direction and when do we return to normal. here's josh with a look at all that. josh: a little of everything on the way, mike. he had the umbrella there, that's because the rain has moved into southern new hampshire. concord temperatures have gone up, because warm air is pushing in, temperatures will not be dropping very much if at all during the night time hours. we're starting off here a good 10 to 15 degrees above average starting off. as we go through the nighttime, warmer air pushes on in. along with the rain there's lower visibility in the form of fog in some locations, these are the visibilities, some areas down to a quarter mile visibility, so a little extra caution particularly toward the seacoast where there's a densing for advisory in effect. the average high is 34, so 12 degrees above average for today, but wait until we get into tomorrow, because we're just going to shatter that

that's where your dense fog advisory is in effect, all of maine and southeastern new hampshire close to the coast, but you could find fog anywhere. notice the darker greens and yellows embedded within the values of these radar returns. you can have light rain and then the intensity can pick up and notice it's moving quickly here, already making it up into parts of the lakes region, pushing toward northern new hampshire as well, and it a big area of rain with plenty more heavy rain to go. so at times overnight tonight you may hear the rain coming down heavy on the roof, and there's eve than an outside chance of a rumble or two of thunder. it all being pushed up in this direction thanks to the jet stream which dips down in the middle of the country and brings colder air. but on the right side or the east side of the jet streaming that's the warmth and it bringing it right up along with all that rain, so these temperatures down here, believe it or not, the air mass is over

will be here by tomorrow afternoon, it rides up the jet stream very quickly, and even the fact that we'll start with plenty of cloud tomorrow and a few early showers, we're still going to see very warm temperatures, may not see the sun until the afternoon. rain heavy at times overnight be the and through the early morning hour tomorrow, but then it starts to pull away, fog, some drizzle, sprinkles still around through the morning hours, through my day. then in the afternoon you start to see breaks fall out through the skies, through the clouds, and you could see a brick or two of sunshine, maybe partly sunny skies for some areas. it will be amazing tomorrow afternoon as temperatures soar into the 60's. friday for christmas day, 50's for most, and then saturday partly sunny skies with a chance of a shower or two as temperatures slowly start to head back downwards again as we head into next weekend. so 40 to 50 for tonight with temperatures steady or riding, and times of rain.
